Wow, it's been a hot minute since I was last here in an interacting, not lurking way, but let's try this again!

I'm Jade, a 30-something year old mama and storyteller cleverly disguised as a grown ass woman. I have trouble with consistency and I hate being in charge, but I promise I can tell a good story.

Things have been gradually getting to be too much over the past ... 8 or 9 months or so? I have a bad habit in which I'll set reasonable goals and schedules for myself, get bored at the difficulty level, and start increasing the intensity of too many things, too quickly, without giving myself time to adjust to anything properly, and then wonder why I feel like I'm drowning. It's something I'm working on.

There's this app called Sprout? It helps. You get a cute bird friend to help encourage you to complete tasks and take care of yourself. Message me if you're on Sprout, too, and you want a friend!

So yeah, I'm a mama first, always. I started working part time at my youngest gremlin's preschool, but I'll be backing off that a little bit soon, so that should give me a consistent day to create.

My original stories that I first started telling everyone about? They've changed so much! I have a different structure, now, and so many potential new stories to write. The same premise, though - A world in which a small portion of the population has superpowers. A country in which you either register your superpowers with the government so that you can use them legally (sanctioned), or don't register them, gaining the title non-Sanctioned, and risk imprisonment or worse if you're found out. And of course, the theme to the series is action/thriller romance in which the villain (or vigilante) gets the girl, because heroes are nice and all, but at the end of the day, don't you want someone willing to burn the world down just to see you smile? I'll go on more about it in another post, don't want to make this one drag on too long.

Oh! And I started a business, bc of course I didn't have enough I was trying to do already, but it's already registered and legal and everything, even if I don't have my own website up yet. I've been learning about how to put websites together, so if you have any questions about that, feel free to drop a question to me! Once I get over the imposter syndrome, I'll be wanting to work with authors, especially romance authors, and I know Squarespace best, but I know a lot of "best practice" stuff that's helpful for any platform, too.

So yeah, if any of this peaks your interest, feel free to say hi. Like I said, I'm inconsistent and trying to work out why I'm not getting notifications that people have been messaging me? I set an alarm to help me remember to check that regularly, so communication should improve (if you have messaged me and are waiting on a response, I'm so sorry!)

Hello, out there! I'm a writer who has been on Tumblr for a while (since before the purge). Often I would post things only to delete them later, but I'm planning on changing the habit.

ahhh i absolutely love this. i'm a korean-american writer of ya romance or fantasy (mythology).

not fully fleshed out but people are free to ask about my current wip, where i dabble with east asian folklore and korean colonization. currently labeled "princess bari," it's a mythological fantasy that deals with colonization and the downfall of a kingdom, and features benevolent dragons and (obviously) deaths with high-risks. i'd love any asks about it!

other than that, i post random writing memes, writing tips/resources, fanfic drabbles, and pretty much anything i'm feeling at the moment.

24hr novel challenge

going to try and write a novel in 24 hrs (which we know I won't, since I didn't even finish this goddamn outline but it's more like watch as I try to finish this OUTLINE in 24 hrs so I can finally write my book in time for nano)

and who knows, maybe if I finish plotting like I said I would the last 7 months I'll try the 24 hr novel attempt all over again.

✎ Sun and Shadow

Everything goes wrong for Freya Ula when she leaves her simple life as a fisherwoman to get engaged overseas. Her ship gets wrecked, she finds out her dad's been hiding secrets from her for her whole life, and, oh, she gets framed for a terrorist attack. Wait, WHAT!? After the city's greatest detective is attacked and disappears before she could consult with him, Frey has to enlist the help of his kid and her would-be fiancée to find out who framed her and clear her name. If only Crow was half as good a detective their dad was supposed to be.

Main characters: Freya, Crow, Daleira

✦ Urban-esque high fantasy ✦ purposely very tropey in places ✦ however, as always, I love throwing in curveballs. Wonder what's played straight and what I'm going to emotionally destroy you with. Definitely won't be Crow.

✦ Slow-burn romance between Freya and Crow ✦ immediate interest between Freya / Daleira ✦ oh, look, it's a love triangle? ✦ JOKE'S ON YOU, IT'LL ACTUALLY BE POLY ✦ it's just... going to take a while.

✦ Lesbians, lesbians everywhere ✦ though Crow is actually genderfluid and uses they/them for the first book ✦ despite barely having anything written I've already plotted a bit of book 2 ✦ I desperately need help.

✎ The Arcane Rifts

Ghosts of past tragedies haunt the town of Kavo after decades of neglect. Fantastical creatures desiring nothing but fear and destruction hide in invisible tears in reality. Gangs and the police are at constant war with one another, there's a shapeshifting monster running amok, and the mayor's assistant suddenly wants a disabled orphan kicked to the streets. A year ago, Gene was discovered in the forest on the outskirts of town, half dead, amnesiac, and unable to even speak the local language. As he had nowhere to go, he was brought to the orphanage of Kavo for a place to stay. Now Caspar, the assistant of the mayor and the man who funds the orphanage, wants him kicked out. When Gene's left to the cold, cruel streets of Kavo on his own, he has to navigate through a town ravaged by decades of neglect and intrigue. Has the corruption truly been purged from the government? Why are godly forces active in Kavo, a small town in a backwater country? And most importantly--will Gene survive?

Main Characters: Gene, Tazin, Mislav, Ludmila, Rada ❧ Gene and Tazin for book 1 ❧ the other 3 start being MCs books 2 and 3 ❧ I guess Nikolai is also a MC tho

❧ Industrial-era rustic high fantasy ❧ mixes fantasy, action, horror, and mystery! ❧ oh helloooooo "ominous feychild" origin? ❧ very strong folkloric and traditional fantasy inspo ❧ except I mean "traditional fantasy" as in ❧ "we don't understand this magic stuff but we're used to it" ❧ not "travel the world adventures!"

