Kitchen Witch Recipe: Illness Protection Tea

This is a tea that I like during the fall and winter months because of the warmth, but it's also a helpful little potion for wellness.

Ingredients

Ginger tea for healing

Cinnamon sticks for cleansing

Lemon slices for purification

Cloves for protection

Honey for comfort and warmth

Instructions

Simply brew your tea. While it's steeping, add in the cinnamon, lemon and cloves (I didn't include quantities because the flavor profile comes down to preference). Before drinking, add a little honey and stir either clockwise to invite healing energies in or counterclockwise to banish illness.

As you stir, you may want to call upon any deities associated with healing. I usually invoke Apollo for this. If you don't work with deities, simply channeling your intention and working with the healing energies is also a good option.

Kitchen Witch Recipe- Lemon Rice for Abundance

The mundane- This is a nice little side dish made with ingredients you might have on hand. The lemon is bright without overpowering the dish. Honestly, just a winner all around in my book.

The witchy- Rice shines as the key ingredient, so this dish is excellent for enhancing spells for abundance, especially with dill (great for money magic) in the mix! You also get some protective energies from the garlic and parsley which could be separate focuses entirely, or tie back into protection of your assets.

Makes 4 servings!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 cup long grain rice

Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

2 1/2 cups vegetable broth

1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Heat the oil in a pan. Add onion and cook over medium heat until softened (about 3 minutes). Add garlic and cook another minute.

Stir in uncooked rice and toast 2-3 minutes, stirring often.

Stir in lemon juice and zest, then add vegetable broth.

Bring to a simmer. Lower heat and cover the pan with a lid. Cook about 20 minutes, until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.

Turn off the heat and leave covered about 10 minutes.

Uncover and stir in parsley and dill. I like serving this with additional thin slices of lemon.

As always, if you want to add a little extra razzle dazzle to it, you can make a ritual of it. Focus your intention on each ingredient as you add it in. Light a green candle. Include stones associated with abundance on your kitchen altar if you have one. Anything that helps you feel more magical as you make this dish.

I made these peaches and cream parfaits for a love spell.

I Made These Peaches And Cream Parfaits For A Love Spell.

These magical parfaits are designed to strengthen the bond between you and your lover, using the symbolic properties of peaches, honey, cinnamon, and rose water.

What you'll need to make peaches and cream parfaits for a love spell

4 ripe peaches (symbolizing love, longevity, and fertility)

1 cup heavy cream (representing nurturing, love, and protection)

1 tablespoon honey (to sweeten the relationship and promote affection)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for sensuality and warmth)

1 tablespoon rose water (symbol of love, beauty, and romance)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for passion and desire)

1/2 cup crushed graham crackers or biscotti (grounding the spell, representing stability)

1 cup heavy cream (to top off with extra sweetness)

1 cup Greek yogurt (for a smooth, creamy texture and healthy element)

Strawberries (to garnish, symbolizing love and sensuality)

Instructions

Set your intentions. Before starting, take a few moments to meditate and visualize the love or relationship you wish to attract or strengthen. As you prepare each ingredient, infuse it with loving intentions, thinking of the outcome you desire.

Slice the peaches into thin wedges while focusing on love and affection blossoming in your life. Visualize the energy of the peaches aligning with your heart’s desires.

In a small bowl, drizzle the peach slices with honey, and sprinkle them with a pinch of cinnamon. Stir gently while repeating an affirmation of love and attraction (e.g., “With the sweetness of honey, love flows my way, bringing warmth and joy to my day.”)

In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract and rose water until soft peaks form. As you whip, visualize the sweetness and tenderness of a loving relationship growing stronger with every movement.

When the cream is ready, taste it and feel the warmth of the vanilla and rose on your tongue, affirming, “Love flows to me easily, filled with sweetness and joy.”

Gently fold the whipped cream into the Greek yogurt until fully combined, creating a smooth and creamy layer representing harmony in your relationship.

In two clear glasses, layer the peach mixture, granola, and cream mixture. Start with a layer of peaches, followed by granola, and then the cream mixture. Repeat until the glasses are full, finishing with a layer of the cream mixture on top.

As you prepare the parfaits, focus on your intentions for the love spell. Visualize the sweetness and affection you wish to cultivate in your relationship. You might say a loving affirmation as you layer the ingredients, like “With each layer, my love grows sweeter and deeper.”

