Bubo and Ticuus

Current WIP. Planning on inking and coloring it with markers.

I love drawing my hunter Violet with a bunch of knives and I love drawing Bubo with either a Dawnblade or Ticuus. I decided to do my favorite loadout in game: a bow, a sword, and a glaive. It's not practical, but I love them all and use them way too often.

I imagine my warlock uses Ticuus Divination and Black Talon as her signature weapons and Nezarec's Sin as her glaive cause, well, I've always been a warlock who had wondered who this Nezarec is. I know Black Talons lore basically explains it was probably made in honor of Uldren's death by his crows, buuuuut my head cannon is Bubo was a crow in her past life and had Black Talon when she died. So, when Minerva rezzed Bubo in the Dreaming City, this was her first weapon. This, along with a tattoo of a feather she has and the Sov's initial reaction to her, led her to learn more about her past self.

Also, I got the Rival Warlock Shell figurine and gosh, is it massive (13 inches long!) The wingspan is nearly the length of my shoulders. Now I draw Minerva a lot bigger than I used to.

I miss Sagira...also, can Osiris get a (therapy) pet pouka? I think he needs one

Also me: let's do it on a 11x14 inch piece of paper with an entire unplanned background featuring some Neomuna rooftop fighting and some pouka propaganda mixed in. Oh, and btw let's start this during IB week when you're trying to gild your Iron Lady title again.

Got this random pose from AdorkaStock on DeviantArt and decided to turn it into my warlock breaking down in front of Sundance's shell. I made it a lot more sketchy than I usually do when using markers, but I think it added to the piece.

This! It didn't feel lol like it was handled the best. Though I think this could lead to interesting potential story between Crow and Mara going forward.

Ok I think I've had enough time to like process everything properly.

Amanda dying sucks. For a variety of reasons. It genuinely sad that she won't be around anymore. We lost her, we lost a friend. There's a hole now.

But narratively her death sucks bc of how she was written this season. This entire season I've been annoyed by Amanda. Annoyed by how she was treating crow, annoyed by the fact she's apparently been living under a rock when it comes to the darkness, annoyed by how she's just been acting recently. Season of Defiance lore and story genuinely feels like we've taken a step backwards from where we were. On top of all that, we knew it was coming, we knew she was gonna die, so we had some time to prepare. Even then, her death doesn't really feel impactful? It really feels like it's just something that happened rather then a real hit.

I also just can't get myself to feel angry about it?? Like Crow is rearing up for vengeance Forsaken 2 electric boogaloo style. But it's war??? People die??? What's there to get revenge on??? We didn't "get revenge" for Rohan, we understood it was 1) war and 2) his choice. It's the same situation here. Her death is sad, it sucks. But she chose to sacrifice herself, its war.
