Look! A Short Angsty Story For The Star On My Page For Today
Look! A short angsty story for the star on my page for today
Shortly after becoming slightly more social - in the small window between the beginning of Bella's research and her initial social interaction, there was a competition. She had started prep work and planning almost a year in advance. It was her best project yet and it was for a spring internship in NASA. Her parents only just scraped out enough money to pay for parts and the entry fee. The week before the competition, she was working at the school robotics lab, since they had equipment she needed. She left the project there overnight. The next day at recess, she found the project destroyed. She was distraught. That day, she skipped class for the first time ever - she wanted to find the perpetrator. She succeeded in discovering who it was. Two girls in her friendship group had gotten jealous. They had asked for homework answers, but Bella doesn't cheat. She offered to tutor them, but they refused. When she became more social, they were even more jealous, since she was smart and well connected, so they sabotaged her project. She fixed it (thank goodness). However, this set her wayy back in her social progress. She was silent for weeks afterwards and was never seen outside of class or with anyone. Thank goodness for Evie, her best and closest friend at the time. She's a miracle worker.

Did anyone ask for a more fleshed out angsty backstory for the resident nerd? No? Oh well
Freddie wasn't kidding when he said he was a genius. His biological parents, who are (were? I know but you don't) NASA scientists were smart, but not great family members. Their rigorous work ethic pushed them away from their families, so neither has seen or heard from their family in 10 years. Thus, leading to Freddie's extended family not even knowing he existed.
As a baby, and as soon as it was deemed safe by the hospital to expose him to a less controlled environment, he was in a baby backpack while his parents worked in their lab. When he was a little bigger, he was sat in the back of their private lab in a baby pen with wooden blocks painted with the periodic table. His parents didn't starve him, and payed a little attention to him, but it's safe to say they didn't interact with him as much as they should. At 4, he was finally allowed to work with his parents in tamer experiments, which truly set off his love for chemistry. Unfortunately, some time within the next two years his parents left on a space mission, effectively abandoning their son. Freddie fell into a bad depression, since they were his main source of human interaction, since they never took him anywhere but work. Freddie was shuttled into a foster center (he stayed at his school, thankfully) and spent most of his time in a ball either in a corner when he wasn't allowed to be in bed. He was mute for a very long time. This was the only time when his work suffered - he did the bare minimum to not be kicked out and had no side projects. Finally, he settled in with a couple who accommodated his smarts by pushing for a prestigious magnet middle school, and who could also deal with his aloofness. It took a lot of love, effort and time from his foster parents to get him to talk again.
Hi Eve!!! Happy to see you active again!! I'd love to see an answer for 28 ^_^
28 If they could have one wish, what would they wish for? Bella lets out a heaving sigh, "For this to be over." She waves a hand at the outside, indicating the crumbling world she's stuck in. "It's awful what the gas has done to people, and I don't know how much longer I can last. It's exhausting providing for the boys and keeping a calm facade. I hate being in charge and I miss my family. But that's not going to happen without hard work. If only I could wish it away." "My parents!" blurts out Freddie instantly, shooting forward, a desperate fire in his eyes. He clears his throat and shifts awkwardly, his eyes glistening a little. "I need them and I miss them. They were supposed to come back, but they haven't." He turns away, too emotional to continue." "That's a tough one," Zach muses. "Maybe a way to end judging. I dunno how, but if there was a way to make everyone nicer and to stop assuming things about people based on the past, that'd be nice. Either that, or a way to save everyone stuck in this mess.

It's Zach's turn! He's also an only child. His mother died when he was a toddler, though he doesnt know how, since his father refused to talk about it. His dad is a police officer, who spends many hours on the field, putting himself in harm's way for everyone, even if it means going against his co-workers. Zach's dream is to follow in his father's footsteps, leading to a protective nature in times of danger, and he has been physically active his whole life. He can play any ball sport (and I mean any. Even though he grew up in an American-adjacent country, he has gone out of his way to learn about sports in other cultures), is very good at gymnastics and ballet, knows mixed martial arts and has done parkour on the weekends since he was four. He has a collection of stuffed animals that his mother started gathering for him that he continues to build on, which became a source of bullying that became so severe he moved schools. That led him to constructing an overly friendly mask - he's cordial towards everyone and has a lot of "friends", but struggles to be intimate/personal with anyone.

Okay, I had to do this.
Sweetheart of a human who doesn't give two shits about gender struggles with an angsty power that caused them to be socially stunted.
Describe your favorite OC but like, really awfully.
This is painfully true. I have something to work towards that I’m going to be posting on here, so I’ll attempt to use that as motivation to keep writing the actual book, since I promised myself I wouldn’t start something new until finishing chapter 10.
I’m hoping I can actually follow through.
