Would. Would it be alright if I posted memes for Throw Me to the Wolves? After you answered my last ask I may or may not have gone on a frenzied meme creation spree. And I definitely have not been working myself up to sending this ask in for the past week because I was afraid you would think I was wierd. Anyway. Say the word and I will unleash the Throw Me to the Wolves memes upon the world. Or just ignore this ask lmao. Thank you šŸ˜…

Yes omg!!! Sorry again for replying late! This isn't weird at all, in fact this would be like the best Christmas present ever, I am so beyond honored šŸ„ŗ

Writing Red Wedding 2.0 and deciding who lives and who dies is such a power trip

Throw me to the wolves is literally the best thing i've read in a while. Your writing and your ideas are A M A Z I N G āœØšŸ’Tbh i kinda lost interest in reading fics but when i accidentally stumbled across your work, i was hooked halfway through the first chapter and had no problem gobbling up 50 chapters in a week.

TMTTW is canon in my head idc. You managed to make me genuinely root for an OC, saved the Starks and expanded on their stories, and basically rewrote GOT while still respecting the source material.

Pleasee keep up the good work, but most importantly, PLEASE DO NOT KILL OFF MY BABIES ALYSOBB šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

xx

so sorry for the late reply! this genuinely made my day to read, and I've reread it several times since you sent it.

thank you so so much ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Hey can update on when you will post the next chapter of tmttw? I recently read it and am obsessed with it.

Hi! I hope to have it out sometime this next week! I wanted to have it out earlier but I havenā€™t had a lot of time to work on it with the holidays and all :(

Thanks for reading! šŸ„°ā¤ļø

This sounds so evil but I wish Robb and Jaime had been there when Alysanne walked into the burning pyre. I wonder how they would have reacted.

Oooo that would have been so fun to write. If youā€™re evil than Iā€™m evil, because I also kinda wish the same!

I mean, neither reacts well, obviously. For Robb, I donā€™t think itā€™s an image he would ever be able to get out of his head. I havenā€™t mentioned it yet, but itā€™s something that Arya and Jon have emotionally moved past. Once there is no more war, no more problems to focus on, it creeps in.

It doesnā€™t really matter that Alysanne lived, because for the hours it took for the flames to die Alysanne was as good as gone to Arya and Jon. For those hours, they truly believed theyā€™d watched her walk to her death and there was nothing they could do.

I think it would be the same for Robb, if not worse. There would be nothing he could do but watch the flames, watch her burn. That helplessness is something that would nearly kill him, and it isnā€™t a feeling heā€™d easily forget.

In tmttw, he forgives her easily enough because he didnā€™t actually see it. Itā€™s not entirely real to him. He believes what Alysanne has told him of course, but it is still something so far removed, so unbelievable, that he can almost forget it.

If he had witnessed it, I really donā€™t think heā€™d have forgiven her so easily. Heā€™d be relieved, of course, but like Arya there is a lot of anger. It would be impossible for him to forget how agonizing it was to wait through the night, to know that there is nothing that can be done to save her.

I donā€™t know how long it would have taken for him to be able to look at her and not see her standing in the flames, burning. It was reckless, impulsive, and that recklessness and impulsivity is a side of Alysanne that Robb wouldnā€™t have seen before. Heā€™s seen bits of it since her return, and Iā€™m excited to explore that more!

As for Jaime, I think he would shut down. That is his worst fear (whether he would know it as such yet) realized before his eyes. Itā€™s a numbing pain, and like Robb, the feeling of helplessness. He canā€™t even mourn Addam because heā€™s just watched his daughter walk into his funeral pyre.

He is of course relieved to see her still alive at the end of it all, and I donā€™t think he holds as much anger as Robb does.

Under that relief, though, is fear. Jaime has seen that recklessness and impulsiveness before, but not in Alysanne. Itā€™s an echo, though distant, of what he witnessed in Rhaegar and even Aerys, to some extent. Heā€™d have to wonder about her sanity, and I think heā€™d begin to be a bit fearful of her, of what sheā€™s capable of.

