The day we met, it was raining. (short)

Characters: Rin x GN Reader

Anime: Blue exorcist

Warnings: cursing, not proof read.

Genre: Fluff

A/N: It's been raining a lot... And I thought of this scenario.

----------------------------------

The Day We Met, It Was Raining. (short)

"Shit," Rin mumbled feeling the first drop of water on his arm, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Walking along the streets that were by the church, his head hung low. Walking away from the scene of a exorcism, bewildered looks from civilians that saw a lanky blue haired kid soaking wet.

Lifting his head up towards the very dark sky, phone ringing, "Hello?" He answered the phone, being greeted by automatic scolding, "Yeah.. I'm just walking back from.. YOU WANT ME TO WAIT IN THE RAIN?!" He hollered back, earning glances of annoyance and judgement from people passing by him.

"Keep your voice down," A middle aged women scolded, pointing towards her sleeping baby in the stroller. "Youre outside," Rin fired back, hanging up the phone and deciding to wait in the rain.

"I can't believe, I forgot my umbrella, even watched the news for the weather today. Hopefully, I don't get sick."

Sitting on a nearby bench, the squish sound of his semi-dry pants hitting the wet wood made him cringe internally. Watching the passing cars and buses, smirking watching a family of four rushing through the rain. All laughing, though the parents were noticably slightly worried about the older children getting sick.

"Hey, come on man! " An older boy hollered, splashing into the puddle by the road, his friends laughing and mocking him before pulling him back in. "Come on man, get under the umbrella," One spoke, slightly tugging him by his sleeve, "Yeah, you're mom is going to kill you for getting those shoes dirty."

Rin felt something in his chest as he observed everyone around him. Longing? Envy? Jealousy? He wasn't sure, but it stung watching others at times enjoy this world.

The rain seemed to pour down even harder at his mood, his hair now matted to his forehead and his clothes fully drenched. Leaning his head back to rest it on the bench, feeling the harsh taps of the rain.

Before, suddenly there was nothing, no water falling from a height that it should hurt you or even bruise. Opening one eye just a crack, he was met with a blue sky and stray clouds. Opening his both eyes fully, he tilted his head confused, cuz it looked like a blue sky with stray clouds but it seemed off.

"Here take it," A voice spoke from the side, his eyes and braining finally making sense of it all. The "blue sky and clouds" was someone umbrella, they were holding it over him, a kind but shy smile gracing their features. "Oh um.. thanks, but I'm find, you need it."

"It's okay, I got a jacket and a back up umbrella."

"Oh.. well um.. thank you?" Rin wasn't really sure how too feel, not many people came up too him or treated him fairly at times. This happening, was indeed a bit of a shock to his system, and they could sense something was up. "Do you mind if I sit and wait with you?"

"It's kind of wet on the bench," Rin mumbled, before watching them take a bag out of there purse and lay it out on the bench. "It's fine, it isn't my first time waiting in the rain for the bus."

And for the next 30 minutes, they sat and talked, finding they had things in common and shared the same views of topics. Rin was enjoying this time, his mind now having forgotten the ill feelings towards life. He was talking about a new recipe he saw on the internet, when a large SUV pulled up in front of them, the window rolling down and voice similar to his own told him to get in.

"Ugh, thanks for the umbrella, here ya g-"

"Keep it, in case you forget again," You told him, smiling lightly at him as his cheeks burned a light pink. "Um.. this might be a bit forward, but could I ask for your number? You seem like a great guy, and I wouldnt want to regret this at all. "

He was already taking out his phone, and handing it over too you.

"Rin, you sho-" His brother spoke, before being cut off by a shush.

"Remember to bring that umbrella with you next time!" You shouted after giving each other phones back, and saying your farewells. Waving your hand towards him, as you walked back on the sidewalk.

"I thought you had to catch the bus!" He hollered, cupping his hands on the side of his mouth. "It was an excuse to talk to you!"

The rain stopped as the car started too move, the clouds opening up for the sun to finally peak through. A smile on both faces, as the day went by for you both.

The day you two met, it was raining.

Just realized that both coming out day and indigenous peoples day are on the 11th this year so here's your reminder from your local queer native to not let Indigenous Peoples Day get ignored and forgotten this year. Support natives even if they're not queer this october 11th, and don't let white + colonized narratives be the main focus of the day.

I do appreciate people willing to be educated on creating characters who are Muslim and wanting to be respectful but there is a whole lot of nuance in Muslims and different interpretations of beliefs that people need to understand.

image

The main one I’ve seen a lot is ā€œhere is how to correctly have a hijabi characterā€ and it’s usually a headscarf covering all of the hair and modest, which is good, this is a good representation of a Muslim, but on the flip side, there are so many different interpretations of veiling among Muslims that saying only one is correct just seeks to enforce a sort of homogeneity among Muslims that disregards our own cultural traditions all over the world. Not all of us wear hijab or veil in the same way, not all of us have the same interpretations. As much as people try to understand that Islam is a religion, there are many who treat being Muslim as if its the equivalent of an ethnicity.

image

Not to say veiling is exclusively Islamic either, plenty of cultures and religions other than Islam veil/practice modesty, what I’m mainly trying to say is that different cultures have different cultural traditions surrounding modesty/veiling/hijab within Islam. In different cultures around the world there are also different terms for the type of hijab/veil they wear as well. Hijab will look different wherever you are looking, and the type of hijab style your character might wear may pertain to which culture they may come from. It’s important to keep this in mind while also being aware of inter-communal nuance.

