Choptop x Soldier! Reader
I just had to write a oneshot for everyone's favorite crusty rat man! I was inspired by a post on here to make this, but I do not know of their user
Choptop does act a bit out of character since he's showing an emotion he really doesn't bring out in the film so I did try my best at keeping his character true to what it is. Enjoy reading!

Choptop wasn't his usual self. Instead of being hyper and talking everyone's head off or being batshit crazy, he sat down in his room, anxious over if his lover would come home or not.
Drayton and Bubba were as well, but Chop was a wreck. His brothers tried to talk to him about calming down and doing things he used to, but it never seemed to get through him.
They were scared for Y/n, not knowing if she was safe or dead. They hoped the second option wasn't the case.
While Drayton was looking at cooking recipes and Bubba was down in the basement, Chop left himself in his room, listening to a track Y/n and himself always liked.
He really did miss her. She was drafted to war suddenly and the family had got no notice of anything since then. He thought Vietnam was bad, but the feeling that wouldn't leave his chest was worse.
As he used his coat hanger to scratch at his plate, he looked back on when he first met Y/n at a music store.
Meanwhile, away from the Sawyer residence, Y/n was in a military truck, with her duffle bag in hand. She was coming home. No one knew of course, but she planned a surprise for her family.
With a few bumps here and there, the sun was high and the roads were bare. Nothing in view, well except for a welcome sign to her home town.
Telling the driver to stop, she got off the truck, bag in hand and began to walk home.
With a few clanks on her leg brace, she made it back to the abandoned park where her family stayed hidden.
Walking around, she went to one of the secret entrances in the back, being careful not to make a sound, even though the brace wasn't helping much.
Choptop, got up from his bed, picking off a bit of flesh as he walked out of his room from one of the tunnels.
"Boy if you don't hurry up I'll go get my broom!" Drayton yelled, making Chop quickly run to the table, and going to the chair he usually sat at.
He turned to see the empty chair next to him, the one that was reserved for his love. No one dared to sit in it, fearing what Choptop would do to them.
"Drayton do ya think she'll come back? I mean in one piece that is. I re-really do miss her. She's my fav gal."
"I don't know Chop, but she is one tough gal. She was a killin machine here, then she is there. I'm sure she's fine."
Drayton sat a bowl of soup in front of his younger brother, being a bit gentle, seeing he was not in the best of shape.
He knew Chop was hurting, everyone was, even grandpa.
As they are their meal, a voice popped up out of know where. "Don't ya have some saved for me?"
Chop looked up from the table, seeing Y/n there, putting her bag down and smiling the same smile he always knew.
He ran at her, picking her up into a bone crushing hug. With his skinny demeanor, you'd think he would have much strength, but you'd be wrong.
Y/n laughed, holding onto her long time boyfriend just as hard, a few tears spilling out of her eyes.
Drayton and Bubba looked on, happy to see
Y/n home, but waited their turn to greet her.
As Y/n pulled back, she noticed Chop was crying as well. She gave him a soft smile as she dried away his tears, while he returned the favor.
"Darlin' I th-thought you were gone! I thought somethin' happened to ya! I couldn't even listen to my music for so long!" His voice boomed in the hideout. He never spoke in a inside voice, so they were all used to it.
"Well I'm home Chop. I'm home."
Not able to contain his excitement, he pulled her into a sloppy kiss, smiling the entire time.
She pulled back after a couple of seconds, jumping out of his arms even though she'd love to be in them all day.
Not wanting to be away from her touch, Chop wrapped an arm around her waist, not going to be letting her go for a while, as they walked over to his brothers.
They also enveloped Y/n into a hug, having missed her for a long time. Everything was fine now.
I need some cuddle headcanons for Drayton if you're up for it. I'm sorry, not only am I tired, but the worst thing happened to me today....I ran out of coffee.

•Drayton really isn’t one for cuddling. He’s too busy worrying about his chili business and taxes. Maybe catch him for some cuddles when he’s tired
•He grumbles about you wanting to cuddle, but he allows it. Secretly though, he loves it. He will just never say it though.
•Drayton will half ass lay an around around you and just stay there. You’re the one cuddling up to him, not the other way around
•On very rare occasions will he ever cuddle you back. Almost usually it’s because of a bad sale or just a bad day.
•Don’t expect him to allow you to cuddle everyday. Maybe twice a week, but that’s if you’re lucky. He’s a busy man ya know.
