When you are alone and vulnerable Armin will take his chance to manipulate you even more, so you will only rely on him.

Harmless: Because he is so aware of his unhealthy feelings and how wrong it is to do things like that to you, he would distance himself from you, so he can't harm you anymore. He wants you to be happy, even if it is with someone else, he will accept his fate. He wasn't worthy of your companionship, to begin with, because he is so weak.

Not very long ago, I came across a post where a user was analyzing the meanings of the names of different pairings. And I wanted to do the same with komamiki! What did I end up with:

If we take "Komamiki" (since I use it most often), then nothing particularly beautiful comes out. These are 狛 (lion-dog shrine guards) and 木 (tree). Of course, I applied my skills to search for deeper meaning. Then it can be considered with a stretch as a "guardian of the tree" or even a "guardian of power", since a "tree" can have such symbolism. But this is not exactly something that can satisfy me.
