Uncanny X-Men and the Teen Titans by Walt Simonson, with Inks by Terry Austin, and Colors by Glynis Wein.
Oop—guess who forgot to add her mcfreakin Silver Surfer poster? MEee.

But who cares about continuity, am I right?
Anyways—I’ve been nonstop doodling my main squeeze “Midas” because I think she looks cool, and my latest hyper fixation just so happens to be X-Men.
While my hyper fixations are usually dumb and don’t help me in the slightest, this one is actually incredibly helpful for me!
It’s been making me want to design rooms, draw more fleshed out backgrounds, and actually be consistent w/ my character designs.
Plus it’s also got me experimenting with brushes on IBISPAINT, which is fun.
SOoo yeah!

Just finished the first issue of Gail Simone's Uncanny, and this page, as a longtime reader, felt like a real punch right in the gut. Callously tearing apart the interior of the school is just OOF. Not just tearing out the school, but tearing out my heart.
All that aside, I thought it was a pretty great issue. I like that it really focused in on just a few characters, so we really get to hear Gail's take on their voices, and it set a good base to build off of. It started as a simple adventure, took a sharp turn into all the feels, and then set about setting the stage for this run. It keeps things pretty simple, and looks to expand a bit fast.
I'm very interested to see where this goes.
That bear knows how to write compelling comics.
Okay so the blonde (Calico) is formerly from wealth, raised to hate mutants, still struggling with internalized mutant-hate. Power is a psychic connection to her horse, which is basically her STAND by the sound of it.
Deathdream is undead, his powers allowing him to connect to spirits and other death related abilities.
Jitter (blue outfit) has a hyperfocus ability that lets her master abilities in bursts, but she will mentally crash if she uses her powers to long.
Ransom has a black hole for a heart, and was abandoned by his parents when he was kidnapped for a ransom.

Interesting spread of abilities.
Hope they survive the experience.
