Riddle was always in bed by a certain time every night. You weren't sure if it was a rule from the Queen of Hearts or a standard he held himself to, but he always insisted on turning in early and getting up refreshed. Tonight was no different. That's why you were so surprised.

It was creeping into the early morning. Riddle's small form was shaking underneath the blankets he had wrapped around himself. There were tears slipping from under his closed eyelids and clinging to his long lashes. Red hair was messily strewn across his soft pillows. If it weren't for the crashing realization that your boyfriend was having a nightmare, you might have considered it to be a relatively cute sight.

His hands were grasping at nothing. Instinctively. Repeatedly. What was he reaching for? You didn't know. You woke him anyway, shaking his shoulder with concern scrawled across your face. He awoke with a start, bolting into an upright position, his chest rising and falling rapidly as his hurried breath came out unevenly.

Wide eyes didn't seem to recognize you at first, darting around violently, not placing you or the safety of his bedroom around him. There was a quiet mutter off "Off with your head" followed by a somewhat muffled sob. Finally, it seemed to sink in. He was awake in his bedroom early in the morning with you, and not in the Rose Garden surrounded by the students of his dorm and the problems that drowned him. He wasn't overblotting. He was safe.

The next thing you knew, he was practically on you. His hands were grasping the back of your shirt as he cried against your neck. The sniffling sobs spilling forth from him were unsightly, and he'd apologize for them in the morning, but for now, none of that mattered. You had a boyfriend to comfort, so you got right down to it.

Your arms wrapped around him as well as you slightly began to rock side to side softly. You pressed your lips against the crown of his head, cooing to him sweetly. Based off of what he had cried out upon waking, you figured he had been dreaming about his overblot. You murmured soft words of comfort against his hair. Quietly, you asked him if he wanted any tea to drink to calm down. He muttered something about it being against the rules to drink tea at this hour. If this were any other circumstance, you might have laughed a bit.

Hands running up and down his arms and all over his back, you mumbled reassurances to him. He was safe. His blot accumulation was healthy. He wasn't going to overdue it any time soon and there was no one nearby to hurt. Everything is okay. Eventually, his sobs quieted and his breathing evened slightly. The two of you repositioned, moving now to rest against the headboard of his large bed while he would remain cradled against you, his head nuzzled lovingly against your neck. One of your hands moved to take his and softly play with your fingers, causing his lips to lift into a small ghost of a smile. There were still tears dangling off of his lashes and dripping into his red cheeks, but he had calmed down out of the hysteric state he was in earlier. Your very presence was calming, but the careful love you always offered him was the most comforting in the world.

You asked him about his dream. Carefully. Tenderly. Slowly. You didn't pressure him, he didn't have to share. The sentences he muttered were quiet and disjointed, hard to string together, but you could form some kind of understanding in your head. It seemed like your sweet boy was bogged down once more with thoughts of his mother's harsh teaching and even harsher punishments. Maybe it was the stress of the upcoming exams that had had him so worked up, holding himself to the highest standards possible. Apparently, his dream had shifted for the worst into a spiral of painful memory as his overblot replayed before him in only the highest quality. It all kept getting worse and worse as, in his dream, no one was there to stop him. He kept hurting everyone. He almost cried again telling you.

The room was dark but you could still see his slate grey eyes downcast toward the sheets, never once tearing from them and roaming around the room. The hand you had around his shoulder, holding him against you, lifted off long enough to push his head toward you so you could press a loving kiss against his temple. He squeezed your hand in a quiet thanks.

Quietly, the two of you sat there. His breathing was evening out again and his eyes drooping slightly. Dawn was beginning to creep up, but there was still time to get a little more sleep before waking for the morning classes. You were glad to see him growing drowsy again; he needed it.

Your boyfriend's nightmares weren't common, per se, but they weren't completely unusual either. They were dwindling in frequency, but they still seemed to plague him nonetheless. You knew he was working hard on trying to research better ways to prevent dangerous blot accumulation during his spare time. Maybe you should remind him how proud of him you are in the morning. For now, you decided to go back to sleep beside him.

You'd be there when he woke again, and that was all that really mattered. The night had been long, your eyelids heavy. You drew his now sleeping form even closer to you yet, rubbing his hand with your thumb absentmindedly. Asleep or not, you wanted to give your all in comforting your dearest.

You drove off his nightmares better than the morning sun ever could hope to and he was eternally grateful. Come morning, he may not admit to ever having one. His red cheeks and the way his gaze would avoid yours for a bit would say enough, however, as he'd pull himself up from where he slept against your neck. He would be embarrassed about allowing you to see him in such a vulnerable state, indeed, but he would be thankful. The kiss he would press against the back of your hand and the tea he would brew you, served on a tray beside one of Trey's best tarts, would say enough.