(This is coming from a Muslim from cultures where people did not used to veil as many deem ā€˜acceptable’ now)

image

Just for example: both of these women are Muslim, they both wear a scarf, and neither is more Muslim than the other bc one has visible hair. Nobody has the right to determine who is a better Muslim or not for how they chose to cover, and I don’t think folks who aren’t Muslim should be upholding this kind of belief either, even if their intentions are in the right place.

This is also not to say ā€œhey just slap a scarf on ur Muslim character bam it’s a hijabā€ when a lot of the posts about creating characters who are Muslims, especially hijabis, came from a place of people not understanding the hijab or it’s intention, it also comes from a fear of portraying more modest/religious Muslims which is rooted in Islamophobia - since the hijabi on the left would probably be better liked by audiences who aren’t Muslim bc some of her hair is shown (*cough* Netflix *cough*). So, there is a lot of nuance here.

Ofc not everyone is going to agree with this and there is plenty, and i mean plenty, of contested sources and voices about this all throughout the Muslim community, this is my opinion because quite frankly I’m tired of this belittling of different type of veiling because it doesn’t fit people’s view of hijab (from both Muslims and those who aren’t).

"I was joking."

"I Was Joking."

| Characters: Genos x GN Reader

| Anime: One Punch Man

| Warnings: Mild cursing, implying murder /death, destroying.

| Summary: Genos doesn't understand sarcasm sometimes, and for the most part. It's funny, though theyre times he takes it a little TOO seriously. Here are three times, he thought you were serious.

-----------------------

"I wish, with all my might, this homework would... Disappear." You groaned, waving your hands over the books and papers, fingers dancing and jumping at your words. The light breeze swept in, tossing your papers lighting around the room. A bang of hope and panic over took your body, "I can help you with that if you want Y/N." A slight deep monotone voice spoke behind you, jumping at the sound.

A small smile gracing your face, as your boyfriend stood in your door way. His features, (if possible) softened as he looked at you. "Master Saitama, had asked me when was the last time I saw you. I couldn't recall, so I am paying a visit." He spoke, his eyebrows raising at you, your figure walking towards him.

"Thank you, but I'm joking, I don't need my papers too disappear. But I'm happy you're here though." Wrapping your arms around his waist, the coolness from him soothing your mind.

"Alright, just let me know if you want the homework gone. I'll end it's entire existence."

"I know you would, but I'm joking sweet."

------------------------

"Genos, why is there a hole in my wall?"

"You said you wanted this wall gone, since you kept stubbing your toe on it." He said, deadpan, as he spoke with a matter fact tone. The floor covered in bits of white paint, and debris from the smashed wall, "Babe, I was joking. It was sarcasm, but I appreciate you doing that for me."

"Oh, you're welcome, Id do anything to keep your toes safe." He turned around, grabbing a broom and dust pan to sweep up the mess.

The blue apron with red and white kittens making you giggle, "At least I own this place, that being the downside.. I OWN this place," You whispered to yourself, your body jerking when you saw Saitama sitting casually on the couch.

"Oh hey, what are you doing here? Want some chips?"

"Saitama, when.. Its MY house. And yes, I want some chips." You spoke, walking over to him, his face showing shock at remembering, that you do indeed own this house. Grabbing a handful of chips from the bag, "Why didnt you stop him?"

"I actually walked in right when he had his blasters aimed at the wall, asked him what he was doing, said he was and I quote "Going to make this wall pay for harming my love." Told him, why doesn't he just kick the wall out."

"You couldn't have told him, NOT to do that though?"

"Eh, I don't think the wall should be there, needs more open space," Saitama spoke with a dead tone, looking back to the TV, a neutral expression on his face.

"He called me, my love?"

--------------------

A small frown graced your features, small wrinkles forming in your forehead. Genos stood in front of you, his hands clasped together in front of his body.

"Can you explain this?"

"It's gone, you wanted it gone."

"Genos, baby. I was joking, sure I wanted my boss gone because he IS a dick, but.. where is he?"

"I have a feeling that you will become angry," Genos said, if it wasn't for the fact he was half robot, he would sweating profusely.

A sigh leaving your mouth, you had a feeling he may have killed him. But you didn't want to believe it, or accept it. Your boss of 3 years had been a dick, yes. A misogynistic? Absolutely. Rude? Yes. Had he been accused (and it being confirmed) of sexual misconduct? ABSOLUTELY.

And that was the final straw for you, Genos had known about your boss. And maybe, you had let it slip that you wished, "He would just disappear."

And here you both were, your boss hadnt shower up for work for now, a week. Now, you were suspicious.

"I was going to kill him, but Master Saitama told me to just scare him till he shits his pants. So I did, and then he left, I'm not sure where he is now."

You stood there, your shoulders slumping. Turning around and leaving the room, "You're mad."

"Kind of, but hopefully the next boss isn't a sleazeball."