Enjoy the parfaits with your lover, sharing your feelings and intentions. You can serve them during a romantic dinner or a cozy date night.

Additional tip: As you enjoy the parfaits, take a moment to reflect on your relationship and the love you wish to nurture.

Kitchen Witch Recipe- Orange Cardamom Hot Chocolate [for love magic]

The mundane: I'm a sucker for chocolate and orange combos, so this is a recipe that's right up my alley. Add in cardamon (one of my favorite spices), and just *chef's kiss*. Also, as we start moving into the cooler part of the year, hot chocolate just hits the spot. I know it's more of a winter drink, but give me hot chocolate year-round, and am a very happy witch.

The magical: Chocolate tends to be universally synonymous with love, so having it as the star of this drink adds a big boost of love magic. Cardamon adds a warm sort of energy and helps to enhance love, lust, and sensuality, as well offering a boost of confidence. Orange also is used in love magic, but I really like it for enhancing happiness.

Ingredients

4 cups milk (I prefer whole milk for my hot chocolates, but use whatever you think is best)

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or just roughly cut it from a chocolate bar)

Rind of half an orange- use a vegetable peeler and try to get as little of the white bits as possible

10 cardamon pods, cracked

Directions

Add orange peel and cracked cardamon pods to the milk in a saucepan.

Bring it to a boil. Stir often! You don't want it to scald.

Remove the orange peel and cardamon pods.

And your chocolate to the milk. Stir until melted.

Serve as is, or spruce it up. I like adding whipped cream and strips of candied orange peel.

To use this in conjunction with love magic, focus on your intention as you drink it.

Also, while making it, think about what you hope to accomplish. Is this a self-love ritual? Are you sharing it with a partner to enhance existing energies, ignite a little passion, etc? Or maybe you're using it for attracting someone. Whatever the purpose, cater this spell to it. Invoke a love deity to help you. Light red or pink candles. Add rose quartz or carnelian to your kitchen while preparing the hot chocolate.

There's something about simmer pots that makes me feel like I'm getting back to my roots in a way nothing else does. And it makes me miss home a little more than usual.

My ex girlfriend and I would make each other simmer pot blends. She would throw things together and just "This feels like witchcraft, so I thought of you."

Anyway. Making a little blessing blend.

There's Something About Simmer Pots That Makes Me Feel Like I'm Getting Back To My Roots In A Way Nothing

Orange for joy

Rose for love

Lavender for peace

Allspice for luck

Bay for my wishes.

I'll be straining the liquid later to use in cleaning rituals throughout the week.

Witch Safety Tip:

Don't burn cinnamon or cassia. I know it smells delicious. I know it has the cleansing power we all dream of. But cinnamon is a SEVERE respiratory irritant. Even if your lungs are healthy, it can cause lung scarring. If your lungs are less than flawless? Disaster.

That includes cinnamon oil.

Cinnamon scented candles are fine, because they're stabilized.

Heating cinnamon or cinnamon oil up is fine.

Just don't burn it.

Bonus Tip: don't put cinnamon on your skin. ESPECIALLY NOT CINNAMON OIL. We use cinnamon oil to strip varnish from furniture. Back in ye olde days of the 2010s, people mixed cinnamon powder with water to give themselves a facial peel. They peeled their flesh right off! Cinnamon can give you third degree chemical burns.

~ Some Basic Pumpkin Magic ~

•~• Some Basic Pumpkin Magic •~•

Even though July isn’t even over yet and autumn is not as near as I would like it to be, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite things in the world - pumpkins! I always love when these bad boys come around in the autumn, so to be prepared for the coming autumn months, I thought I’d make a little summary of some pumpkin associations and magic!

Colors

When we think of pumpkins, we tend to think of the color orange, which is associated with attraction, creativity, and new opportunities. But pumpkins can also be found in other colors, such as green, yellow, and white! If you want the general associations of a pumpkin but want to use a different kind of color magic, maybe look into the less iconic but still wonderful varieties of pumpkins.

Pumpkin Associations and Uses

Pumpkins are often associated with abundance and prosperity due to their large size and many, many, seeds. The seeds are also a feature that promotes new life and expansion. Pumpkins also tend to last long periods of time when not disturbed, so the expansion aspect of the seeds can be longer-term as the pumpkin itself can last longer.

