I just had a funny thought

What if Rook was much more stronger than anyone thought and was able to lift things even auron couldn't lift like one of the employees had their work lost their pen under a cabinet and Rook just simply just lifted it up in front of auron and he just....0-0....damn

Or a time where the Bittersweet crew, Rook and auron meet in person and rook was having an argument with Seth and rook had enough of it so they be like..

Rook: you know what I'm done I'm taking auron and leaving

And they just picked him up and threw him over their shoulder and he's questioning why he's the top when there's so much stronger than him.

So I haven't mentioned this but, uh, I mayyy have created my own AU for the sillies ._.

Possibly being in a mob together in their shared past that was way worse than the gang Auron runs?

(quick note, my version of Sugarboo uses he/him pronouns!)

So the story begins with our beloved Sugarboo after the events of Bittersweet (this is being written in early May of 2024, so this is after the end of chapter 3)

During the events of Bittersweet, Sugarboo played more of a supporting role, mostly hanging out in the background, and that was for a reason.

You see, the oh-so lovable Sugarboo that we know, has a very very dark past. The past that Alphonse and Seth had to uncover, is not very different than Sugarboo's own past.

His is just... More horrific

You know how Sugarboo was so quick to pocket Alphonse's gun and go to shoot Derick? His hesitation wasn't because it would change how Alphonse and Seth would look at him, he didn't care about that, but because killing Derick would break a promise he made to himself years before.

What was that promise, you may ask?

To never kill or hurt anyone ever again

He had made that promise after barely getting out of the mob he unfortunately found himself trapped in.

That's right you heard me, a mob, not a gang like our lovable idiot duo was in, but a country-wide, deep deep underground mob, where killing someone was your first reaction, and being killed was considered mercy.

Sugarboo's role in the whole thing:

Sugarboo was one of the more unfortunate ones, joining the mob by force than by choice. You see, just as Auron has talent scouts, so did the mob.

Just their methods were a bit... Different

Sugarboo was a very kind person before they were scouted. The scouts wanted him for his wit, agility, and other qualities. When the scouts approached Sugarboo, he downright refused. He wasn't a person who hurt others, let alone kill people

...they say pain is very convincing

(one more detail: Sugarboo's torso is littered with scars, so he's never taken his shirt off around others including Seth and Al. He also still has nightmares of what they did to him)

And this, is where Sugarboo's individual story ends, and we get to meet our 2 other friends that are here to help

More AU lore, who cheered?

We already know a bit about Casper's childhood thanks to Charlie, but I wanted to add a bit more spice to it, as well as what happened after Casper moved!

(quick note: I've seen people color-code names so I'm gonna try and do that, though I don't know if specific characters have specific shades, so bear with me here! :])

First off, Cas' parents weren't the best. They were very absent, preferring to spend their time and money on alcohol and drugs instead of on their child. This is why Cas spends so much time with Charlie, he was the only thing they had.

Then, Casper's dad lost his job, and they had to move back in with Casper's grandparents who lived hours away. That last week with Charlie was horrible, knowing that they had to leave the person that they held closest to their heart, the person who they loved, all because their stupid dad couldn't hold a job.

They didn't stay at their grandparents long. Or rather, Cas didn't stay there long. They got a job in the new town, and saved money till they had enough to get an apartment. It was old and broken down, but it was better than the crampt, smoke-filled house they were forced to move to.

Life was hard for a while, Cas had to get a second job in a shady area. It was scary, but to Cas it was worth it. Everything came to a head, thought, when they were jumped one night.

They were just heading home from their second job, when a group of thugs jumped them for their wallet. It was the scariest moment of Casper's life up till then, they didn't know if they would stop at their wallet, if they would hurt them.

Then, they heard some shouting from the distance, and before they knew it, the thugs that had jumped them were gone.

And in their place stood someone else. A well dressed man who helped them up from the ground and made sure they had their wallet and everything. This was strange to Casper, as no one has shown them real kindness in a long time.

The new stranger offered for him to walk Casper home, and Cas agreed.

While they walked, Casper got to know the stranger a bit. His job was to gather intel for his boss (thought he never said who) and that he was walking back from another mission when he saw Casper in distress. The stranger felt bad for them, so he decided to help.

It was nice talking to the new stranger. When they got to his apartment, the new friend surprised them once more.

