Quick doodle of Zakia Roughshadow, Hadjarah’s mom. She was an Iron Legion soldier. Died when Flame Legion ambushed their camp not long after her cub’s birth. Trivia: her name and design are taken from Zakia, one of my oldest “The Lion King” OCs.
My buddy @hawkclash inspired me to draw some of our old* characters - Zakia and her Akili. There is a lot of story behind these two figures and their prides, hopefully it can be fully developed some day. *Old - it’s a redraw of a picture I did nearly TEN YEARS AGO.
Well, where to start? Zakia and Ruki, two very old characters of mine, members of the Burning Blood Pride, where Zakia is the leader and Ruki is her most loyal guard. They might look stern and not that nice, but it's just how their lifes shaped them. No, their tribe itself might be distrustful to strangers, but bloodshed and aggression are not their thing. Family and loyalty is all that matters. Back in my deviantart days, I did some pictured of the pride - check it out here, if you dare.
I have no idea why I'm going back to this. Want to go back to simplier times? Not really... 10 years ago, where this project was blooming in my head, I have just finished high school and started university. Those times were certainly not easy - just like it is now. I think I need to keep my head occupied with some imaginary lion family to get the bad thoughts away - just like those 10 years before. I have some other doodles of my old role-play felines in my sketchbook, might post them as an art dump someday. sry guys, just needed to vent a bit. everything seems fine, I moved with my favorite bearded guy together after years of living in different cities, have a bigger flat now, all my fish live with me again, I don't have to come home to an empty room after 2,5 years of loneliness - but my new workplace is wrecking me, my colleagues are cute and sweet ppl, but my boss makes me regret working in the profession I love with my whole heart and is the cause of my stress every sunday night. I want to give that place a chance, but it just feels like an enormous challenge and is nerve wrecking.
As you can see, I'm on my drawing spree (sry) Kii's new design, updated and more accurate. Now resembling her beloved grandmother much more :)
Oh, and I updated Burning Blood's family tree - now on FamilyEcho. It's easier to keep it up to date this way.

The older he is, the more feathers he gets. 3. Concept of a design for Tali, soon-to-be-member of the same pride Damaja is (Magharibi pride) from a small private role-play I write with my buddies. 4. Nuru, Damaja's twin brother. Belongs to ComicScribe from deviantART. 5. Zakia and adolescent Kii, grandma and granddaughter. 6. Final design for Tali.

Now, queen of the Burnt Forest - Zakia of Burning Blood. Zakia took over her father's nearly wiped-out pride after a tedious fight with him. Rebuilding the pride took a lot of time and required discipline, strength and bravery. She is a consequent, but loving ruler, who will go to great lengths to secure a bright futures for her pridemembers. The Burnt Forest bloomed once again under her rule.
