having adhd is literally so embarrassing its like. this completely baseless rage is all-consuming and eternal. omg my blorbos.
On today of remembering I can post whatever I want:
I just reblogged a post on glowing eyes and that reminded me of how much I love twisting tropes. I employed this with a two-time use dnd character names Mercury.
Wizard half elf who lived with their wood elf family, their clothing is naturally plain to blend in. After venturing out into the world, they now charm their clothing to be brightly colored with varying degrees of fashionable success. When using big spells, their clothing flickers because they’re using so much magic they can’t maintain the spell on their clothes and/or they’re draining magic around them for fuel
I gotta say, so much queer intra-community horseshit dropped off my shoulders when I decided to adopt a firm policy that everyone is the expert in their own identity, the single most knowledgeable person about what it's like to live life in their own skin, and that if someone describes their experience in ways I find contradictory or paradoxical I should do them the courtesy of presuming that they are striving to express something very specific and nuanced, rather than leaping to the conclusion that they're just dumb and using words wrong.
Sure, there are some combinations of identity terms that I look at and go "hmm, I don't get how that works." I'm still a human being. But there's a big difference between not getting how something works versus insisting that it doesn't.
shout out to ace and aro kids who are constantly bombarded with the opinion that sex and romantic love are directly connected to living a happy life.
