A reminder: if you were taught that mosquitoes in general are useless to the environment and could be eliminated “without consequence”, then you were taught incorrectly. People still regularly comment this silly notion on my posts with absolute confidence. Our goal is reducing risk to humans, NOT eliminating the dangerous animal altogether.
You don’t have to like irritating, gross, or dangerous animals (most people do not), but if you are ever arguing for the extinction of an entire animal species try to remember the natural world is unfathomably complex in ways none of us can predict.

My reaction to romance is a lot like my reaction to moths. I can admire it from afar and say ‘hey, that looks cool!’ but if it tries to come near me I start screaming and flapping my arms.
At least somebody’s dog enjoys them

hihi you started uni at 16?? woah that’s so cool!! how did you even do that??
anyway that’s not rlly the point of my ask. given the fact that you want to become an astrophysicist or quantum physicist (that’s so cool btw) I’m assuming you’re good at it, so do you have any tips for studying physics, getting good marks in phy exams etc? bc I’m in tenth grade rn and phy is my weakest subject

Hi! Honestly I just applied a year earlier than most (it's legal in my country, but uncommon), and I was lucky enough to get in! And my birthday just falls so that I'm one of the younger people in my year, although not the youngest.
I'm sorry about how long this answer took, I really wanted to take my time to give you a proper answer, so here is a few tips from my personal experience:
Practice Questions! I'm sure you hear this one a lot, but people really underestimate how different studying mathematical subjects is to most other ones. You can't just memories question types or make fun flashcards (although that's something you can do, you just cant do it on its own). You need to be practicing questions, whether its from textbooks, or ideally past papers. The main reason for this is you have to be able to sit and a look a question and figure out what to do with it. It's not always easy and clearcut and you will probably struggle a lot at first. It's important to be resilient and not let this discourage you, remember you learn the most from making mistakes. I promise you, the more you practice, the more you will be able to make those daunting first steps.
Prioritize your time. What I like to do is start with what topic as a whole I'm worst at (usually quantum physics), and look at all of the questions I can find on that. Then, if I think i can do a type of question correctly consistently, I'll maybe only do one of those, or skip entirely depending on time constraints. If I think I can do a type of question correctly, but only sometimes, I'll pick out 3-8 of those depending on the lengths, and work through them, making sure I understand why I'm doing everything. If I think i cannot do a type of question at all, I will read over the theory, watch some videos on it, and then practice questions until I think I can do it correctly at least sometimes.
Try to link different topics together. This is probably what I struggle the most with (bc it isn't always easy). If an equation is used in two separate topics, try to really think about why it works in both applications. This will help you understand what the equation really does and how you can apply it in your questions.
These are some pretty general pointers to help you get started (i hope its not too repetitive from what you've heard before, and i hope i can help at least someone out there!
may I request a pic of N and maybe Alder's volcarona?
Hope this helps with your art block!!

Boy of misguided ideals, do not make an enemy of me

My three girlfriends. And yes, they smoke weed.
people who don't wear glasses are so weird like you just wake up and your eyes are pussy fresh??
Thinkin about the POTS episode I had at a weed shop once like 5 years ago (well before I knew i had it. I thought i was just dehydrated) in which I passed out in the arms of the cute desk clerk who actually happened to also be an EMT and he knew I was passing out well before I did.
I remember sweating and being embarrassed because of how bad I was struggling to get my sweater off, couldn't stand straight, I was slurring my words and not fully understanding him. Last thing I remember was him deadass leaping over the desk after asking me if I needed to sit down (really hot of him). I'm quite sure he caught me because when I fall I definitely feel it later
It's a super humiliating disability to have but he definitely knew how to make it easier and feel less awful. I was halfway through my sweater when I went down but it was folded next to me and he was holding a cup of water for me until I came to. He was really wholesome and just left the desk and sat with me, tried to make me feel normal about it and distract me from people's wandering eyes and was just really chill. I don't think I was out for more than a few seconds but I definitely would've eaten shit if anyone else was helping me check out. Most people would not in fact jump over the counter to make sure a guy they don't know didn't crack his head open. But he's probably seen horrible things happen to people who didn't have someone there to catch them
I hope he's doing well, I was way too out of it to remember his name but I remember him being really chill and funny, being lighthearted about it to cheer me up. I'd smoke a bowl with him idk. He seemed like such a genuinely good person, didn't go back to his shift until he was sure I'd be okay and even then told me to take my time and call him over if I needed anything (dispensaries are often very particular making sure you're in and out and control the amount of people in there at once). Told me how I should breathe, how I should sit, and it's stuff I do when I have POTS episodes to this day

til that the "Cara Mia Addio" in Portal 2 (better known as the "Turret Opera"), when translated, is a full on love song in which Glados refers to Chell as "beautiful" and "dear" throughout, with Ellen Mclain saying in an interview afterwards that the song is meant to essentially be taken as "I'm going to miss you, goodbye, my beloved"
I like to think then that Cara Mia Addio was a song created by Glados in a foreign language that Chell wouldn't understand so that way she could tell her how much she meant/means to her without being too direct because she's scared of attachment
In conclusion, happy pride month to whatever the fuck they had going on

i honestly didn´t even realize this tweet was made to critique this woman i thought it was made to show us how badass this woman is
🐬Daily Cetacean Fact:🐬
Heaviside's Dolphin: As is the case with all species in the genus, Heaviside's dolphins produce narrow-band high-frequency (NBHF) echolocation clicks (centered around 125–130 kHz), and do not whistle. This adaptation is theorized to allow acoustic crypsis from eavesdropping predators, as the sounds produced are outside of the detectable frequencies of killer whales. Although NBHF clicks are limited in acoustic range, they have a better resolution for small targets and are thought to provide a foraging advantage in the often cluttered, nearshore environment in which these species occur.

No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it’s still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world.
You’re still alive.
DO NOT sleep during the day. Youll be like What the hell later

helen “trans people are perpetuating gender steriotypes” joyce is now upset that the scientific american is writing about how women were hunters too back in the day, not just mothers and caretakers. feminist win!
