Quick post before class starts.

So @mothtrrash made me remember my first ttte Au I made before I was actively posting on tumblr with their dragon post. In this Au all the engines are dragons working on the railways instead of locomotives.

I started writing it, made some fanart, got stuck in between chapters and classified it as discontinued. I still have strong feelings for this Au but don’t have the inspiration to return to it yet with my other Au Gold Dust Adventures almost ready to take off.

For the "Send Me A Character" thing, well since you're a huge simp for him, why not: Edward The Blue Engine?

Hah! I kneeeeeew this was gonna happen lol! Of course I simp the reliable blue bean! Who wouldn't?! He is simply amazing! Not gonna lie, when I start to get stressed at work, I tend to think about him to get my motivation back. I more than just have a huge crush on him but I also admire him and wish to be like him - reliable and useful.

First Impression/Impression Now -

Obviously, I love him but this was a slow burn. He wasn't the favorite at the start when I was a kid. It took a viewing in my late teens before I started to consider him as a favorite. (For context - I watched episodes on VHS, which means I had a select number of episodes to watch. And it so happens that the episode that features Edward is "Edward's Expliot," the best of his leading roles.) As I watch the Newer CGI stuff (none of that HiT Era stuff!), I fell in love with him even more and it was finalized then. He may seem as a Mary Sue character for he has very few flaws but, in the right hands, he can be a interesting character and be fleshed out. Brenner proved it can be done with a modern mind set and Captain America is the big screen equivalent. He needs more love.

Favorite Moment -

"HEEEEEERE'S EDWARD!" My god - that was too cute! "All in Vain" is one of my favorite episodes in the Brenner era. I also can't forget "Old Reliable Edward" with his slam dunk on Gordon! That was beautiful!

For classic series, "Old Iron" is fantastic, the already mentioned "Edward's Exploit," and many quips he has! I love classic era Eddie simply because he doesn't let others opinions shape him. That was lost a bit but he is still a charming boy!

Idea for a Story -

There is one story I WISH they would've wrote is when they have Edward, Hiro, Glynn and Stephen share a episode together. I think their dynamics would be cute and a joy to see! Also - Glynn and Edward know each other so there is a link than can be explored a bit!

Unpopular Opinion -

Wait - there are unpopular opinions on Edward? I think we are all on the same boat when it comes to him. I never met anyone who said they hate Edward. There are people who don't see him as a favorite but don't dislike or hate him. Oh wait...I have one...fuck........... "A Shed for Edward" isn't a bad episode. Its funny as all hell! This poor boi just needs his sleep! The reason why its so hated is because it was the episode that booted him off the team. I am in agreement that this shouldn't have happened and I am just as mad as yawl but - its still written well and it is a situation we never seen Edward in. also, I love the sound of the metal clink when the buffers touch like that. Also also, POOR PERCY! He was scared shitless! But yeah..."A Shed for Edward" isn't a bad epsiode. "Ready Eddie" is a bad episode. Anything from the HiT era is a bad episode. God those early CGI models were ugly!

Favorite Relationship -

His mentor relationships, you know - Bill & Ben, Thomas, Percy, Duck - they are fabulous! He works wonders as a mentor! And yawl went overkill with him being the adoptive father lol! LEAVE THE MAN ALONE!!! XD

Favorite Head Cannon -

I'm gonna assume not of my own cause that seems egoistical lol. I don't have a solid favorite cause - I LOVE ALL OF THEM!!!! T.T They are all too hot! XD

I'm sure I am forgetting a few (because there are so many! Every one has drawn Edward! EVERYONE!) and its hard to keep track of all of the ones I have seen!

In terms of story - I share the idea of Edward being involved in Thomas and the Magic Railroad, especially his rivalry with Diesel 10. Him staying as a main lead is also shared as well cause he deserves more!

And there you have it! All in all - I love Edward. I will simp the engine until the day I die!

