Keep spreading positivity. Don't give up. Somewhere a door full of opportunities is waiting to be opened and it can only be opened through positivity. P.S. I am also in a few fandoms so there might be some fandom related stuff too.

Thinking about Kaz Brekker, who for all his harshness and violent reputation seems to make people's lives better wherever he goes. Inej would still be at the Menagerie if she'd still be alive at all. Jesper would have fallen in with a worse gang and gambled away everything he had. Wylan would have been eaten alive by the Barrel. Nina would still be trying to get Matthias out, probably eventually being killed in a pleasure house. Matthias would still be in prison and would have probably eventually been killed as well. This is not even to mention the other minor characters he seems to help in his own subtle way.
Part of the cruelty of Peka Rollins scam was giving the brothers the illusion of a home. But Kaz made the Slate one of the most hospitable places in the Barrel. A warm place where people can come and rest. Kaz was swindled by being tricked into investing in a fake business, but the Crow Club is a legitimate business that you could make some coin on (if you're not foolish enough to try and earn it by gambling there).
Not to mention if the Ice Court heist didn't happen then Kuwei would still be in the hands of the Fjerdans and there would have possibly been mass genocide.
Kaz has killed and hurt some, but many people owe their lives to Kaz Brekker
keefe: bad news- I locked the keys in the building
keefe : good news- we didn’t have to wait for a locksmith
keefe : bad news- Fitz finds it very disturbing that i know how to pick locks, and tried to unlock my tragic backstory. i was too embarrassed to tell him i learned because i figured that was the kind of skill to pick up cute girls
keefe : good news- a cute girl saw me do it
keefe : bad news- it was Sophie, and since she’s already seen me fall out of several trees, cry because i saw a fawn that was too small, and knows i can ride a unicycle, she’ll never think i’m cool no matter what i do. it’s too late. she knows
Fitz: *concerned noises*
if sophie and fitz lose the vital platonic connection/relationship they have i am GOING TO SUE GOD
To the person reading this, I hope tonight treats you gently, and that tomorrow looks brighter.
An Important Issue
Fitz does not have “anger issues,” and referring to him as having them, even if your intentions are good, is harmful!
“Anger issues” does not refer to getting angry sometimes
“Anger issues” are an actual medical condition that Fitz does not have
Saying he has them is at best invalidating to those that do, and that’s not even considering the amount of hate Fitz gets in the fandom, and the way using the term passes it onto the people who have the condition.
I understand that many of you are trying to draw him sympathy by using the term, but since he does not have them, it only worsens the situation.
This is a quote from SophitzMallowmelt on the wiki (who has since left the fandom):
I have actual anger issues and have as a result researched them very intensively and this is so insensitive and prejudiced! Fitz does not have anger issues. I have read these books many times, and not once did I think he had anger issues. Being diagnosed with anger issues requires you to have constantly gotten overly angry many times for reasons that don’t justify that level of anger. Fitz doesn’t at all fit this. He got angry in Exile, but that was when his father literally was in a coma and DYING. How would you feel if your parents were DYING? Not too good, huh? Anyways, no psychologist counts anger during a period of grieving as being unreasonably angry. Especially since Fitz just smashed some stuff and told Sophie to leave. That’s not unreasonable at all! And in Flashback? Alvar tortured Sophie! Believe me, Fitz could not get diagnosed with anger issues if he tried.
Fitz’s anger is also not atypical for hormonal teen boys. His progress throughout the series without treatment backs this idea up (that it is primarily hormonal and grief related). And that adds even another layer to consider—that saying Fitz has anger issues perpetuates the narrative of “people with mental illnesses can just force themselves to be better.”
If you must talk about Fitz’s anger, I recommend calling it simply that: anger. Or if you must, “coping through anger.”
Please note that I do not have anger issues. I am just doing my best to boost the voices of those that do. Educated correction is welcome.
