i’ve just finished reading skulduggery pleasant until the end and this is hands down funky town the best scene in the entirety of phase 2 for me
Thinking back to how this was the first interaction we saw between Scarlett and Steve
"Care to explain why you are late?" Mrs. Daniels' cold voice cut through the air as she looked at Steve who shrugged innocently "Bathroom emergency." Steve smiled purely as Mrs. Daniels' eyes narrowed at the boy before he quickly moved to sit down while the old woman started the lesson.
"You might want to fix your appearance." Scarlett said as she leaned over in Steve's direction, who turned to look at her questioningly "Some people might start to think you have become the school's prostitute with that lipstick on you and messed up shirt." The girl leaned back, leaving Steve to quickly fix his shirt and wipe his mouth, hoping to remove the lipstick. Afterwards he threw a small paper ball at Scarlett's head, causing her to look at him annoyed as Steve silently asked her if he looked less like a prostitute. Scarlett's answer sent the boy into a sheer state of panic, his hair was holy to him.

With a few large steps, Steve caught up to Scarlett. "Hey babe," He said, making the young woman turn around, instantly she smiled. Scarlett received no chance to reply however as Steve wormed his arms around her smaller frame. Steve gasped. "You're cold," He tightened his grip on her, nuzzling his nose against her temple and rubbing his large hands up and down her arms. "What happened?" He whispered.
Relishing in Steve's warm grip, Scarlett let out a content sigh. "It's storming outside," She muttered, her posture relaxed into Steve's frame and he instinctively wrapped an arm around her waist to steady her. "Oh, I got a new car." She rolled her head back to look up at Steve, lips curling up. Scarlett wiggled a hand up between her and Steve's bodies and brushed a highlighted strand of hair out of the way of Steve's pretty face.
Ignore the development in my writing, just look at how these two have developed 😭 i love them
