Tlk is on the brain again so I thought I’d share some of my human AU headcanons for Scar.
Also I want to point out that I do not self ship with Scar (because well he’s a lion). He is just a huge comfort character.
Anyway let’s get into it
Scar can speak both English and Swahili fluently. Even though he hates tradition, he stays connected to his heritage.
He has musical talent. He can sing really well and has perfect pitch. He plays piano and guitar. He doesn’t sing much as much as he did when he was younger because he gets all shy about it. (Don’t ask how I came up with this because I don’t even know it just came to me lol)
He’s pretty much in constant pain all the time, whether it be physical or mental. It’s usually both. He has a weak stomach. He has to be careful what he eats or it’ll make him sick. I’m contemplating what kind of food intolerance he has. Maybe it’s a combination of different things. His body is naturally thin but this makes him even skinnier. He gets migraines often. He has a bad back that will give out at random times without warning. And this man has some serious daddy issues/trauma so you know he’s a little messed up in the head. He’s his own worst enemy though. Anytime his family tries to help he just pushes them away. He’s also the king of inferiority complexes.
Music is a release from the pain. It’s his outlet. It hurts him to play his guitar standing up so he has to sit down but he’s just grateful he’s still able to play. If he ever lost the ability to play either of his instruments he’d be devastated.
I know I’ve said before that I love Scar x Zira but I’m not too sure now. In my hc they’re more like that couple that should be divorced but won’t because they have kids. The only reason Scar stayed with her was because he was desperate and lonely and Zira needed money and stability. They had a lot in common and there was genuine love at first but it faded out over time. Zira was obsessed with him but Scar wasn’t as devoted because deep down he’s still holding on to memories from a previous relationship. Angry about the subtle rejection, over time Zira built up resentment towards Scar.
I really like Scar x Sarafina. I know it wouldn’t have worked out in the end but it’s adorable while it lasts. Sarafina was his first love. They were young and happy together. But when Scar started to go down a dark path, she had to break it off. This broke his heart. He was so desperate for someone to fill the void that he just settled for Zira. He admires her loyalty but it’s just not the same.
Did Scar and Zira get a divorce later on in your Human AU or are they still together?

Anyway yeah, I feel like they would eventually get a divorce after the kids grow up. They have no reason to stay together anymore and they’re just very bitter. They both think they’ll be happier that way.

I’ve been rewatching the original planet of the apes movies, and Zira has to be the best character.
