Oliver Queen Appreciation Post
Arrow is what brought all these incredible superheroes to our TV screens. Oliver Queen is the man who started it all. Oliver Queen is a remarkable human being who cares for and supports everyone. He may seem all cold and gritty, but he’s a phenomenal human being inside and out. Oliver assumes that every bad thing that happens to those he loves, is because of him; because he’ s a part of their lives.
He is not proud of the person he once was; a spoiled brat who played around with any girl he happened to find attractive, who lied to his own girlfriend. But the great thing about Oliver is that he grew into such a beautiful person, who loves and protects everyone dear to his heart. His character development is one of my favourite things about him.
Oliver Queen is the person who went back to Star City, and was content with just seeing his family. He is the big brother who killed that drug dealer so that his sister would stop hurting herself. He loved his best friend and found a way to make him leave Hong Kong without having to kill him, unlike what Amanda Waller had wanted. He kept Sara’s promise about not telling her family she was alive, even though he knew how much they would hurt knowing.
In the first crossover, when Barry told everyone about Flashpoint, literally everyone was pissed off; I mean, sure, he shouldn't have done that, but do you blame him? Oliver was the one who talked to him, who told him that it was okay and that he would’ve done the same exact thing if he had Barry‘s powers.
Oliver saved a Roy Harper, who idolized him as his hero; who would sacrifice his life for him. And he has, because Oliver Queen would do the same for him, he has. He gave Roy a home, a family, and made sure he wouldn't blame himself for the time he got drugged or every time he was scared.
Oliver Queen blames himself for everything wrong that happens; he’s swallowed up in all the guilt. He still thinks he’s at fault and that maybe he‘s a parasite that just harms anything and everything he touches. He is such a mistreated character, both by the characters on the show and by the writers.
Oliver Jonas Queen is my hero. And he is the Green Arrow.

You know, it makes me really sad every time people have hurt E1 Laurel and when they hurt E2 Laurel for not being the Laurel they knew.
