A-writers-blurbs - It's Ya Girl Aurora
UNTITLED WIP
This is just something that randomly popped in my head. I'm thinking I might continue this & make it a full story. Idk yet though. I'm posting it on a few platforms to see if there's any interest before I spend the time writing the rest.
Sweat ran down her face mixing with blood and tears. For once, the blood wasn't Kagomes. But that didn't make things any better. Naraku had finally made his move and she only managed to get through the toughest battle of her life by the skin of her teeth.
Her riki mixed with both Inuyasha and Sesshoumarus combined strength had managed to bring down the vile hanyu once and for all.
It should have been perfect. They should have been safe at last! But even though the world hadn't ended...the victorious group wasn't so lucky. Looking around the battlefield Kagome became distraught. The mangled and broken bodies of her friends littered the ground.
Sango and Miroku were huddled next to each other with a sword skewering them together. Kirara was torn in two while Jaken was a mere green smear on the ground. Ah-Un had been beheaded, and his body was torn to pieces. Kikyo was nowhere to be found and Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru lay with gaping holes in their chests, a final 'fuck you' from Naraku she supposed. Even the children weren't spared as Shippo, Rin, and Kohaku lay piled together in the bushes.
Unconsciously she wished with all her heart and soul for everyone to get another chance because none of them.deserved this. They fought too hard for too long to just end in their demise.
She watched as the jewels light slowly faded to nothingness leaving behind an empty shell, like the hollow eyes of her group staring back at her accusingly. There was no way that its magic could return to the land of the living after it left the physical realm.
But it just didn't feel right. Everything about this situation felt wrong. The smell of burnt flesh filled her nose. It reminded her too much of how she lost control over her powers.
'I did this' a voice in the back of her mind whispered. Her breathing became shallow and uneven. This couldn't be real! Tears began streaming down her face mixing with the blood trickling out from underneath her ear and down her neck. Kagome wanted to scream but found that she couldn't produce enough air to let loose.
They were dead, the jewel wasn't showing signs of magic, and she didn't know what to do.
All Kagome knew is the feeling of helplessness. She felt hopeless, like she was going to break down if she tried to speak and everything went black. A sharp pain ripped through her head making her fall to her knees as her vision blurred and then turned completely white.
xxx
She woke up hours later near the bone eaters well disoriented and confused. "What's going on? How did I get here?"
"I brought you here." The cold voice of kikyo broke through Kagomes daze and she stared in wonder at what she was seeing. Kikyo was now alive. Truly alive. She could sense her living spirit and aura, unfortunately they were both tainted with jealousy and bitterness.
"You don't belong here copy. It's time you returned to your era once and for all."
She said her voice filled with hatred.
"How are you still alive? I watched Naraku kill you!" Kagome replied. The question felt more desperate than anything else she'd said in quite some time.
She needed answers. The truth.
If she was alive, that meant something must have happened. Something that changed everything.
"You can't continue living in my time if i am.to live my life beside Inuyasha." Kikyo spat. "But, he's dead. Everyone is!"
"Foolish copy! The power of the shikon has brought them back, stronger than before. The battle has been won and your quest is done. You are no longer needed. Go home."
"No! I'm not going anywhere until I know what happened!" Kagome shouted, standing up abruptly. Despite her injuries she remained defiant and stood tall, despite shrinking under her previous incarnations narrow gaze.
"Don't be so foolish! If you remain here, I'll have no choice but to kill you. You'll just die alone and unwanted! Leave!"
"No! Why should I leave jist because you dont want me here?!"
But instead if replying Kikyo physically retaliated instead. With a shove and a scream, Kagome felt herself falling backwards into darkness. Once again, she was plunged into oblivion.
xxx
When she opened her eyes once more it was bright and noisy. She groaned as a wave of dizziness overwhelmed her. Slowly, she lifted her hand to shield her face. As she moved her hand away, however, a gasp left her lips when she saw someone standing over her. She was surprised when she recognized who it was but before she could say anything, the figure leaned closer towards her. Her breath caught in her throat. "Kagome? When did you get home?"

