Of course, Denise followed up the thank you with the awkward “what is there between you and my son?” conversation.  Breanna was a bit embarrassed.  Having the mom of the guy you like ask you if you’re going out with him is embarrassing, but I imagine it gets even more embarrassing when the guy’s mom is also your boss.  Denise was quick to reassure Breanna that she’s fine with her dating Gilbert, if that’s what they want to do.  She’d like to see her son settle down anyways, and Breanna is a good steady girl.  

When Breanna explained that she didn’t know if she and Gilbert were officially dating or not, Denise shrugged.  “If he won’t ask you out, why don’t you ask him?”

Gilbert and Breanna went out for a late dinner at Le Magnifique.  Afterwards they enjoyed some karaoke (although no one else really enjoyed it) and then...well, I think that last picture speaks for itself.

The first time they went into the photo booth, it really was to get some pictures, which Gilbert gave to Breanna to keep.

The second time they didn’t take pictures. ;)

They enjoyed their time together so much that they decided to continue the date at home in Gilbert’s room (where I realized he needs to change that guest room quilt for one that he actually likes, if he’s going to be staying in Bluewater for a while).  

It was a dream date, naturally.

Meanwhile, because Denise wanted to, we got Hardimos a job in the pet service career.  Because he is a great cat, he quickly got promoted.  Being a therapy pet seems like a good job for Hardimos. He’s certainly doing wonders for Denise!

The only issue Denise has with Hardimos is that he seems to enjoy eating her flowers.  That is a BIG no-no, kitty cat!  

Breanna called to ask Gilbert out on another date, so they went to One-Twenty-Five Cafe downtown and were unbearably cute.

As the round comes to a close, things are looking for the Jacquets.  Denise is getting back into life again.  Hardimos has been a big help, and so has going back to the bakery.  Gilbert has a new girlfriend and is trying to learn some cooking himself.  He actually has the Be a Celebrity Chef LTW, which surprised me.  If he learns to make something without burning it, I may actually let him get a job in the culinary career next time.  

Thoughts on Bluewater for this round are coming up next, followed by a visit to our favorite supernatural fans, Cyd Roseland and Chester Gieke.  Let me know what you thought of this round with the Jacquets! 

This round was a lot simpler than the last one.  I kept trying to write scenes with dialogue and descriptions, but none of it sounded right.  I ended up just summarizing everything.  I hope you didn’t mind. Check below the cut for thoughts on how I played this round and a few pictures of crazy things that happened.

The Jacquets have had some pretty bad luck.  Even in this round, when I was trying to get things back to normal for them, there were fires, lightning strikes, and weird glitches!

I have no idea why this happened, but this is what I came into when I opened the lot for the first time this round.  I don’t remember how to fix it, but I did fix it without too much trouble...

This happened completely out of the blue.  He was talking with Breanna in the rain and then -- BAM!  I had to put in a temporary shower in the bakery bathroom to get him cleaned up again...

Both fires were caused by Denise, if you can believe it.  She has quite a few cooking points, so I’m blaming her fiery accidents on her continued grief for Yves. My main goal this time around was to get Denise back on her feet so she’d stop breaking my heart every time she showed up on a community lot.

Luckily the random scenario required getting a kitty, and Hardimos the cat wandered by and was perfect.  

He actually was a stray who just wandered onto the lot.  I wanted to get Denise to adopt him without cheating, but he wandered off before she could finish befriending him, so I cheated him back and put him in the adoption pool.

He’s a pretty good cat, all things considered, and he actually knows some commands. Plus, he’s pretty cute. 

Getting Hardimos and getting him a job got Denise feeling a bit better.  Getting an official girlfriend seemed to make Gilbert feel better. 

I was on the fence about getting Gilbert and Breanna together again, but they’re just so cute together, and I love them so much, so they’re officially a couple again.  They still have only one bolt, but I think they’ve proven that that doesn’t mean a thing.

The Jacquets are back to “normal” (I hope anyways).  Hardimos is a great addition to the household.   Although they’ll never forget Yves, I think they’re ready to move on.  (Whether or not this means that Gilbert can move out is kind of up for debate, but I think he’ll be staying for the time being.  He’s got a girlfriend in town now, and why find a place to live on his own when he can live with Mom for free?)

Anyways, the next household is the Supernatural Roomies, Cyd Roseland and Chester Gieke.  See you there!

Round 2 is finally, finally over!  It feels like it’s taken forever, and a LOT happened!

The Landgraab Legacy

Malcolm had quite an eventful round!  Seriously, we started things off with a bang this round!  Malcolm was pretty sure Abby was the one for him, but it turned out she was just in it to get a story. Malcolm’s...not doin’ so hot now.  Is the legacy going to end with him? 

The Delarosa Differences in the Family Tree Challenge

Compared to Malcolm, Florence’s round was completely boring. She mostly spent it running her shop and hanging out with her new sweetie, Herb.  I’m hoping she’ll kick things into gear next time, but we’ll have to wait and see. 

