Letting Go Potion [for Relationships That No Longer Serve You]
Letting Go Potion [for relationships that no longer serve you]
Letting go of people isn't always easy, even if they aren't good for you. I could wax poetic about the number of toxic relationships, whether romantic or platonic, I've kept alive simply because I was too anxious to set boundaries. Even when people would hurt me, I'd still grieve those relationships after they ended. This concoction has a lot of ingredients that focus on cleansing, strength, and joy, which can be helpful in those times of transition after endings.
Ingredients
2 large leafy basil sprigs, stems smashed with side of knife
1 piece thinly sliced ginger
2 cups water
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp ground turmeric
2 cups grapefruit juice
2 cups orange juice
1/3 cup lemon juice
Add basil, water, ginger, honey, and turmeric to small saucepan and bring to a boil over med-high heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove pan from heat and let cool. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher. Use a spatula to press as much of the liquid goodness as possible. Measure off 1 cup of syrup (reserve the remaining for sweetening other teas).
To a large pitcher, add the measured syrup, lemon juice, orange juice, and grapefruit juice together until combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
This makes about 4 servings, so you can adjust portions as needed or make the full amount.
For magical workings: focus on your intention with ever step. Breathe in the vapors as the syrup heats, envisioning protecting your heart, strengthening yourself, and knowing that you are enough. You can also pray to whatever deities you feel can help with your working, or light candles that match your intention.
For a little extra layer of magic, do this in the last few nights of the lunar cycle, just before the new moon.

Place star anise under your pillow to protect against nightmares.
Trans and genderqueer joy forever
"Aphrodite loves terfs" do you really think a goddess of love formed from a literal penis and the mother of Hermaphroditus, an intersex god who was associated with androgyny and feminine men, fucks around with transphobia?
she is a literal trans icon and to deny that will get you smited by all the gods