Drabble 3
The audacity of the human woman was astounding. Here he was, generously allowing the Miko and her kit to follow him, and she had the nerve to make requests of him?
When had he sunk so low as to even congregate with humans? Let alone grant them requests. Nothing this onna said could possibly-
"I know you dont care for mine and Shippos' presence... but I'd very much like to travel with you a while longer, if that's ok. I think Rin could benefit from some tutoring." Well... that was certainly unexpected.
"What could you possibly teach this Sesshomaru's ward aside from outspokenness and spratic decision making?" It was a fair question. The Miko was an odd creature. She didn't conform to scocitial norms whatsoever.
Years ago, when she first appeared, she dressed so scandalousally that, had he not scented her purity, he would've thought she was a whore. She was loud, opinionated, strong willed, and never showed submission.
She was brash and loyal to a fault. But she showed proper respect when the situation called for it. Mostly. She was well mannered, protective of those she claimed as hers, she was clean and full of various quirks.
She was an odd human. But her eccentricities didn't necessarily mean she would be a good tutor. He allowed his musing to trail off as the spicy scent of her irritation began to fill the air.
"I'll have you know, I'm well versed in geography, mathematics, literature, grammar, and three foreign languages. Not to mention the medical and first aid training I could give her." It seemed her education was a source of pride for the spunky onna, and he had unintentionally wounded that pride with his doubt.
But instead of feeling guilt, he simply shrugged and wondered where Imuyasha stood in all of this. Lothe as he was to admit it, the welp was his brother. And as his brother, it would be 6 escort the Miko if she was disobeying her mate in any way by leaving. "Do you not need to return to your mate, the half-breed?"
"That baka isn't, and will never be my mate!" The spike in her miko powers made his body break out in goosebumps. What could have possibly happened between the idiot hanyu and the Miko to cause such a reaction.
Noting the shift in her aura from anger to sadness, he decided to move the conversationalong. What did she get out of this exactly? "You wish to travel with this Sesshomaru and tutor his ward in exchange for what? Protection?"
"In a way..." Raising his eyebrow in question, the Miko blushed and looked down. "I was hoping you would train me to defend myself. I'm pretty good with a bow & arrow, but that's it."
By now, she was dragging the tips of her toes in the dirt, head still facing the ground, and fingers twisting and fidgeting. She looked very much like a bashful child aching for attention. It called to his instincts. "You wish to grow stronger."
"Hai." She was slightly put off by the sudden softness in his voice, but she shrugged it off.
This was her chance. She had one shot to make a case for herself. If she screwed this up, her last resort would be running to the east and taking up with Kogas wolves.
She didn't want to do that. So, with a deep breath, she straightened her back and faced him, ready to plead her case.
The Silence - Part 9
Permission
Sesshoumaru paced the length of the stone terrace, his hands squeezed into fists. Time—that unit of measurement usually of little notice or consequence to his kind—had turned into a device of torture. Every single second stretched endlessly, mocking him. Every additional minute drove deeper a sense of helplessness, like an iron spike sinking into his heart.
Helplessness was not an emotion he was overly familiar with.
He did not like it.
This had been a mistake, he thought to himself as fear churned in his gut. An idiotic and insane idea.
And yes, it was the only way he could ever hope to further his relationship with Kagome… But as the time crawled around him, as he waited and fretted and ached, he wondered if even the prospect of future happiness was worth this agony. Worth this gnawing, endless wait, during which he was forced to prowl here and get better acquainted with attributes he'd never before had to apply to himself: powerless and useless. And all the while Kagome was out there. Without his protection. Alone.
Or more accurately and horrifyingly—alone with his mother.
Glum and anxious, his mind kept feeding him gut-wrenching scenarios in rapid succession. Who knew what was happening in there? What side of herself his mother had decided to show? Was she interrogating Kagome now? Insulting her? Without a doubt she was probably scaring her, for which Sesshoumaru couldn't—and wouldn't—blame Kagome. His mother was frightening without any conscious effort on her part. It came as naturally to her as the poison to her claws.
Poison. Sesshoumaru grimaced, his fists balling tighter. That was another nightmarish image he did not need in his mind. Surely his mother wouldn't think to poison Kagome. Or physically harm her in any other way.
... Who was he kidding? With his mother, anything was possible.
A growl rumbled in Sesshoumaru's throat and his pace increased. He couldn't take this for much longer. The waiting. If his mother and his miko did not soon emerge, he would—
Sesshoumaru’s mother strode onto the terrace he’d been pacing. His shoulders immediately tensed and did not relax even as he spotted the form of his miko, trailing hesitantly after his mother. Something that felt alarmingly close to desperation was clawing at his throat and squeezing out his breath as he tried to scan his mother’s impassive face.
Given that Kagome was alive and unharmed, the audience had to have gone well.
And then, the tang of salt stung his nostrils. Closer now, he searched the familiar features of the woman he loved and a dark growl escaped.
Kagome had been crying.
“What have you done, mother?” he demanded, crossing to his miko. He wrapped one arm protectively around her.
His mother, infuriating as always, quirked up one imperious eyebrow.
“I had a nice, long talk with Kagome so we might be better acquainted. And I heartily encourage you to do the same.”
Sesshoumaru snarled, his claws flexing until a small hand landed on his arm.
“I’m fine,” Kagome said, though the smile she flashed him trembled at the edges. “We had tea and talked.”
“Well then,” Sesshoumaru’s mother intoned dryly. “It has been lovely to meet you, Kagome. Do visit again, if you wish.”
Kagome bowed her head. “Thank you. I’d be honoured.”
“Delightful.” His mother smiled. Then, she walked over to them and bent to brush her lips on Kagome’s forehead. “I give you my blessing. You are welcomed, little miko.”
With one last regal nod, Sesshoumaru’s mother left.
Watching his mother’s retreating, silk-clad back, her words of welcome echoing in his incredulous mind, the heavy coil of all the fear and tension and anxiety and helplessness Sesshoumaru had been carrying finally started to unwind. And, as the relief flooded his whole being like a tsunami, the meaning behind his mother’s final words began to sink in, penetrating his overtaxed brain until it finally began to process them.
Sesshoumaru held on to Kagome, and pulled her closer. And marvelled at the fact that she would finally be his. That he had his Elder’s permission and thus, a future with his miko.
Of course, if there was anyone who could have garnered his unreasonable, mercurial mother’s favour, it would be Kagome. There was something about her that managed to melt the resistance of even the most stubborn and withered heart—wasn’t Sesshoumaru himself the undeniable proof of the miko’s irresistible charm? He pressed his nose to the top of her head and inhaled her scent, letting his heart fill with adoration.
Kagome stepped back and wrapped her arms around herself. Her gaze was sombre and didn’t quite meet his eye when she told him: “Let’s go.”
Sesshoumaru inclined his head and pulled Kagome into a secure hold before he launched them into the air. The further away they could get from his mother, the better for his sanity. Besides, they had a future to think of. As he flew into the east, his miko tucked safely against him, Sesshoumaru’s lips curled into a smile.

TROPE-TASTIC
So I'm trying something I saw on rumble. Basically, I'm making a list of the prompts I'm using for this story challenge.
Problem is... I need 30 prompts I can work with... I've only found 19.

This is what I'm working on. I'd love to see others interpretations of these prompts, so feel free to use them in your own chapter or one shot stories!
If you do, please link them to keep so I can read/promote them! If you post them here, add the hash tag #AWBsesskag
