Kitchen witch tip #1
When stirring, stir in positive energy and love and stir out negative and sickness, this might be easier that clockwise and contour clockwise. Work with kneading dough
Kitchen witch tip #3
Remember when you wash your cooking tools and any ingredients do so with a calm, happy mind with intent because you're using magic which technically is cleaning them.
How To Witchcraft: Rose Water 💕🌹
For the longest time I saw Rose Water being used in spells but could never find any forms of how to make it. After many attempts I finally found an easy and full proof way to make lovely Rose Water that is edible and can be used for gardening!
Ingredients:
10 to 15 Rose Petals 💕
1 cup water 💕
Any edible herb (optional) 💕
Instruction:
Place the 1 cup of water into a bowl and heat it til the water is warm but not boiling. Add any herb that is edible into the warm water (this part is optional). Gently place the petals into the water so that they make a thin layer on top. Bring the water to a boil and let it stay boiling on it’s own for 1 minute. Get a jar and strain the water so that no petals or herbs make their way in. Now, get the petals that are now soaked and mush them above the water so that they’re colouring go into the water. Close the jar and draw a sigil into the water or put a sigil on the jar if you want to and you’re done!

Honey Lavender Bread
submitted by @materiamystica
½ cup Greek yoghurt ½ cup plain flour 1tsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt 1 tbsp dried lavender 1 tbsp honey 1 egg, beaten
The intent is to increase mental clarity and connection. To clear your spiritual and mental brain fog so that you can think and see more clearly again. To improve clarity of vision and connection to your heart’s desire. Lavender is employed to stimulate clarity and connection, cleansing, memory, passion, peace of mind, healing, love, passion and retention. With the honey for added sweetness and stickiness to make visions all the more sweet, and memories stick more permanently. Harvesting your own lavender can also be intended to honour Lammas, too!
1. Mix everything in a bowl and preheat the oven at 350 F. 2. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead adding more flour until it’s no longer sticky and has formed a nice stretchy bread dough. 3. Put into a floured loaf tin. 4. Brush top with egg wash. 5. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until a golden crust has formed and a skewer comes out clean. 6. Slice and enjoy!
you know that bit of witchcraft where you transfer negative energies and maladies into an egg? and how you’re supposed to smash the egg afterwards?
it seems like a waste of perfectly edible food to me, so I thought of an alternative for completing the spell.
instead of smashing the egg, cook it up and eat it.
when you cook the egg, you’re already destroying its original form on a chemical and physical level–you’re changing its physical state. and a raw egg on its own can be dangerous; we all know about salmonella and I’m sure there’s other similar risks. so by cooking the egg, you’re taking something potentially dangerous and making it safer. Heat and fire are also destroying agents in magic, so the heat of the frying pan alone could symbolically destroy the negative energies you transferred to the egg.
now, I know it might seem counterproductive to eat something that you transferred bad energy into. I mean, that would just return it to you, right? well, since you’ve cooked the egg, you’ve already destroyed all that.
however, I view the act of eating/consuming to be one of the ultimate forms of subjugation. I mean, whether you eat meat or not, you have to consume another living entity to survive, and humans are the species that dominates the globe.
so to me, eating the egg would be a huge reinforcement of the destruction part, because not only have you destroyed your enemy, you’re now eating it and enjoying it. You have fully subjugated the negativity in your life; you are the master of your fate.
so when you do the egg spell, cook that sucker up with some appropriate herbs and enjoy yourself a nice meal.
spoonie spell for energy
i’ve been veryvery low on energy lately (hello depression or autistic burnout), and when i spontaneously tried this yesterday, it had surprisingly effective results. (ofc, with the ingredients used, it can probably be scientifically/biologically explained, but it’s so much more rewarding to think about it in a magical way tbh, so why the fuck not, u know?) so i thought i’d share with my fellow spoonie witches.
you’ll need:
mug
teaspoon
instant coffee (i use espresso)
boiling water
sweetener or spice of your choice (i use honey, but you could also use sugars, cinnamon, whatever else you enjoy putting in your coffee and associate with energy)
how to do it:
put appropriate amount of instant coffee in mug (i use one teaspoon)
add boiling water
stir clockwise while chanting (in your head or vocally) the word “energy”
add sweetener or spice
repeat step 3
the fifth ingredient, and also step 4 + 5, is of course optional, i’ve just found that i’ve had greater success when i’ve added some honey. this is incredibly simple, but i’ve found it to be surprisingly effective. i usually stir quite fast, and more times than what’s simply needed to stir out the instant coffee and sweetener/spice.
and yes, i know i should add correspondences, but: i’m low on spoons. obviously. and i didn’t do any research on the ingredients before making this, i just went with my intuition and what i had available to me. maybe i’ll add correspondences later, or if someone else feels inclined: please go ahead.