"Is this your place?" He said, surprised by how run-down the building was.

"Yeah," Casper sighed, "it's not great, but it's the best I can afford"

"Best you can afford? Do you not have a good job?" The man turned to look at Cas.

"No, I work at the convenience store down the street and the food counter in the bowling alley down town" Casper looked down at the ground as they kicked a rock "they don't pay much, but it's all I can get for now."

"Really?" The stranger looked in shock before they began to think a bit. "What are you good at?"

"Huh?" Cas looked back up.

"What are you good at? Can you fight? Are you really smart with numbers? Can you talk to people well?" He listed a few things out.

"Well, I was really interested in computers when I was in High School. I hacked the school Chromebooks so I could do whatever I wanted on them" Casper smiled at the memory, it was one of their greatest achievements in school.

"Well then," Casper's new friend smiled "how would you like a job as a hacker and intel agent? You seem like you'll do perfectly"

"Wait, really?" Casper stood in shock, had this stranger really offered him a job? As a hacker no less?

"Yeah, it pays really well. Thought, there are a few details that might make you rethink it-" the man began but was cut off by Casper.

"Yes! Yes! Oh my gosh yes!" Casper jumped, smiling wide "I know you're probably in some shady business, but I don't care if I have to hack some rich guys computer or whatever, I'll do it!"

The man just smiled at Casper and laughed. "Well then, I'll come get you tomorrow to meet the boss then."

Casper just smiled as they watched their new friend walk away. "oh, by the way" Casper called out, "what's your name?"

The man turned and smiled once more. "Rook" is all he said "can't wait to start working with you, Casper"

I'm at a not-so-fun pint at the moment with my AU bc of a few things,

1. I have to write Rook's backstory but I still have no idea for his backstory

2. I didn't know much about Lucian, and one of those facts is that I didn't know his listener was called Angel (and that may or may not have been a nick name for a character while they were in the mob (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠))

3. Still need to figure out the name for the AU! I'm thinking of having the name be something snake related, because I wanted to base the mob boss off of snakes. So far the only idea I have for the name is 'rattlesnakes tale' but, that doesn't really sound good

Finally figured out Rook lore for my AU, who cheered?

Rook's childhood was better than most. He was an A+ student in school, and had minimal bullying. With a bit of pushing from his parents, he persued a degree in law. While he was there, he met a girl and they fell in love.

Or at least, he thought they were in love. When you're so blinded by hearts, it's hard to notice the signs.

She started to become colder

Made him feel stupid

Made him hate himself

And did things to him that... He still regrets to this day.

Even after he finished law school and started working, it felt like she always had a grasp on him. He couldn't escape her, no matter where he was or how far away, she was always there.

That was until... The accident.

His parents were hit by a drunk driver. His dad was killed and his mother was put into a coma.

It was like life decided to play a sick joke on him. He lost his parents, then his job, and finally, his girlfriend.

Her leaving should have been a relief, not being under her constant gaze and judgement. After she left, thought, life felt suffocating.

He began to drown in debt while trying to pay for his mother's hospital bills. He was desperate, in need of a job, he didn't know what to do.

That was till a recruiter came to him, and offered a life-changing opportunity...

Also! While I was yapping about the lore to my besty, they were confused and asked for me to make a relationship chart for the characters, so I did and wanted to also share it here!

(edit: I didn't realize until now, but it looks like Auron and Charlie know Sugarboo, the blue is the relationships between them, Seth and Alphonse!)

One note though: you'll see a little nickname in parentheses next to Sugarboo, Rook and Casper's names. These were their code names in the mob.

Rook's was Ground Zero

Casper's was Ghosty

And Sugarboo's was Angel of Death (or just Angel, thought I might change it to be Death Angel bc of Lucien's listener)

Anyways, yapping over unless anyone wants to know the lore behind the code names!

So I have a list of smaller details for my listeners, and I'm trying to figure out which one of them would be a band kid, and who would be a drama kid (this is coming from both a drama and band kid) and it is so hard

All I have is that Rook is an orchestra kid, but orchestra is a LOT different from concert band/marching band

I forgot to grab my iPad to finish the drawings of Rook, Cas, and Sugarboo, so....

Here are some basic facts about the sillies from my mob AU! (Note: the code names are from when they were in the mob)