Diesel 10 Head Cannon - Revenge

Man, Day of the Diesels was a underwhelming story with so much potential. Keep in mind, my D10 is not a friendly! Not at all! He is a villain in my AU and he is out for revenge! “Betrayal”, the song that I have selected, is basically him talking down Diesel (or the Sodorian Diesels). Diesel 10 is dead set on revenge thanks to his past.

One - He was actually born Shining Time side, not Sodor side which is very particular! Lady brought him to life to save him from being scrapped and over the years, had him put back together piece by piece. He went by the name Alexander (Alex for short). His fellow siblings were also named after famous generals - Napoleon, Patton, etc. His claw is what he got on Sodor side, a engineer being fascinated by the more advanced tech he was.

Two - His beef is with Edward. You see, Alex fell in love with Lady. Lady did too but was too scared to admit her feelings to him because- she fell in love with Edward too - and she has been lying to him. Lady is basically a goddess and has huge amounts of power. She is able to make herself look like a human (skin tone and all). Edward fell in love with HumanLady and she knows this but it grew into a guilty pleasure and tries to live the double life until….until Brandon happened. Brandon is Edward’s brother and his is furious over the fact that both of his siblings (Clyde and Ed) are falling for a human. He finds out the truth about Lady and hatches a plan. He goes Shining Side and finds Alex and takes him over to Sodor. There, he shows him what Lady is up to and witnesses her kissing Edward, breaking his heart. (I am drawing huge inspiration from Squirrelflight’s triangle from Warriors. If yall read the books, you know it does not end well). Sadly, Veronica, who was the NWR 2, was killed by Brandon (Alex was sworn to secrecy and was originally blamed for her death). Alex, already furious, goes on a rampage and fights to take Lady back by force. However, he loses the fight (and his arm) and is kicked off the island and escapes to the mainland. “AS LONG AS I AM ON THIS ISLAND, YOU WILL NOT RETURN!”

Three - He does return and he is mad as all hell! Like the film (and its original plot), he is trying to find the buffers so he can return home and find Lady. Edward is off island, taking TFC on holiday. Things pan out as normal until the climax. Thomas and Lady make it across but Diesel 10 doesn’t fall into the ravine yet. He stops and taunts them. This is when Edward is racing down the line, confronting Diesel 10. D10 taunts him while Edward tries to talk him down. The two brawl and Edward was thrown on to the collapsing bridge. D10 was about to finish him off until the bridge falls apart - both falling into the ravine. Lady’s power returns (Lily and the conductors found the secret and brought the gold dust back at the same time) and saves Edward but Diesel 10 falls into the barge. Edward explains to the three (Thomas, Percy and James) about his past.

Four - Diesel 10 is a petty bitch and desires revenge. DotD is indeed the climax to this arch. What happens is that over the years, he slowly takes over the minds of the Sodorian Diesels (well, the few he can. He has a posse of his own). He learns that there is a engine that is VERY close to Edward and decides to use her to his advantage. That engine is Annabelle Lee. She was tricked into thinking he is harmless and beings Edward. D10 executes his plan and wounds Edward. He would’ve killed him if Anna wasn’t there (military training). She takes a huge amounts of guilt while everyone tells her its not her fault. Word gets out that Diesel 10 has captives and Ginger Snap leads a charge with Thomas and Gordon (and everyone else cause this is Warriors Darkest Hour here!) but she gets hurt in the process trying to take D10 on herself. Edward and Anna learn about the attack and make there way there just to see the Diesel Works up in smoke. When Edward learns that Thomas is still inside, he rushes in to save him before Diesel 10 strikes him with the claw. Ed does his best but he two gets bested until he found the strength to fight back. Gordon races in and clocks D10 square in the jaw. Thomas and Gordon book it as the place was up in flames. Edward stays behind and carries D10 out. He was of course confused over Edward’s kindness.

Oh boy, my choice huh?