Cleansing/Clearing Things to add to your food
Cinnamon: fiery energy, good for productivity, not good for emotional clearing as it is has fiery energy and it may induce stronger emotions. Good for work related issues as well as sickness, it causes one to sweat out a fever.
Garlic: good overall cleanser, good for the immune system, said to be the Incarnation of San Miguel. Protects against evil, is said to ward off mosquitos (and thus my family is a staunch garlic farm whenever summer comes around).
Onion: protective, cleanser against, the above foods cause energy to flow through the body thus they're good for when one has spiritual blockages. They can have the ability to cause fiery energy in the body.
Rosemary: good overall cleanser, less fiery than the above. Good for promoting mental clarity and peace, regarded in grimoires as being able to cast out evil spirits and prevent them from taking hold. A tea of it can be used as a hair wash to prevent hair loss. Don't drink too much of it as a tea, as it can cause vomitting.
Salt: the Solider, it does what you tell it to do. Salt that has been consecrated can literally be added to anything... just literally - have a fucking jar of this stuff because it will save you a lot of damn time. Add it to baths, to food when cooking, mix it with a small bit of water and drink it. Don't use a lot of water or warm water as it will cause dehydration and/or vomiting.
Milk based items - such as yoghurt, or rice pudding, emotional clarity and mental peace, Lunar Quality, just as milk nurtures a calf, so too shall it nurture you.
Oats or other natural grains - earth element, brings the self back to the self, just very good source of energy and peace.
Items with iron content such as broccoli, spinach etc. self explanatory.
♡ STRAWBERRY BANANA CHEER-UP MUFFINS ♡ This recipe has always cheered up my family, and some witchy alterations can make it extra special ♡♡ INGREDIENTS: ♡ 1 ¾ cup flour ♡ 2/3 cup sugar ♡ ½ teaspoon baking soda ♡ 2 tsp baking powder ♡ 1 pinch salt ♡ 3 small-medium or 2 large bananas ♡ 1/3 cup softened butter ♡ 2 tbsp milk ♡ 2 eggs ♡ 5-10 strawberries BAKING INSTRUCTIONS: ♡ Mash bananas and set aside. Cut strawberries into quarters and set aside. Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl mix 1 cup of the flour with the sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the mashed banana, butter, and milk, and beat until blended. Turn mixer to high speed and beat for 2 more minutes. Add the remaining flour (¾ cup) and the eggs, and beat until blended. Stir in the strawberries. Pour the batter into lined cupcake tin. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean (for me this was around 25 minutes). WITCHY ADDITIONS: ♡ Draw sigils or runes (I’d suggest wunjo and uruz for this spell) with a toothpick onto the banana peels. By the time the muffins are done the symbols should appear clearer, then you can add them to compost or discard. ♡ When mixing dry ingredients, stir counterclockwise (before adding the salt) thinking about what currently vexes you or your family. Stir in the pinch of salt clockwise thinking momentarily about protecting you or your family from these struggles. ♡ When adding the eggs, clean and set aside the eggshells to dry - these can be ground up and used in future spells or for your garden. ♡ When adding the strawberries, think about small goals to bring happiness to you or your family and stir clockwise. CORRESPONDENCES: strawberries (love, bring forth positive changes), salt (protection), bananas (love, success), eggshells (protection) ♡ Share with your family or close loved ones to bring happiness and small mercies their way!
Letting Go Potion [for relationships that no longer serve you]
Letting go of people isn't always easy, even if they aren't good for you. I could wax poetic about the number of toxic relationships, whether romantic or platonic, I've kept alive simply because I was too anxious to set boundaries. Even when people would hurt me, I'd still grieve those relationships after they ended. This concoction has a lot of ingredients that focus on cleansing, strength, and joy, which can be helpful in those times of transition after endings.
Ingredients
2 large leafy basil sprigs, stems smashed with side of knife
1 piece thinly sliced ginger
2 cups water
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp ground turmeric
2 cups grapefruit juice
2 cups orange juice
1/3 cup lemon juice
Add basil, water, ginger, honey, and turmeric to small saucepan and bring to a boil over med-high heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove pan from heat and let cool. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher. Use a spatula to press as much of the liquid goodness as possible. Measure off 1 cup of syrup (reserve the remaining for sweetening other teas).
To a large pitcher, add the measured syrup, lemon juice, orange juice, and grapefruit juice together until combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
This makes about 4 servings, so you can adjust portions as needed or make the full amount.