Thank you for being there during the hard nights, it would say. And thank you for comforting him during his darkest hours. Yes, you had quite the morning to look forward to.

“Come on come on hunny!” You said as you were hand in hand running up a hill. “Slow down y/n what is the meaning of this?” He looked at you annoyed.

“Hunny is your birthday so I decided I’d make you a huge picnic lunch! I made all your favorites!” You had spent hours trying to make his birthday picnic special.

He blushed and turned as red as his hair. “Gah you didn’t have to do that for me.” He said with a childish pout. You giggled at his attitude as you told him to sit down.

You opened a picnic basket and he stared in amazement at how much food you had packed. You packed Sandwiches, Fruit, Veggies, Yogurt, Granola and Strawberry Tarts! (And a surprise cake for later) Everything he loved in one big basket. He was Practically drooling.

“Dig in baby! It’s all for you!” You picked up a sandwich and unwrapped it. “Open wide say ahhh” he was blushing way to hard. “Come on Riddle.” You said with puppy eyes. He rolled his eyes and allows you to feed him the sandwich.

He smiled brightly. “Y/n that was the best sandwich I’ve ever had.” You gave him a big hug. “Really Riddle!! That means so much to me!” Y’all were snacking on all the food you brought to fill your tummies while talking about your daily lives.

You turned around for a few moments. “Y/n are you ok?” He asked concerned. “Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to you…HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR RIDDLE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!” You said as you pulled out a strawberry short cake that said Happy Birthday Riddle on it. He looked at you embarrassed yet so happy.

“Y/n all this for me?” You smiled and put the cake in front of his face. “Make a wish hun!” You said with stars in your eyes. He blew out the candles you had on the cake. “Hey hunny what did you wish for?” You asked with a soft smile.

“If I told you that it wouldn’t come true.” You gave a pouty frown and said “fine.” All of a sudden he grabbed your face and gave you a very passionate kiss while holding one of your hands while his other hand was on your beautiful face.

“Y/n” he said as y’all pulled away from that beautiful kiss. “That was my wish. Thank you for all you did to make my birthday special. I’m so lucky to have you. I love you.”

You gave him another big hug and kissed him on the cheek. “Riddle I’d do anything for you. You know that. I love you with my whole heart. Let’s celebrate the rest of the day ok.”

your eyes shot open so randomly in this ungodly hour of the night. leona’s back was facing you as you woke up. you leaned onto him to check if he’s awake. now you want to wake him up. you kept going back and leaning onto him, thinking if you should wake him up with a kiss or no.

eventually, leona wakes up by your sudden actions. he knows what you’re up to at this point. leona opens his eyes “well if you won’t do it, i will.” leona blurts out making you startled. he turns his body to you. he leans in giving you a gentle kiss.

It will take a while into the relationship for him to be comfortable enough to sleep with you on the same bed. Poor baby would probably be too embarrassed the first few times (although he would try to not show it). He would try not to get too close to you and would be too nervous to intimate anything.

The first time that you two slept next to each other he was a bit awkward and just opted to hold your hand instead of cuddling. He does eventually gain more confidence and shuffles up next to you for a hug, to which you happily reapociate, although he still doesn't know where to put his hands so they just waver above your body for a few seconds before he lowers them down on your waist.

After a couple more times, he'll get more comfortable around you and will even rest his head against your shoulder or neck. He's definitely touch-starved so expect yourself to find him subconsciously cuddling even closer to you when he's drifting off to sleep!

There isn't really any big spoon or little spoon while cuddling. You both just wrap your arms around the other and/or hold each others hands. Although he won't be opposed to being the big spoon if you had a bad day or just need some comfort in general.

This boy will notice immediately if there's a slight change in your demeanor, and will confront you about it (in private of course) but whether or not you want to tell him, is all up to you. Either way, he will do his best to cheer you up. He knows he's not the best at comforting but he'll still try to whisper some assuring words in your ear while cuddling together.

He isn't one to attempt a lot of physical affection but you'll feel him plant a soft kiss on your forehead when he thinks you've drifted off to sleep

Give him some affection in return and litter his pale cheeks with some kisses and his cheeks will turn as red as his hair

Riddle is a quiet and peaceful sleeper so don't worry about him snatching your blanket or rolling on top of you while sleeping. It's most likely that you'll find him in same position that you remember him sleeping in.

Riddle is also an early riser so usually he's the one who will wake up first. Although that doesn't mean you haven't woken up before him a few times before. And it's truly an adorable sight when you do, since you get to see his cute bed hair!

His red heart shaped strand will be sticking out all over the place as he rubs his eyes sitting up before he catches you staring at him and blushes slightly, embarrassed, patting his hair down, knowing what you were looking at

Overall, this boy is such a sweetheart to cuddle with. Would recommend 10/10 <3