Okay here goes! My (un)popular opinion is how I see this community, a warm welcoming place for people to come together and talk about a common childhood interest that impacted us in various ways. Honestly I never thought that I would be noticed as I started posting but that soon changed simply by the fact of me asking politely about people’s opinions, permission and generally by taking the step of posting ttte art in the first place ( @asktrio516 and @robotic-railways know what I’m talking about). And then it just rolled by itself, I made wonderful friends, saw new interesting people and I’m genuinely having a good time. Even in hard times this fandom showed compassion and support, not always in a way I would handle the situation but the point was to stand up for another what I hugely appreciated. In short I’m proud of where I am today in this fandom and wil remain a proud member! And while we are at it why not shout out the people that were either a huge inspiration and or support to me!

I have a question for Anne and Edward, if you don't mind: . Number 49 - What is their most valued object?

If you are referring to Anne Weathers, her most valued possession is her necklage you see her wearing. She got this from her mom (who i will design later) Dorothy Rogers and Edward (who adopted her in my Au, yes Edward's urge to adopt kids is a strong part of his personality in this Au XD). Anne may not have all her memories right now but she has strong feelings towards the the item and she subconsciously touches it whenever she feels down or needs courage to push onward. When i finally begin the comic you will see the necklage will bcome even more important than it is now.

Edward's sacred possesson is his photo album with pictures of all his loved ones. It's serves more as a scrap book/ dairy for him. Whenever he misses Anne and his beloved Dorothy he flips open the book and looks back on the fond memories he had with his small family before it was brutally taken from him.

As a bonus I put myself, Anne Rogers, in here as well, my most valued object is my sketchbook, I can't go anywhere without it. In case of ideas sudeenly popping up I need to sketch or write it down!

Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base

This is where my sister works! This base has practically every branch working here - except space. Those three helios (helicopters) are marines and they seat two people (they are big but they are of the smaller size believe it or not!) And yes, there are fighter jets and there are two big boys (Boeing C-17) sitting way back there but you may not see them in the photo. We did approach the helios (snapped a picture of one which was given the number 14) but couldn’t stay long due to risk getting into trouble.

There isn’t much activity going on (we did walk in on her two friends just chilling, one eating a ice pop) on base so, no landings today. We did walk threw a hanger of her shop and I saw three birds (thats what planes are called and they are F-18s) chilling in the back. Sis says they are under some kind of maintenance. She doesn’t necessarily work on the birds: she directs them. Yep! She’ll be on the field directing the helios to land or take off and direct birds to the runway.



She even shown me (the bones at least lol) of their next Mardi Gras float - designed after the USS Constitution. She designed it and the guy snacking on the ice pop is helping her build it. Yes, just those two. It will be awesome when it gets done!

It was cool seeing her base and where she worked.

I share a common interest Swift. For me personally the history of both wars was a way to reconnect with my father after a troubled period. We went to a lot of musea in mu country, memorials and even re-enactments. I travelled to most must seen spots of both wars, being the coast of West Flanders for WW1 and Normandy for WW2. These travels were to pay my respects to all lost and had to endure wartime. It was also one of the main reasons for me to become a nurse. The evolution of modern medicine and treatment was a huge step during these periods (as well for the industry and etc.) and the stories of these brave people risking their lives everyday trying to help another in need... that gave the breakthrough. This a huge relief for me to know that someone else is interested in these things because I was afraid to share this bit of info of me. This was because of the painful history behind the wars and that it still brings pain and rage to people which I understand.

WW2 Museum

Okay- I LOVE WW2! Its my most favorite period of time. There was so much to learn and explore about this troubled time in history. This is also the reason why Annabelle Lee, Ginger Snap, and Frank are s160 2-8-0s: they were built during this time.

Just like the WW1 Museum in Kansas City, you get the general history of the war and theaters that America fought. It is a experience that I recommend to those who enjoy this type of history. Also, its a lot more fun with a sister who happens to be a sailor (heck, she even shown me how to check for a fire on a sealed door on a ship!)

Of course, I learned nothing new since I know a ton of info about it already but it was cool to see the museum and the featured film “Beyond Boundaries” (4D experience btw).

Oh? The jeep and tank? Hehe! The first time I went to the WW1 Museum, I bought this jeep that was also a pencil sharpener. I was dead set on getting him a buddy. Alas, no pencil sharpeners. So, I opted for a tank! Now, I have a duo representing my love for history.

Watch out world I have a car and tree of my buddies on the road!!!! 😂😂

I can finally scrap this from my to do list! Have some inspirational dadward, Pacific brothers, a precious bean and a Scottish hottie for some good vibes. This request/ challenge was started over a month or so and if this time doesn’t prove how slow I am with art progress than I don’t know.

Henry the Green Engine

“I know I have problems- a lot of them. I have fought them alone. Im used to it…being alone…can I ever be…open again?”

Henry, Henry, Henry…you poor boy. If any character that has gone through the most shit, its definitely him. My take on Hen is a bit different. I do love the gentle giant and overly worried persona, but I also love his cynical and his mean/savage side. Henry has a sense of pride for his strength but his confidence is so fragile. I went with a more chilled, calm and gentle Henry. He can get worried like his latest persona but he can be quippy and cynical like his previous persona. He isn’t much of a jerk like he was in the Railway Series, well, he used to but he absolutely hates himself for it since poor Edward was the target majority of the time. But he is still a spin of his many different forms.

Like many young engines, Henry was a bit confident but he wasn’t very boastful. He was mostly nervous the whole time. He had no idea what to call himself. Gordon was a Pacific, Edward was a Seagull, Henry was…Atlantic? Pacific? What is he? You can say the then controller was not pleased when he arrived on the island. But, he wasn’t turned away since the controller needed any help he can get. Henry tried but failed to match the controller’s requirements, Gordon was then brought on with another on the way. Henry was then put on freight duty. Soon, Edward was put into steam again and joined Henry in freight duties, and eventually James. Henry and Edward got along well. Too well. Then, the day when Henry got locked up in the tunnel. James’ first day was to get Henry out of the tunnel but it was of course to no avail. Henry was both terrified of the rain and was concerned if it would spoil his paint. After the event, he slowly lost that fear, but a good storm can indeed spook him. He can tolerate it but he always packs a umbrella just in case.

Edward and Henry became more close, especially when Henry’s ego took a hit. They did indeed start to date but it was hush-hush, for a bit anyway. The others learned of this- when the strike happened. Henry was fed up too, not having Thomas here to help with the work. He and Edward would argue about it. Edward obviously finds Henry being unreasonable while Henry saw Edward the same way Gordon did: a traitor to tender engines alike. When Henry blew up on him for this, calling him names and insulting him, Edward cuts it off and keeps to his branchline. Henry was fuming for months, even treating Edward harshly, hissing and scowling at him. Eventually, when locked up, he realizes that what he has done was horrible. He wasn’t sure if Edward would ever accept his apology. Well, he didn’t, not at first. This did indeed put Henry down, realizing that what he has done is quite irreversible. This is when he started to feel ill. Due to his mish-mash build, mechanical problems were bound to happen. He had a few tinkers here and there but the big one was his firebox being too small to heat up his boiler to create steam. He was constantly teased by the others (except Edward). Edward, even though he was angry with him, knew of his pain and wanted to help him the best he could. Henry was excited when he got to try the Welsh Coal and was working well until - well, you know, The Flying Kipper Accident. He didn’t lose limbs but he received massive damage that reflect in his scars today.

Victor: I just want to quickly explain how scars work - these scars are mental scars. Strange I know. These scars are formed from traumatic events, forever bound to us. Thus, this is why our scars do not show on our engine shapes. No amount of repairs will make them fade. They are for life.

Thanks Victor. We’ll visit soon! Anyway, Henry was rebuilt into a Black 5 base and is better than before! Sometimes. Its not uncommon for a hiccup now and again to creep up on him. He tries his best.

Character interactions:

He gets along with the steam team very well, especially Edward. He has a mini rivalry with Gordon when it comes to the Express and likes to gossip with James from time to time. He has a strong sibling relationship with Emily who constantly looks out for him, especially when Gordon and James get cheeky and start poking fun at him (but they NEVER bring up the kipper accident. Period.)

When the girls came, he got along well with Ginger Snap and shares her views in valuing one’s strength. He likes Annabelle Lee’s company due to her quiet and gentle nature.