Pumpkins are also ruled by the moon and their element is water. Doing spells and rituals regarding the moon and/or water can be amplified by the pumpkin’s natural associations with these things.

Pumpkins are also used to ward off evil and for spirit protection. Carving them into faces is a common tradition and they became used in what we know as a jack-o-lantern as a replacement for the traditional turnip. If you want to double up on the protection aspect, carve a sigil, rune, or other protective symbol into the pumpkin instead of a face.

Which also leads me to the time of year that these are around. Pumpkins are an autumnal plant and are heavily associated with harvest festivals and spiritual festivals. The most well known would be Mabon and Samhain, with our modern day Halloween coming from Samhain, thus the jack-o-lanterns at this time of year outside of the magical community.

Other Magical Uses

Aside from the jack-o-lantern spells, the most obvious and my personal favorite way to use pumpkins is kitchen magic. I have sweet pumpkin tea that I stir clockwise to attract abundance and prosperity. You can also use them in baking, such as a pumpkin pie, or regular cooking, such as pumpkin soups and stews. They work really well with spices. If you’re working on spiritual protection with the pumpkin, using cinnamon to enhance the protection properties. Also cinnamon and pumpkin is one of my all time favorite flavor combinations so it also tastes amazing!

The pumpkin’s physical characteristics can also be used in spells. Carve out your pumpkin and use it as a bowl or container for your spellwork.

And last on this post but definitely not the last way to use it is the drying of its seeds and using the seeds throughout your magical year. As mentioned, these seeds are great for new beginnings, and as they are connected to a moon associated plant, new moon spells and rituals of attracting abundance and new beginnings work really well when adding some pumpkin seeds.

I hope y’all found this helpful and let me know if you want basic breakdown of anything else!

thinking of exploring christopaganism, but only for the vietnamese kitchen gods (and maybe ong dia and than tai too idk). i thought maybe i could replace them with st. martha (patron saint of homemakers and cooks) but i don't really feel much of a connection to her tbh. but obviously, i'm not gonna worship them, i'll just ask them to pray for me like they're saints.

Kitchen Witchery 101: How to Use Food as Magick

Food is not only a source of nourishment for our bodies but also a powerful medium for manifestation and healing. As a kitchen witch, you can infuse your cooking with intention and magick to enhance the flavors, aromas, and energy of your meals.

In this article, we'll explore some tips and techniques for using food as magickal tools in your witchcraft practice.

Setting the Mood: Creating a Sacred Kitchen Space

Before you start cooking, it's important to create a harmonious and magickal ambiance in your kitchen. This can be done by smudging the area with sage or palo santo, playing calming music, and incorporating natural elements like crystals or plants. You may also want to set up an altar or a small shrine with magickal tools, symbols, or deity statues that resonate with your cooking intentions.

Choosing Ingredients: Aligning with the Elements

Each ingredient in your recipe carries a unique element and energy that can affect the outcome of your magickal cooking. For example, herbs and spices like basil, rosemary, and thyme are associated with the element of air and are good for mental clarity and communication. Root vegetables like carrots, beets, and potatoes are related to the element of earth and are great for grounding and rooting energy. Fruits like oranges, lemons, and berries are associated with the element of water and can enhance emotional healing and intuition. And hot peppers, garlic, and ginger are related to the element of fire and can add passion, courage, and creativity to your recipes.

Infusing Intentions: Adding Magickal Properties to Your Recipes

Once you've chosen your ingredients, it's time to infuse them with your intentions and magickal energy. This can be done through visualization, chanting, or simple affirmations. For example, you can bless your ingredients by saying "I bless this salt with protection and purification," or "I infuse these tomatoes with love, healing, and prosperity." You can also symbolically charge your ingredients by arranging them in a sacred geometric pattern, such as a pentacle, a spiral, or a flower of life.

Cooking with Intention: Stirring, Chanting, and Blessing

As you cook your meal, keep your intentions and magickal energy flowing by stirring the pot clockwise to attract positive energy and counterclockwise to banish negative energy. You can also chant, hum, or sing a magickal song that aligns with your intentions while cooking. And finally, don't forget to bless and thank your meal before serving, by saying "I thank the spirits of the ingredients for their energy and blessings. May this meal nourish and heal my body, mind, and soul."

Some Simple Kitchen Witch Recipes:

- Prosperity Rice: Boil rice with water, add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger, and sprinkle with green onions. As you stir clockwise, visualize abundance, prosperity, and success flowing into your life. Serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables.

