RIP To Joey Feek, Who Died Of Cervical Cancer Earlier This Year. Joey + Rory Were Such A Good Country

RIP to Joey Feek, who died of cervical cancer earlier this year.  Joey + Rory were such a good country duo.  Rory blogged their whole battle, and made a movie about her after she died.  They were full of so much love for each other, and for God.  They were able to make an album full of hymns before she died, which was something she said she always wanted to do.

RIP Joey Feek, you are missed.

I should cry wolf. I should run // We both know that this ain’t love but I don’t mind

Such a cool song.  He has an older quality to his music that’s really cool and unique. Love the grooviness (if that’s a word lol) of this song and the smooth vocals. Also I love supporting young great independent acts like him.

I will hold you in the depths of your despair // And it’s all in the name of love

This is a really cool and different song for her.  I love Bebe’s voice and she really shines in this song, basically showing off her huge range.  Love the dance beat Martin Garrix provides.  Definitely my favorite song of his.

I’ll never be somebody else just to make it // I’ll never go living a lie just to fake it

My favorite off the All The Lights EP.  This song is just all around magic.  Love the harmonies in the song, though they may be subtle.  Riley really shows off his vocal range in this song, and he sounds just as good when they perform it live. Awesome mix of electro pop with the roots of their old music.

I’m a gøner // Somebody catch my breath

Huge congrats to these guys on their Grammy nominations! If a had to choose a favorite on Blurryface, this would be it. Beautifully haunting lyrics, though they may be simple, with such an explosive and emotional ending. This song really ends the album perfectly.

You didn’t come this far to just get this far // You didn’t shoot for the moon just to hit the stars

Probably my favorite on the You Can’t Kill Us album.  Ariel’s vocals in this song are absolutely awesome.  The melody and lyrical style in this song is a little more reminiscent of older Icon for Hire stuff, and is what made me fall in love with them in the first place.  Their rock heavy sound with rap and electronic fusion is unmatched.