For magical workings: focus on your intention with ever step. Breathe in the vapors as the syrup heats, envisioning protecting your heart, strengthening yourself, and knowing that you are enough. You can also pray to whatever deities you feel can help with your working, or light candles that match your intention.
For a little extra layer of magic, do this in the last few nights of the lunar cycle, just before the new moon.

Honey and Sesame Carrot Salad (side dishes for prosperity)
This is a fairly simple little salad that is light and fun, and with ingredients like carrots, radishes, and mint helps to promote prosperity.
For the salad
5 large carrots, peeled and ribboned into thin slices
5 radishes, thinly sliced
Handful of mint, fresh and thinly chopped
1 tbsp sesame seeds
For the dressing
3 tbsp rice vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp honey
Ground black pepper to taste
Soak carrot ribbons in a bowl of ice water for 15 minutes. Drain and air dry.
In a small bow, whisk together dressing ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Add carrots to a large bowl with radishes and mint. Drizzle with dressing and toss to combine.
Top with sesame seeds and garnish with extra mint leaves. Serve immediately.
To add the magic: It's all about intention. You can simply focus on manifesting prosperity as you prepare the ingredients. You can even say a little prayer or a spell, light green candles while you prepare this dish, etc.
Recipe notes: this is just the bare bones of the recipe, and you can adjust as desired. I, personally, like adding feta cheese to it.
Kitchen Witch Recipe: Sweet Potato Breakfast Bowl
This is a breakfast I love making when the day needs an extra nudge in a positive direction. The recipe serves about 3 people, so adjust as needed!
2-3 sweet potatoes (comfort)
1 tbsp fresh orange juice (happiness)
1 tsp ground cinnamon (love, energy)
2-3 tsp honey (love, happiness)
2 tbsp almond butter (inspiration)
Fruit and nut toppings to suit your tastes and intentions. I'm especially fond of adding dried cranberries.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 Fahrenheit. Pierce sweet potatoes with knife. Roast for an hour until potatoes are soft and cooked through. Remove from oven and let cool.
Peel skin away and add sweet potato to a bowl. Add honey, cinnamon, and orange juice and stir until smooth and creamy. Divide between bowls.
Dollop almond butter on top and swirl with potato mixture. Top with favorite toppings.
To add a little more magic and make more of a ritual of it, I will sometimes light a yellow candle as I prep everything, as well as tracing a sigil to match my intentions over the sweet potato skin before putting it in the oven.
Sabbat Recipe: Pumpkin Apple Cider Bisque for Abundance, Luck and Health.
Soup season is finally among us, and I am thrilled. This is a nice, cozy soup that makes a tasty addition to any fall sabbat (or just in general because it's never the wrong time to have soup).
1 tbsp butter
1 onion peeled and chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
15 oz canned pumpkin
1 cup apple cider
3 cups chicken stock.
Instructions
In large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Sautée 3-4 minutes.
Stirring in cinnamon, thyme, and nutmeg. Cook another 2-3 minutes.
Add canned pumpkin, apple cider, and broth. Stir to combine well.
Bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat and cover for 15-20 minutes.
Add to blender and puree until creamy.
Kitchen Witch Recipe: Balsamic Roasted Sweet Onions
The mundane: This fairly simple side dish takes the humble onion and really helps it shine. The sweet onion balances nicely with the tang of balsamic vinegar. There's a nice depth of flavor. Plus it's fairly simple to make (always a bonus in my house) and something different.
The witchy: This side dish is brimming with protection and banishment magic potential in the form of the onions, vinegar, and even the parsley garnish at the end, as well as your classic salt and pepper duo. This is an excellent side dish to make to utilize Saturday's protective energies and to enhance banishment workings.
Makes 6 servings, so adjust as needed
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
6 small sweet onions
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons dry white wine
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley to garnish
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
Peel the onions and cut them into halves
In a baking dish large enough to fit the onions, combine the butter and oil. Once combined, whisk in your balsamic vinegar, white whine, sugar, and salt and pepper.
Add the onions to the dish, placing them in a single layer, making sure the cut side is facing down.
Cover loosely with foil and bake about 20 minutes.
Remove from oven. Turn each onion over and brush them with the pan juices. Make sure they are well coated!
Put them back in the oven, uncovered, and bake another 20-25 minutes until onions are tender and have browned.
Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with parsley, and enjoy!
To add a little extra magic to it, feel free to make a ritual of it. Light a black candle as you focus your intentions during prep and cook time. Call upon any deities you might want to work with. Say a chant for protection or banishing. These little things can really add a little extra razzle dazzle to something that feel otherwise mundane to some.
