I love it when in the crucible when you hear one sweet business everyone gets it out if they have it. It's funnier than hell when it happens!

āThe Crucibleā by Arthur Miller Review
Genre: Historical Fiction
Rating: 3/5
Summary:Ā āThe Crucibleā is a play of 1953 by Arthur Miller. The story is based on the infamousĀ āSalem witch trialsā which took place in the 1692-1693. A group of young women, lead by Abigail Williams, accuse the village people of witchcrafts which results in a hysteria among them.
My opinion: The writing style of this play was very neat and I enjoyed reading every minute of it. It was short but the scenes were very intense. It showed how the āSalem witch trialsā was unfair and how ironically they hanged the people who wouldnāt admit being a witch rather than the ones who already did.
But there is a specific problem in this play which I would like to discuss. The protagonist John Proctor was shown as a brave hero whereas the antagonist was Abigail Williams, a very young girl who was sexually exploited by her former master (John Proctor). Isnāt it misogynistic how the writer had made the real victim look like a villain and the abuser a hero? I know Abigail was twisted and what she did was not right. But it was John who made her go that way.
Another problematic thing about this was that John was expecting his wife, Elizabeth, to forgive him because he had confessed to her. But when she couldnāt, it made him angry. At the end too, Elizabeth took all the blame on her saying she was tooĀ ācoldā as to why John made the mistake in the first place. That was really misleading. No one should be felt that way when their partner is the one cheating.

Crucible: Control
I had forgotten how much I love my first ever shooter PvP in my life. Iāve loved it since I was little and I love it now.
So I have a tradition that on the eve of opening night for any show Iām in, I reblog something related to the show. In this case, we arenāt actually opening tomorrow (because, well, you know. Pandemic and all.) but we wouldāve, so... here, have a Crucible meme to celebrate our scheduled opening night eve, in hopes that we will have a real opening night... some time in the future.Ā
Anyways, back when we were still doing rehearsals, I showed this to my friend who plays Mary Warren and we had a long hard laugh over it :)Ā
I have another new obsession
Thank you this has been invaluable to me as an actress developing this character :)
contrary to popular belief, Mercy Lewis actually lives naked among the raccoons in the forest that surrounds Salem

1/4 - exterior
here's the crucible by the by!
so believe it or not i had a ridiculous hard time with this one. like more than the lump. i redid the floorplans so many times. and then i had to use my imagination to fill this gigantic mansions (since in the game we see only the first floor), and i'm not used to have to furnish large rooms. but anyways i think it's kind of an acceptable result. i don't want to ever think about this lot ever again
2/4 - georgiy's wing yes he has a little easel, and not a TV. not a TV at all
3/4 - maria's wing
the biggest house. please ignore the floor lights, i wanted the purple ambiance for her room.
also a nursery in case... (and to fill space)
4/4 - victor's wing
in place of a creepy foetus statue there's a fat bottle with an heart in it. and there's a train room! because victor seems to me to be the kind of guy who needs a train room
and that's all folks!