❧ VERY involved story with strong themes of discrimination, poverty, exploitation, trauma, and the recovery from trauma ❧ each main and secondary character is one flavor of discriminated against or another in-universe ❧ obviously I try to write it respectfully, but you can't really write bigots being bigots "respectfully"

❧ Has two "main plots" going on simultaneously; technically three ❧ I periodically give the reader updated "character guides" ❧ like they get more recent plot info added kinda like a red-string board to keep you, the audience, up-to-date with info you might've otherwise missed ❧ I think it's really cool and people seem to enjoy it ❧ I know it seems like a lot but please give it a chance

❧ I've literally plotted out pretty much the entirety of the first and second books, and know most of how book 3 will go, yet there's very little out for the current version of the story ❧ part of that is because I'm paused on the 3rd draft

❧ There's lots of timeskips throughout the first two books, but they're mostly to age up the protagonists! Gene, the MC, starts the series at 7. I promise it's not a kid's story though.

❧ The "secondary MC", Nikolai, is the police chief investigating magical stuff going on at the same time. They tie in with the main story involving Gene, though won't appear to for a long while.

❧ The "golden child" series I love more than SaS; however it's on hiatus because I promised people to work on SaS first and SaS is more popular as a romance-focused story. :/ ❧ I would never be salty about that.

I'm talking middle eastern men as honest protectors, an incubus with asexual qualities, disabled faefolk, and soft gardener orcs. WIP I post about most. This is where I store my hate for capitalism, my trauma, my hope, and my kink for fangs. Urban fantasy, 100k+, queer relationships, and smut

Criminals from districts 2-4 are sometimes made to work in district 1 for 'rehabilitation', subject to demonic contracts that get extended over any slight the demons perceive in your service to them.

Four characters are caught up in this system of subjugation and they each have their own ideas of handling it: complacency in servitude, manipulating a way to escape, diplomacy to bring change, and revenge fueled rebellion.

♦️🤠Post Paedicom:

Version of our world where monsters, witches, and an original humanoid race called Elja exist- all of which are considered dangerous by humans.

Takes place in Texas where two men, a witch and an Elja, fall for each other whilst hiding among humans and quietly keeping their town safe from monsters. Casually writing for now but may post art at some point.

♦️⚔️Prodigium

Historic precursor to Post Paedicom when there were kings and carriages and sexy swordplay. Before the modern era where Elja are considered either government dogs or rogue monsters. In this era, the strong monster-immune species had a thriving civilization that lived in mutualism with humans, offering protection from monsters in exchange for produce and other farmed resources.

This story is about the downfall of Eljankind, the deception of a coven of witches, and the punishing freedom of love.

Hi, my name is Lilly, otherwise known as @nallthatjazz , and it’s about time I actually introduced myself :)

I’d just like to start off by saying I’m definitely not new to the Writblr community, however this will be my first time introducing myself as I’ve never actually been brave enough to put myself out there so I’ve been ‘lurking in the shadows’ in the meantime so to speak. (Is it obvious that I have no idea what I’m doing and that I’m nervous? Am I using the word ‘myself’ too much?)

A little bit about myself;

18 years old (Aries baby here), she/her, British/Irish, ravenclaw

I really love folklore, mythology and what else have you; also a strong believer in the supernatural and the paranormal

I enjoy reading, watching movies, drawing, knitting, daydreaming, exploring, being outside in nature and writing

I’m a serious procrastinator - my “talent” is daydreaming about all my novel ideas etc. Instead of writing and calling it “brainstorming”

I’ve done lots of weird, aesthetic and stupid stuff - I once got stuck in the baby seat of a trolley and had to be cut out by firemen (in my defence I fit, I just couldn’t get out)

I like knowledge and being curious

Fiction is my jam, I like lots of different genres but I prefer to read some variation of fantasy the most

My blog will consist of my writing or work, reblogs from other writblrs and a few writing prompts, and a personal post here or there. I have several WIPs, and I’m constantly alternating between them or starting new ones or abandoning some.

I mostly write YA/NA fiction, fantasy, contemporary, thriller, supernatural/paranormal, mystery, dystopian, sci-fi, romance, adventure, occult/gothic, dark academia, poetry - however this is only speculative and I probably expand into other stuff or I might only drabble a little into the stuff I’ve listed. (Can you tell I’m bad at describing my writing? This is a great start)

I’ll do an actual separate “project teaser” type post about my WIPs at some point that’ll go in a bit more depth; some will be less or more detailed than others so I’m sorry for the inconsistency in advance. (I feel like this introduction is going terribly so I’m sorry)

I’m not new to writblr I did an introduction a while ago but I ended up never posting anything because life and my mental health got in the way and I actually ended up abandoning writing for some time, but I’m better and things are better so I’m going to give it another go. Hello, my name is Lilly, my pronouns are she/they, and my hobbies include being unhinged and feral, daydreaming, and hoarding books. Personality type is INFP-T, do with that what you will.

The writer; babbling prophet who occasionally strikes god gold, contemporary, fantasy, starting projects and never finishing them, sci-fi, gothic horror, descriptions descriptions descriptions, unsure how to perceive myself so this is pretty speculative.

The aesthetic; wildflowers, tangled hair and skimmed knees, divine madness, not entirely human, the soft glow of an orange streetlight in winter, raging storms, magic with a price, liminal spaces, frogs, frost, body horror, enemies to lovers.