- Love Potion Tea: Boil water in a teapot, add fresh rose petals, cinnamon sticks, and honey, and let it steep for 10 minutes. As you pour the tea, visualize love, passion, and intimacy filling your heart and relationships. Serve with cookies or chocolates.

- Healing Soup: Boil chicken broth with chopped carrots, celery, and herbs like parsley and thyme. As you stir clockwise, visualize healing, peace, and strength entering your body and mind. Serve hot with bread or crackers.

Kitchen witchery is a beautiful and practical way to connect with the spirit of food, nature, and your inner wisdom. By incorporating magickal intention and energy into your cooking, you can transform a mundane activity into a sacred ritual that nourishes your soul and body. So, don't be afraid to experiment with your recipes and let your intuition guide you towards the perfect flavors and ingredients for your magickal meal.

You know what I like about tea? It’s a combination of the four elements.

The tea leaves make up the earth, the foundation, the water that creates the body, the heat and flame that boils the water in order to bring out the properties of the tea leaves, and the delicate, silvery wisps that rise and disappear as we blow on the finished drink to cool it enough to sip.

It’s the perfect blend of the elements, all converging in one place to create a beverage that can be used in so many different ways, whether it’s just to enjoy while doing some paper work or reading a book, using it as an offering to a deity or Mother Earth, or stirring in a spell or enchantment as you add honey or lemon.

And the number of different types and ways you can make tea are nearly limitless! If you’ve got a filter you can use purified rain water or moon water. You can make your won medicinal tea with herbs, or use the flowers you foraged from the great greenwood and vast moor, or harvested from your garden.

It’s truly the witch’s beverage, no matter the path or practice you choose.

Beef Stew Recipe - Potion of Fortitude

Whether it's been an exhausting week, a frigid winter's day, or just a stressful time, few things are more comforting than a hearty bowl of stew. I make this beef stew for myself whenever I need a true pick-me-up or when I'm preparing for an in-depth magical working. It provides lasting energy, warmth, and strength.

Plus, this recipe is scalable - make a ton and freeze it to enjoy for weeks or just make a little bit for one meal. The measurements below are approximate; measure with your heart.

Ingredients:

Chuck roast, cut to half-inch cubes (you can get pre-chunked stew meat, which is what I typically get)

Flour, enough to coat the beef

Salt and Pepper (about 1 tsp salt & 1/2 tsp pepper), for seasoning the beef coating

2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter

1 Onion, diced

2 Large Potatoes, peeled and cut into half-inch to one-inch cubes

2 Carrots, peeled and cut into rounds

5-6 Cloves of Garlic, finely diced

4 cups Beef Broth

Herbs of your choice, such as: Sage, Thyme, Marjoram, Celery Seed, Bay, Chili Flakes

Additional veggies of your choice, such as: Parsnips, Turnips, Bok Choy

Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Mix together your flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss the beef chunks in the mixture to coat. This will create a nice brown crispiness on the outside.

In your stew pot, sauté your flour-coated beef until browned on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.

Add more oil to your pot and cook your onion until translucent. If you don't mind soft carrots in your stew, add them now and cook until just starting to soften and brown. (Note: I often leave the carrots until after the potatoes are nearly cooked through because I don't like the texture of fully-cooked carrots.)

Once your onions are translucent and your carrots have started to soften/brown, toss in your butter and scrape the bottom of the pot. You want to get all those beautiful, delicious brown bits back into the mixture. You can add a little water if you need help loosening the bits.

Add your garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Put your beef back into the pot (along with any drippings from the plate/bowl you placed it in). Pour your broth over everything and give it all a good stir.

Toss your potatoes into the pot. Bring it all to a boil and reduce your heat to let it simmer.

Add your herbs and spices. I recommend salt, pepper, sage, thyme, celery seed (or salt), and bay. If you like it spicy, you can throw in a bit of chili powder or flakes.

Simmer for at least one hour or until your potatoes are soft and your beef becomes tender, stirring occasionally.

If your stew isn't thick enough by the time your potatoes are done, you can make a cornstarch slurry by combining one tablespoon of cornstarch with two tablespoons of water. Pour the slurry into the stew and let it cook until thickened to your desired consistency.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with crusty bread, veggie side dishes, or whatever else you like.

