We Need Representation
We need representation
We need representation so kid's eyes aren’t covered by parents who sense danger in two men holding hands
We need representation so women can kiss and not feel ashamed or sexualized
We need representation so bi and pan and omni and anyone with a heart so big it can’t love just one gender isn’t told to choose
We need representation so the people with multiple partners aren’t condemned for cheating
We need representation so kids don’t run up to people asking if they're a boy or a girl when in reality they are neither
We need representation so trans kids don’t grow up feeling dysphoric without the words to express themselves
We need representation so aro and ace kids don’t grow up thinking something in them is broken

Wait, is that not the line?
If you heard the song Jesse's Girl and thought the line was "I wish that I was Jesse's girl" and you didn't question that, you're probably queer now. Bonus points if you referred to the singer using she/her pronouns because of that interpretation.
Pride month is less than a week away?! Anyway, just reminding y’all that the A in LGBTQIA+ stands for Asexual, Aromantic, and Agender
Here's your reminder that:
Acespec people can call themselves asexual
Arospec people can call themselves aromantic
Aroacespec people can call themselves aroace
The words asexual, aromantic, and aroace, do not belong solely to those on one end of the spectrum. Demi, cupio, grey, lith, quoi, and all other aspecs are just as welcome under these words.
I saw a post that claimed only those without any form of romantic or sexual attraction could call themselves "gay/bi/etc. aroace" and that those on the spectrums somewhere have to use something else. Frankly, it's beyond ridiculous and aphobic to say so. Those on the spectrums are just as allowed to use the words that have always been granted to them within the community.
Do not let anyone tell you that the community you're in doesn't belong to you, or that you're less welcome here.
With the right attitude, anything can be platonic. /hj
not me doing mental gymnastics to turn every love song I listen to into a ballad about platonic love and friendship in my head like:
