Tcm Oc: Darla Sawyer
Darla is the mother of Drayton, Choptop, Nubbins, and Bubba Sawyer, the daughter in law of Grandma and Grandpa Sawyer, and the wife of my other TCM Oc Jimmy Sawyer
She was a highly sheltered child growing up whose family wanted her to oppress everything they found “embarrassing” about her and when she found out she was pregnant they immediately disowned her and only allowed her to take a handful of possessions with her
The reason she fell in love with Jimmy was because he made her feel like she could truly be herself with him and is beloved not only by him but by his parents as well
On their wedding day Grandma Sawyer let Darla wear her old wedding dress and gave her the pearls seen in her design to truly welcome her into the family
Since her father refused to acknowledge her Grandpa Sawyer would be the one to walk her down the aisle and into the arms of his son
She adores her sons and often encourages them to do whatever makes them happy even if it might be pretty strange to others *ahem* Nubbins
She always told Drayton he was the one that made her want to become a better person than her parents were and encouraged him to go his own path such as being a gas station owner instead of going into the slaughterhouse like her husband and father in law did
She and her husband started trying to have more children when they were in their thirties but due to fertility problems it took until they were in their mid forties to finally get pregnant with the twins and then Bubba
She taught he boys how to sew and allowed Bubba to help her with her makeup after realizing how good he was with it
When Grandpa Sawyer and later her youngest three quit the slaughterhouse, her husband decided to go and find work elsewhere and chose to go with him since he was always there for her and because her boys were all grown
Right before she left she told her boys to look after themselves and their grandparents and that she loved them with all her heart
However she and her husband would never return as she was later killed alongside her husband by a serial killer leading her boys and in laws to never know what happened to either of them