Optional magic you can include:

As mentioned above, I often use this recipe to bolster or replenish my energy before or after an intense magical working. It also works for physical exertions - I made this for a group of my partner's friends while they were moving heavy furniture to a new apartment, and it gave them all the energy to move everything in one night!

This stew has an intense comforting effect. If someone I know has been working hard, stressing out, or hasn't been feeding themselves properly, I'll make this for them to help them remember to take care of themselves. It's rejuvenating, hearty, and full of love.

Depending on the herbs you choose to include, this could also be a powerful protection spell. Especially in the cold months, I use this as a protective ward against the cold exhaustion that pulls at the body and mind.

Pop a bit of chili in this spell to both speed up its effects and cast out negativity! Nothing clears the sinuses like a nose full of spice, and nothing clears the body of bad vibes like a good dose of chili flake.

Like many of my spell recipes, this one is most effective when it's shared. Give a bowl to your friends, your family, your neighbors, whoever. It makes a wonderful offering to house spirits or ancestors.

If you make this recipe, please let me know your thoughts! And if you enjoy this or my other posts, please consider dropping a couple dollars in my Ko-Fi tip jar!

Happy cooking, witches! 🍲

Comforting Chicken Stew for Lazy Days (Recipe)

Nothing makes me feel better on a chilly day than coming home to a pot of long-simmering stew. With the colder seasons coming up, I wanted to share with you babes a lovely chicken stew that I hope brings you comfort <3

Comforting Chicken Stew For Lazy Days (Recipe)

Ingredients:

4 and 1/2 cups chicken thighs (3 lbs) diced

Canola oil

3 TBSP butter

1 yellow onion finely chopped

1/3 cup flour

6 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 TBSP tomato paste

2 TSP thyme, fresh or dried

1/4 TSP sage, dried

4 cups chicken broth (I use reduced sodium)

2 TBSP cooking white wine (real wine is suitable, but use double the listed amount)

1 cup red potatoes, chopped into 1/2” pieces (not too small or they get too mushy)

1 cup Yukon gold potatoes, chopped 1/2" pieces

3 large carrots peeled and sliced

2 bay leaves

1 cup peas, frozen

1/2 cup heavy cream (to make the stew lighter, sub more chicken broth, half and half or just milk instead)

1 TBSP parsley, fresh and minced

Instructions:

Pat the chicken dry so that cooking brings out more caramelization and color, then season with salt and pepper to your liking

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the chicken in batches, about 5 - 6 minutes, flipping occasionally until golden and cooked through

Heat the butter in the skillet and add the onions, cooking until softened and stirring occasionally (~6 - 8 minutes).

Add the flour and garlic, stir for 20 seconds and then add the tomato paste, thyme and sage, cooking until fragrant (~1 minute)

Slowly whisk in half of the chicken broth and the cooking wine, scraping up any bits from the chicken

Add the potatoes and carrots along with the remaining broth and cooking wine. Simmer with the lid on over medium-low heat for 10 minutes

Add all ingredients except the peas and cream into the slow cooker and cover. Cook for 4-5 hours

Discard the bay leaves, then stir in the peas and cream. Add the lid and cook for 5 more minutes

Serve with fresh parsley, and salt and pepper to taste

This stew is also good to be frozen for later. Make sure you let it cool completely, then put it in and air tight container or heavy duty freezer bag.

LIght the candle and gaze into the flame

Visualize your fond memories of the person who left your life. As you do this say, "I thank you for the time we had together, I thank you for the love we shared, I thank you for being an important part of my life. We have parted, we move on, we remember. I wish you the best life has to offer and hope you have found happiness."

Kitchen Witch Recipes:

Super-Quick Bonus Recipe for Gwion’s Red Onion Pickle Bliss

Fills one pint-sized jar

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes, plus 30 minutes to cool in the fridge

1 medium red onion

3 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup water

10 black peppercorns

2/3 cup white wine vinegar,

rice vinegar, or apple cider vinegar

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 sprig rosemary

1 clove garlic, peeled and halved

Slice the onion very thinly and place it in your clean, dry jar. Set it aside.

Add the rest of the ingredients to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil until the sugar has fully dissolved. Stir carefully so you don’t break the rosemary. The sprig is in there to add flavour, and you’ll discard it before the next step.