The Tinker Ten Kids Challenge

The Tinkers added two more little ones to their family this round: Bass and Treble.  Little Cadence aged up to a toddler and then a child by the end of the round.  Stephen got abducted by aliens and came back pregnant, and then he got Wanda pregnant too!  We’re almost at that 10 kid milestone already!  At the end of the round Melody moved to college. 

The Ramirez Random Challenge

The Ramirezes learned to love (or hate) grilled cheese sandwiches this round.  (Tessa was going through a phase.)  Also, Checo and Lisa went to their first grown up party in a while and, well, the night had some consequences that have not quite yet made themselves known.  (In other words, baby Ramirez incoming next round!  Woohoo!)

The Larson Business Challenge

Jason and Jodie drove each other (and me) crazy. It was mostly Jason’s fault this time.  He traumatized his sister by making out with his girlfriend on the couch.  Jodie went out and got drunk to try to erase that image from her brain and ended up meeting a nice guy.  They went on a date later. Jason hired his girlfriend to work at his store.  He thinks that’s a good idea. I think it’s time to throw a wrench or two into the works with these guys.  We’ll see what happens.

The Jacquet ROS Challenge

Denise finally started healing after Yves’s death. She got a cat named Hardimos and went back to the bakery with Gilbert.  (There is now cheesecake available at the bakery.  The Tinkers may or may not have purchased some...)  Gilbert officially started going out with Breanna Custer. 

The Supernatural Roomies Challenge

Chester and Cyd went on vacation to Takemizu Village.  Cyd didn’t get all the vacation memories he needed (no ninjas, for instance) but he’s made a good start toward his goal.  I’m not sure Chester really did anything significant.  Maybe he learned to make more robots?  I don’t remember...

The Crazy Kat Lover Challenge

Tara Kat’s household expanded with three kittens, and there are more kittens on the way!  Also Tara got a bit more serious with her boyfriend Jareth, who seems to be pretty okay with all the cats.  I’m just not sure there’ll be room for him to move in next round.  It depends on how many kittens we get!  Yay kittens!

The Wacky Kim Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge

The Kims got the (dubious) honor of bringing the plot back around again.  Cynthia and her best friend, Sylvia Marie Mashuga, heard about what happened to Malcolm and began plotting to set him up with someone new.  Malcolm wasn’t on board with the idea.  Meanwhile, Robert began making robots and Justin made friends with a couple neighborhood kids. 

Melody Tinker at College

Melody moved into a dorm with a bunch of premade college students turned dormies, which provided me with a lot of drama to watch while Mel was at class.  Melody decided to major in math and went looking for friends around campus.  She passed her first year of college with flying colors!

And that was the end of Round Two! We’re going to have a bit of an interlude before we go into Round Three.  

As per usual, I rolled for an ROS situation for the Jacquets.  The first one I got was fairly dull, so I rolled for a second one.  We’re paying back taxes and going on vacation for 3 days!  Yay!

Previously at the Jacquet household:

Denise decided that her grief for Yves wasn’t going to keep her from living life. She went back to the bakery with Gilbert. 

Denise noticed that Breanna seemed to have a crush on Gilbert and encouraged her to ask him out.

Gilbert and Breanna went on a date and had a very good time. 

Denise adopted a cat named Hardimos.

To begin with, here is your official Hardimos the Cat post for the round.  He is a Good Kitty and Gilbert likes him as much as his mom does. 

As the round began, Denise got an odd phone call.  She honestly didn’t understand most of what the person on the other end said, but the bottom line was, she owed extra tax money.  She told Gilbert about it and he investigated.  It sounded like a scam to him, but no, it turned out his dad had done something wrong in his taxes the previous year and they owed about $5000.  Gilbert took care of it.

To make up for the money they’d had to pay in back taxes, the Jacquets went to the bakery.  Gilbert proved how serious he was about this whole thing.  (He eventually earned a silver register badge, but he’s a total goofball.  He’s also apparently still very smitten with Miss Breanna there, which makes me happy.) 

Thanks to a fantastic new mod by simler90, Breanna can finally wear her work uniform and keep her face at the same time.  Huzzah! 

In spite of some complaints from the customers, J’Adore Bakery got to level 5. (Malcolm was mad at someone for leaving a plate around. I think he’s still a bit touchy about all the crap I’ve put him through.) 

Cyd Roseland stopped by as Gilbert was cleaning up at the end of the day.  They hadn’t really met before, but Gilbert was interested in Cyd’s cool outfit and they ended up having a good chat.  After finding out that Cyd had recently returned from Takemizu Village, Gilbert had an idea. 

Gilbert ran his idea past Breanna first. Although he’s Denise’s son, he sometimes feels that Breanna knows his mom better than he does, as he’s been away from Bluewater for a long while.  

“Do you think my mom would go on a vacation if I booked one for her?” he asked. 

“By herself or with you?”

“I’m...not sure.” 

Breanna laughed.  “I think she’d be more likely to say yes if you were going too. Why don’t you ask her and see what she thinks?”
