This is my main blog. I do have a few side blogs for my writing and crafting (and my cat). Originally, this was a sims 2 blog, but now I post about reading and just about anything I’m thinking. I hope you’ll join me! I’m going to try to be more consistent in 2023.

One day soon I’ll tell Herb how I feel and, well, we’ll see what happens after that. In the meantime, I have my shop and my garden to tend to. I promise I’ll let you guys know the minute anything important happens.
I miss you both so much. Please write back and tell me all the news from Riverblossom Hills.
Your loving daughter,
Florence

Florence’s round was quick, simple, sweet, and drama-free. It was a lot of fun to play, even if not all that much happened. Next time will be more exciting, I’m sure. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures that didn’t fit with Florence’s letter.

Florence kept looking at the camera while on her date with Herb, as if to say, “:Isn’t he the cutest? Can I keep him?”

Herb is pretty cute (especially looking out at the weather), so I will definitely let her keep him.

I don’t know much about Herb yet (I really should have had Florence ask him some questions but I forgot), but I know that (a) he loves to sing and (b) he’s not very good at it. That didn’t stop him, and since Florence isn’t too good at karaoke either, she didn’t mind.

I wanted to have Florence say a bit more about Gilbert and Breanna, because their relationship really does seem to be an odd one, but I don’t think Florence would want to go into too much detail writing to her parents. Gil and Breanna had a pillow fight at Flo’s house, but then Gilbert had coffee with another girl on the boardwalk while Breanna was there, but THEN he let Breanna sit on his lap while they were hanging out later. I need to remember this weird relationship for the Jacquet round. We’ll see where it goes then, I guess.

Anyways, the Tinkers are up next, so let’s end on a picture of Wanda in the flower shop.
I hope you guys enjoyed the Delarosa round, brief as it was. I’ll meet you at the Tinkers!

He could still remember the last time he had seen her, sleeping peacefully in the bed in that motel room, a small smile on her face. He had slipped away that night, left her there, and never expected to see her again. And now she was standing there before him, staring at him. "What are you doing here?" she hissed. "I live here," he said, unable to think of anything else to say. "Where have you been all these years, John?" "Working." "Is that what you call it?" She smiled bitterly. "Sharon, I am so sorry." "Then why did you leave that night?" He sighed. How could he explain? He spread his hands. "I would have stayed. If you'd asked, I would've stayed." She raised her eyebrows, but said nothing. Natasha whirled over in a colorful flash of skirts and slipped her arm casually through John's. "There you are! Come on, they have grilled cheese!" She tugged at him. John stayed rooted to the spot for a moment, watching Sharon's face turn to stone. "It was good to see you again, John," she said stiffly. "Enjoy the rest of the party." "Sharon, " he croaked. She walked away. Natasha squeezed John's arm lightly. "Come on! Grilled cheese!" "You go," he said vaguely. "I'm...not feeling good. Migraine coming, I think. I need to go home." "Okay. I'll see you tomorrow, then." She kissed his cheek lightly and let go of him, skipping off toward the promise of grilled cheese sandwiches. John made his way out into the cool evening darkness and headed for home. This was why you didn't break that rule about not getting close to clients. It always ended badly. Sometimes you just didn't see the effects until years later. --- I have still never played with John, or any of the Desiderata sims, so this prompt threw me for a loop for a little bit, but I think it worked out in the end. Let me know what you thought! Thanks, @nestadaughter, for the prompt. I've missed doing things like this. I have a couple more that I will try to work on soon. For the record, you can ask for a prompt for one Sim or a couple. :)
11, Bella and Mortimer
11) “No one will ever believe us.”
This one got kind of long (as usual) so it’s below the cut. It took me a bit to get the prompt line in there, but I knew exactly how I wanted to start the scene. Let me know what you think! Thanks @greenfooddog!
As the smoke began to rise, the Goths clasped hands and began to run. In his free hand, Mortimer clutched the precious briefcase. In her free hand, Bella held her wand, ready to cast spells at anyone who stood in their way. She blasted several dark-suited agents out of the way, leaving behind a number of beautiful golden statues.
They made it through the front door and down the steps. "Get ready to jump,” Bella called and cast a portal spell ahead of them. They leapt through the shimmering golden mist and vanished just as the building behind them exploded.
Five seconds later the couple appeared on the roof of Goth Manor, panting and out of breath. Mortimer held up the briefcase in triumph. “We did it, my love,” he gasped. “We got everything we need!”
“At last,” Bella breathed, a hungry look coming into her eyes. “How long will it take you to make it?”
“I don’t know yet. I need to take a closer look.”
She kissed his cheek. “Then let’s get you down to the laboratory so you can get started. I’ll go check on the children.”
He kissed her cheek in response and they walked together down the stairs into the attic laboratory.
“No one will ever believe us,” the head of the SCIA security team moaned, rubbing his head. Changing back into a sim after being a golden statue for two hours had left him with a throbbing migraine. “The Goths--the most prominent family in SimNation--robbed a top-secret government lab and stole the experimental formula for the Elixir of Life? No one’s going to buy it...” He was pretty sure he was fired.

I do manage to get away from the shop and have some fun sometimes. Herb and I have been going out regularly since that first almost-date at the garden club meeting. Sometimes Gilbert Jacquet and his friend Breanna join us too.