Let the pickling mixture (the water, vinegar, and spices) cool down for about 10 minutes. Discard the sprig of rosemary and pour the remaining

ingredients into the jar of onions. Make sure all of the onions are submerged

in the picking liquid. If you have to, use a spoon to push the onions down in the jar. Seal the jar and put it in the fridge to cool. The onions are ready to eat once they are cool, about 30 minutes.

Serve them on avocado toast, burgers, salads, or just with a fork straight out of the jar. Remember to kiss your partner or partners before eating the onions out of the jar, unless they’re into pungent kisses.

Goat for a God: Roasted Goat Leg with Grape Molasses

Great for Deities: Dionysus, Pan and Thor

Serves : 6

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes

1 goat leg (about 3 pounds)

1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon olive oil

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon cumin

2 teaspoons black pepper

4 tablespoons grape molasses

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon coriander

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

1 cup white wine + one glass for sipping and toasting while cooking (use mead if you're cooking this for Thor)

1 bay leaf

2 large carrots, chopped into

1" chunks

1 celery root, peeled and chopped into 1" cubes

Open the bottle of white wine or mead and take a hefty drink. (This is optional but deities do like when you drink with them but they can respect if you don't partake.)

Preheat the oven to 375° F.

Liberally season the goat leg with salt and pepper.

Rub the minced garlic all over the goat leg too. If it helps, poke a few holes in the goat leg so you can get the garlic right into the meat.

Place the rosemary sprigs and bay leaf in the bottom of a large roasting pan and put the goat leg right on top. Add the carrots and celery root around the edges. Pour the olive oil all over the goat and rub it around. Coat the carrots and celery root too.

Pour the white wine around the bottom of the roasting pan.

Loosely cover with kitchen foil and put the whole pan into the oven for 2 hours.

About an hour and forty-five minutes into the cooking process, it’s time to make the glaze.

Mix the grape molasses—which is a super-condensed syrup made of grape must—in a bowl with a tablespoon of olive oil, the coriander, and the cumin. You can substitute honey for the grape molasses if for Thor.

At the two-hour mark, pull the roasting pan out of the oven and paint the goat with the grape (or honey) and spice glaze.

Pop the goat and veggies, uncovered, back into the oven for another 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 145° F.

When you’re ready to serve this dish, scoop the veggies into a bowl (fornow) and put the goat leg on a platter. If you have access to one, get a cedar plank and serve the goat on it.

Medical Tonics and Infusions:

Infusion- An infusion is the simplest way to prepare the more delicate aerial parts of plants, especially leaves and flowers, for use as a medicine or as a revitalizing or relaxing drink. It is made in a similar way to tea, using either a single herb or a combination of herbs, and may be drunk hot or cold.

Pot Infusion

For a cup:

1 tsp (2–3 g) dried or 2 tsp (4–6 g) fresh herb (or mixture of herbs) to a cup of water

For a pot:

20 g dried herb or 30 g fresh herb (or a mixture of different herbs) to 2 cups (500 ml) of water

Warm the pot, then add the herb.

Pour in water that has just boiled, replace the lid, and infuse for 10 minutes.

Strain some of the infusion into a cup. A teaspoon of honey may be added if desired.

Storage:

Store in a covered jug in a refrigerator or cool place for up to 24 hours.

Tonic Making

Standard Quantity:

200 g dried or 300 g fresh herb chopped into small pieces to 1 quart (1 liter) alcohol—vodka of 35–40% alcohol is ideal, although rum hides the taste of bitter or unpalatable herbs

Standard Dosage:

Take 1 tsp (5 ml) 2 –3 times a day diluted in 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp (25 ml) of water or fruit juice.

Place the herb in a large, clean glass jar and pour on the alcohol, ensuring that the herb is covered. Close and label the jar.

Shake well for 1–2 minutes and store in a cool dark place for 10–14 days, shaking the jar every 1–2 days.

Set up the wine press, placing a muslin or nylon mesh bag securely inside. Pour in the mixture and collect the liquid in the jug.

Slowly close the wine press, extracting the remaining liquid from the herbs until no more drips appear. Discard the leftover herbs.

Pour the tincture into clean, dark glass bottles using a funnel. When full, stopper with a cork or screw top and label the bottles.

Storage:

Store in sterilized, dark glass bottles in a cool dark place for up to 2 years. An amber glass jar is the best option.

Sorry this post is so long @_@ But please enjoy and use wisely. Bye byes~
