'just... press this button when you're ready.' he pointed to the spacebar on the device before patting tsu'tey on the back and walking back towards the airlock doors. he glanced back at him one last time before nodding sadly and closing the door behind him, leaving tsu'tey alone.

tsu'tey blinked back at the empty space where jake was just standing before looking down at the screen. his heart ached as he noticed the finger marks on the corner of the device; your finger marks.

'okay, that's the log for the day. over and out!' you attempt to switch the camera off, but you unknowingly miss the button and place the camera down on the steps with the lens facing towards the two of you; neither of you noticing the blinking red button.

tsu'tey leaned forward as his heart skipped a beat; his mouth falling open.

'this... this moment was documented?' he whispered to himself as his heart began to race. he remembered what followed this interaction; and he remembered it well.

'ah... so your lies were all for the camera?' he teases, bumping your shoulder with his own. the sun is setting on pandora as the two of you look out to the vibrant sky above the lab. tsu'teys fingers twitch slightly as his eyes drift to you; watching the sky with a soft smile. he hesitates, before whispering softly to you. 'do you feel as though you have found your home here?'

your eyes shift from the sky to tsu'tey, who is watching you expectantly.

tsu'tey continued to watch the footage with wide eyes, as if he was reliving this moment for the first time. his heart fluttered wildly in his chest and his face was mere inches from the screen.

a soft smile tugs as your lips as you meet tsu'teys gaze.

'i do...' you say to him as you both look to each other in a short, comfortable silence.

'well... i am glad.' he whispers once again as he raises his hand and softly moves a piece of hair from your face. his hand lingers as you look to his lips, to his eyes and then back to his lips. the two of you remain like that for a few moments before tsu'tey reaches forward and pulls you towards him by your waist.

'you are?' you ask in a breathy whisper as he nods his head and brings his face closer to yours.

you were both, once again, worlds apart. out of reach from each other as his soul desperately called out to you.

the footage served as a reminder.
