Anyone who knew Hizashi knew exactly how loud he was. It wasn’t on purpose, that was simply his nature and it was amplified by his quirk. They would have expected anyone related to him to be the same, or at least similar, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Hizashi loved his younger sibling to no end, despite their vast differences. See, they were two sides of a coin, where Hizashi was loud his sibling was silent, where he was outgoing and friendly, his sibling tended to hide from people they did not know. It made them total opposites and yet, they couldn’t be closer. Hizashi had picked up sign language the moment he learned that his beloved younger sibling wouldn’t be speaking and did his best to get them out of the house whenever he could, knowing they likely wouldn’t do it on their own. He kept his hair down and made sure he didn’t look too recognizable, knowing that they wouldn’t appreciate a mob of fans the way Hizashi would.

Today the two of them were doing a little shopping before going out to eat, Hizashi translating as needed. “Hey, look at that! You should try it on, come on, you’ll look great!” He grinned and held up a shirt for his sibling, watching them look it over before signing back.

‘Isnt it a little… tight?’

Hizashi just grinned and pushed it into their hands, edging them towards the changing room. “That’s the point! I promise you’ll look great, give it a shot!”

His sibling rolled their eyes a little but took the shirt and went to change, returning with a blush on their face and fiddling with the hem. ‘Its way too tight, I cant buy it.’

“Well no, silly, I’m buying it! Here, you keep it on, ill go pay and then we can eat lunch!” He didn’t give his sibling a moment to protest, disappearing to the counter and leaving them to gather their own shirt and grip it tightly. They looked around as they waited, eyes falling on someone, another worker, that they couldn’t seem to look away from. They looked so cute and already their face was flushed, turning away quickly before they could see. Hizashi returned quickly, stuffing a receipt in his pocket and smirking at his little siblings blush, following their nervous glances to the person who was making them so shy.

“Go say hi! You can give them a note on the back of this, don’t let them get away.” They quickly shook their head, pulling Hizashi out of the store and hoping they didn’t make too much of a scene, they were embarrassed enough as it was. Hizashi switched to sign language when he noticed his siblings nerves, walking slowly down the sidewalk to the cafe they always went to.

‘They were really cute! We should go back later and you can ask for their number!’

‘No way, I couldn’t just… do that.’

‘You totally could! The worst they could say is no!’

They didn’t respond, too embarrassed to sign, and Hizashi let it go for now, but his smile didn’t fade. When they got to the cafe Hizashi got in line and his sibling found their usual table, browsing their phone and considering their brother’s words. In truth, there really wasn’t much risk, it wasn’t as if they would attack them for asking or anything, but even the thought of going up to someone like that, much less someone so attractive, was nerve-wracking. Hizashi returned with two coffees and a plate of pastries, more than they could eat themselves, as usual. At first, they just sat quietly and sipped their drinks, the sugary scent of Hizashi’s filling the space. But it was clear the hero wasn’t just going to let their earlier conversation go, smiling as he set down his drink.

‘You know, they just might say yes!’

‘Then what? I don’t know anything about dating, won’t it be weird to go on a date with someone who probably cant sign?’

Hizashi took a massive bite of a scone and pulled out his phone, charms jingling as he waved it.

‘Thats what texting is for!’ They rolled their eyes and focused on their drink, ignoring anymore of Hizashi’s jabs until their cups were empty and the remaining pastries packed away.

‘I guess next time… maybe ill try to go up to them, or something.’

“Heck yeah!” Hizashi shouted, not meaning to, and immediately his sibling went red, trying to hide their face.

“Shit, sorry! Let’s go buy you another outfit, you’re going to need it for when you get that number!”