When Annabelle Lee was kidnapped, he was one of four engines to go and rescue her, when Edward couldn’t contact them by the chosen time. He was absolutely terrified! But he braved it on to help Edward and Anna. Thank god Duck did most of the talking.

When Diesel 10 returned and theatens the island with a war (he did set Vicarstown a blaze), Hen originally didn’t want any part of the fighting. In his mind, he had enough. But his mind was changed when Philip pleaded to him about saving the humans who were trapped. Its thanks to these two that many lives were saved in the onslaught.

Then, he met Sapphire. Oh boy- their first meeting was when he was taking the local while Annabelle Lee was showing her around. They literally bumped into each other! Sapphire grew a crush on him immediately and they both went on a date the same day. Thus seeing his nature loving side when they visited a garden (The bee! The BEE!) Henry wasn’t too for sure but he did find her appealing. The biggest thing was that she didn’t find him “boring.” Which was his greatest fear. He wasn’t as energy filled like James or Thomas, nor interesting like Gordon or Edward. He was relived that she loved him for who he is. They are now in a strong, steady relationship, taking things in a gentle pace. (Sapphire is a OC owned by @robotic-railways )

In general, Henry is very passive, he does not like to start fights, even in his jerk years. He is a gentle giant that can be easily spooked or worry too much. But he won’t hesitate to put himself in risk just to help out someone he cares about.

💚 He is very hard to piss off. But if one does, he’ll default into the “quiet treatment.” Its rare to see his “jerky mood,” thus, this happens when his really can’t let go to what happened. Watch it! It will surprise you and he has a sharp tongue!

💚 It should go without saying: he loves nature. You all know why!

Well, this is rare when a character claims a entire album! I do see this one with Henry: his depression, anxiety, and the stresses of the job. I don’t have one for “Current Henry” but it would be a more upbeat one!

Let’s Get to the Basics

Now, I am getting a creative kick again! Not sure how it is but I do feel motivated again! But I need a bit of help. I have no idea where to start, in terms of art for my AU. So, I have a challenge for you:

Send me drawing requests/writing prompts! Before you run off to my ask box, here are some rules to keep things from getting chaotic:

Please reserve no more than 3 questions per ask. Don’t give me a list. It would overwhelm me a bit.

If you ask for a canon character - it will be of my interpretation and AU. Please, understand this.

You may send your OCs but have them interact with my cast/OCs. If you want just your OC to be drawn (as a request. If you are wanting something bigger, we will have to talk about pricing), ask @thequeenofthomasandfriendsocs . But make sure you are respectful and provide the proper refs.

Some questions may be answered in three ways: Draw, Write, Skit. Skit is basically having the Character interact with a statement or question. Its not the same as Writing. Make sure if you want Writing, aka a writing prompt, make sure you mention it. Draw/Skit may be interchanged depending on mood/time. Skits can also start RPs but, the intent must be clear from the start. I also may not be interested in a RP based on mood or schedule.

If you are not the owner, do not ask for someone else’s OC/Character design to be involved, UNLESS you have permission. I do not like stepping on toes and disrupting the waters.

This also goes for art styles. I worked hard to get where I am now. Do not ask me to copy someone’s style for you. It seems rude by doing so. Also, its plagiarizing.

I am NOT keen/willing to share NSFW drawings/writings/skits. We may be horny for humanized locomotives but I have the right to say no to these types of requests. Also, Annabelle Lee is not available for any kind of heavy skin showing. It’s against her character and I will not have her in that predicament.

No character mention for a question, especially with the challenge memes, I will pick the character best fit for it. If you want a character to answer a question, make sure you put in their name.

This will be a continuous thing - there is no time limit of the sort! I just want to announce that I want to come back and fight my stress, anxiety and depression with art. I am also not just gonna rely on asks either - I’ll draw and sketch as I please and get to writing my stories as well. Don’t feel like you are pressured to do so. I’m not begging for asks nor for attention. This place is my safe haven - I want to enjoy it. And I want to enjoy it with you.
