It could be even sweeter to see these two characters, who love "the song of steel," eventually meet.

Why should he care that his parents died in the rebellion and Lyanna's pregnancy, his mother, was a secret? why should he care that his father was a Targaryen prince? Why should he care that his parents ran away together and died for it? Why should he care that maybe he's not a bastard?

Similarly, when Arya became the cupbearer of Roose Bolton, she witnessed war councils and political meetings. This on the job training was specifically intended within the narrative to prepare Rhaenyra to become queen regnant, while GRRM intentionally includes this as part of Arya’s ongoing training.