Thanks for the question, anon!!! I had a lot of fun answering this šŸ„°

Hi! I just wanted to say how much I love Throw me to the Wolves! Itā€™s easily one of my favourite fics Iā€™ve ever read, it has such a hold on me, and I think of it constantly! I love the characters in it and their relationships and interactions with each other as well, Robb and Alysanne are such a power couple! Iā€™m so curious as to when Jaime and Alysanne will realize that Cersei had something to do with Shaenaā€™s death! With Alysanneā€™s dream in the last chapter about the woman and the poison coming from her stomach, Iā€™m guessing itā€™ll be sometime soon. Even if it doesnā€™t happen anytime soon, Iā€™ll be looking forward to that moment! Also the scene with the dragon riding last chapter left me with such a thrill too! I canā€™t believe that the dragons are already big enough to ride now, it leaves open so many possibilities especially with the war campaign, I canā€™t wait to see what youā€™ll choose to do with the dragons! This is getting long but thank you for your writing, I mustā€™ve re-read this fic at least four times. Iā€™m really looking forward to the next chapter whenever that may be! I hope youā€™re having a good day btw <3

Omg hi!!! Tumblr didn't notify me that you sent this, I'm so sorry!!!

Thank you so much for such a sweet message! You're exactly spot on with Alysanne's dream, I'm glad that came through! Also the dragon riding, I was so worried about that scene as I had really no idea how to go about it. I hope my plans for them live up to expectations šŸ˜Š

It always makes me so so happy to hear people reread this fic. Especially because it's somehow ended up 300k words. I'm truly so flattered, you have no idea.

Again, thank you for the lovely message! It made my day.

Can you please give us a sneak peak of the next chapter šŸ„¹

You sent this way back in January (oh my god it's been so long since I've updated) and I finally feel like I have a substantial bit that isn't likely to be scrapped or rewritten entirely. Enjoy!

A golden dragon dipped low, buffeting wind over the crowd with a flap of its wings. The crowd clapped and cheered, and even Tommen could not help a smile.Ā

The trio had taken to the skies even before Tommen left to walk the shoreline. Alysanne said the more they flew, the stronger the dragons would grow and the further they could fly. Or so she thought, anyway.

Briefly, Tommen wondered if Alysanne, Aegon, and Jon were as disappointed as he that Lord Rykker had capitulated so swiftly. Surely, they must have been curious to know how much destruction even a small dragon could reap, curious to know what it was to face an army from dragonback.

Passively, Tommen knew he ought not wish to see such things. Yet a part of him cursed Lord Rykkers good sense. Tommen did not think he could be blamed for feeling so, for wishing for a song of his own. Not when heā€™d been raised on grand tales of his fatherā€™s rebellion, like the songs of the harrowing Battle of the Bells, the terrible Siege of Storm's End. Duskendale had been his last chance to see any such battle.Ā

That was not entirely true, of course. He could still wet his blade when Aegon took Kingā€™s Landing. As he watched the dragons, he allowed himself to imagine it - riding atop a courser, sword in hand, cutting down faceless, shadowed men who stood in his way. The men would not be mere shadows, he swiftly reminded himself. They would wear the red and gold of his motherā€™s house, the black and gold of his once-fatherā€™s, perhaps even Joffrey would don armor and ride amongst his men.Ā

The thought of meeting Joffrey, sword in hand, did not horrify him as he knew it ought. But there was a certain thrill that came with imagining his face as Tommen forced him to his knees, the sputtered anger, mottled red and purple flush; Tommen knew that look well.Ā

Also I took down the AI portaits of the characters. Didn't know when I did them that AI rips off artists and I don't want to be a part of that. So if anyone was wondering, that's why.

Do you think Tywin truly loves Alysanne? I suppose beneath all the anger and disapproval, he does have some begrudging respect for her. He taught her how to be politically astute and she lived up to it.

