Aemond has a solidariety for him Helaena is just stuck and his mother may love the bones of him but he’s still the monster she was forced to have his grandfather can’t stand him and his father doesn’t love him and the rest of the family doesn’t care about him .If he can’t have love (love where he doesn’t have to give anything in return,because the reason why is he unloved is in big part because he’s a monster) he will have power, power over people .This is why he rapes Dyana and why he’s so happy in the coronation scenes and why watching child pits amuses him .The smallfolk doesn’t really care about who sits on the throne ,but the lords ARE supporting him partially because of their misogyny .Hes a real man he’s not lazy he’s not a monster he’s cool he’s fierce because being a white rich man in a deeply patriarchal society gives you power .

Also I’m sorry but it’s extremely comical how the people constantly going on and on about how much Lyanna is preferable to Elia and it’s written all over the narrative because Lyanna is the true love and Elia is not, because Elia is not as beautiful as Lyanna because Rhaegar supposedly dies with Lyanna’s name on his lips and doesn’t spare a thought for his wife, because while Lyanna dies in her bed of roses in Elia of Dorne’s land, Elia dies alone beaten and r*ped with her dead children far from home, because Lyanna’s son is a secret prince surely meant to marry the princess and bring forth a golden age with a thousand children, Elia’s son is surely fake and meant to die a death as vile as his mothers.

I don’t agree with any of the above btw, I just think it’s funny that the people that do and consistently say the same talking points can’t be satisfied with that? It doesn’t matter to them that Elia of Dorne is *degraded by the narrative*. They need her to be *degraded by the fandom as well*. They cannot tolerate a reality where Elia could be preferred to their favorite white self insert.

Truly what else is there? Because I can say the same about Elia? Who was the mother of Aegon & Rhaenys and possible mother of Young Griff, kind, sweet wit, found travel exciting and traveled extensively, had poor health due to being premature, titled Princess of Dorne, almost wed Jaime Lannister and Baelor Hightower, was one of the rare individual in the entire series to be kind towards baby Tyrion Lannister, had a fond relationship with Rhaegar Targaryen who she was wed to, brought many ladies to attend her either signifying female friendships or political intelligence, meant to be Queen, likely one of the few noble ladies with Valyrian Blood at the time, loved by her kingdom so fiercely many fought and died for her, her kingdom also held a grudge over her death and longed for justice, held hostage by Aerys Targaryen and died due to speculated grudge Tywin may have held over Elia being preferred to Cersei, has a niece named after her, with other nieces wishing to bring justice to her and her slain children, deeply loved by both of her brothers with one dying to bring her justice and so grieved by another he is considering assisting a boy claiming to be her son.

So maybe let’s chill on the questioning why people like Elia and let’s reread the books where she’s referenced from the very beginning and is important to a major plot line and Dorne.

As to whether or not people prefer Lyanna to Elia, I don’t care about that. As long as yall remember it’s perfectly valid to prefer Elia as well. 🙂‍↕️🫶
