Walking in a Winter Wonderland
The snow outside is freshly fallen. The starry sky is pink and still. In the distance, you hear the calling Of music and sleigh bells downhill.
The sounds of carols and children laughing, And your footsteps walking through the snow, Are all you hear as your joy is rising On your journey, through this town, back home.
The lights hanging on the houses and trees Make the magical night bright as day. Red and green are all that you can see, And you barely know what to say.
You arrive at the house just in time, And are greeted by family and friends. Then you suddenly hear the clock chime, And you hope that this night never ends.
tiny pockets of bliss #1
It’s almost wintertime! It doesn’t snow here but the mornings are freezing!
anyway, this is a requested poem from a friend for her story. Enjoy! Winter
Winter’s cold breath lures me from sleep;
The crisp bite nipping at my skin as I wake
Frosted windows, breath of fog, crystals forming on the glass;
As the sky gently lets down small snowflakes
Dew collects on leaves, dripping down the windowsill;
Forming icicles that glimmer in dawn’s light
The fire crackles cozily in a warm hearth
As snow blankets the ground in a soft white
The fresh scent of pine drifts through the air
As I run through trees with their lush green leaves;
Their branches laden with heavy snow
As lovely violas bloom at morning’s eve