Ooo this is a good question! The short answer is that he loves her to an extent. His love has limits. He loves her so long as she is useful to him and playing by his rules.Ā

I donā€™t think Tywin is capable of loving someone unconditionally. Maybe he truly loved Joanna, we donā€™t know. We only have the accounts of the people who knew him then, two of those accounts being his children who were very young.Ā

I think his love for Jaime and Cersei is conditional and hinged on their usefulness as pawns for his own ambition. His reaction to Jaimeā€™s capture, in my opinion, is not one of outrage for his son but rather outrage for the perceived slight against him and House Lannister.Ā

This extends to Alysanne. He loved her when she was in Winterfell, when she listened to what he taught and heeded his words. He loved her as a political pawn, a toehold in the distant North. He loved the idea that he would have an (at that point in time) obedient and biddable granddaughter as the Lady of Winterfell. So long as Alysanne did as directed, she was worthy of his ā€œlove.ā€Ā

You're right in that he certainly respects her political acumen, but he does not love her in the way we understand familial love. He might have said he loved her at one point (pre-fall of Casterly Rock), but he does not love Alysanne the woman. He loves Alysanne the pawn. If she were to die he would not grieve his granddaughter, he would grieve the lost potential her position would grant him.Ā

TMTTWā€™s version of the Red Wedding is a good example of this. His concern was not for her happiness. Tywinā€™s goal was not only to end the war but also to bring her back under his control by any means necessary. Jaime is right in that Tywin would have expected Alysanne to eventually fall back in line and bend to his will. And if she refused and Tywin no longer had use for her, he would have discarded her. Perhaps to the Silent Sisters or to confinement in the Rock.Ā

(There is also the angle that the Red Wedding was, in part, an opportunity for him to punish Alysanne for her taking of Casterly Rock. That was a huge blow to him, and Tywin cannot countenance an affront of that nature.)

So Tywin might say he loves her (and his children), but his version of love is not truly love. I would venture to say that Tywin has, at the very least, narcisstic tendencies. Like Cersei, he sees his children (and grandchildren) as extensions of himself. It is part of why he hates Tyrion - Tyrion is the most like him, and he despises what he sees.Ā

Thank you for the question! I always love the chance to ramble about things like this ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

If there's an asoiaf afterlife, I can imagine poor Ned looking down and being so shocked to see Alysanne hatch dragons and his son being crowned the King šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ (or even Robert, he would be livid to see the 'dragonspawn' fly on real dragons)

Poor Ned can't find a moment of peace even in death. His eldest son is given a crown and forced to fight a war which may bring their doom, his foster daughter accidentally performs ancient blood magic by walking into the burning funeral pyre of her sworn sword/pseudo father in a maybe-suicide attempt (jury is still out up where Ned is) and wakes THREE dragons from stone, his eldest daughter is rescued from King's Landing by his hostage who she now insists on marrying, and his youngest daughter is married to the returned from the dead Aegon Targaryen, who up until now Ned thought had been murdered. His other son is gay and in love with the bastard of Cersei and Jaime and his 10 year old son is acting Lord of Winterfell. Oh also his nephew-son is married to the Princess of Dorne and rides a dragon and will return to live out his days in the same land Ned carried him and his mother's bones from. All very normal.

Robert can't decide if he's more angry at the return of Targaryens or that he was cucked and has no legitimate children of his own. One brother died at the hand of the other, who is now missing after a humiliating defeat. Common Baratheon W. Also he has no wine in the afterlife.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the relationship between Alysanne and Arianne. Would you say they're friends?

This is a dynamic I'm excited to explore more!!! In short they're not enemies, but neither are they friends exactly.

Ultimately they should be, right? They're two powerful women, who both feel overlooked by their fathers in some ways, navigating this society that does not want to allow women to do much but what is expected of them.

I think the downfall of that could-be friendship is that they are both prideful (to a degree) and headstrong with goals that, ultimately, do not align. Arianne did not want Aegon to cede the North. If she had things her way, Robb would have knelt to Aegon. She wants justice for Elia and Rhaenys, and Alysanne has already spoken in defense of Jaime. In Arianne's mind, Alysanne might do the same for Tywin.

And Alysanne does not trust that Arianne won't push for Jaime's head. And as much as she recognizes it as a smart political move (and would have done the same), she doesn't like that Arianne out played her in a way with the betrothal offer for Arya-Aegon (Aegon played a part too, of course, but does Alysanne view it that way?).

In another life I think they would have been great friends. They would be formidable if they worked together!

Thank you for the ask šŸ˜Š
