im just going to be showing you this since im in a wip, i feel like this is the best rendition of ship phantom gonzalo ive ever drawn (gave up on the clothes physics). im not going to be giving them a traditional japanese folklore look to the youkai you assigned to the characters, but more likely in a humanely manner of what the touhou project series influenced me to do with the designs.

Ooooo it’s a lovely drawing! Touhou is alot more flexible with what they consider “Yokai” (some of their yokai are completely made up like “Gap Yokai” or “Darkness Yokai”!), it’s kind lf Mahou Shoujou’y the way they treat their yokais’ typings. But anyways, your Funayurei!Gonzalo looks very cute ^^! I like the anchor earings, long-back poncho and cropped over-shirt, it’s abit modern for an old yokai but I think it works. The chains coming out his back is a really cool concept!!! Are they trapping him under sea or is he using them trap you? Who knows…

Do you think Dolly does her own sewing or does she get Alex to help with that… Or maybe she taught him how to… Idk, I’m thinking of them hanging out and then Dolly accidentally rips her fabric then Alex is like, “Oh no!” and sews her back up at the speed of light and Dolly is perplxed as to why he’s so good at sewing. Or maybe he’s like, “Oh no!” and then just paces around looking for a tin cookie box filled with sewing tools. But then when he tries to do it, the stitching is very ugly and he feels bad but Dolly appreciates it nonetheless.

I think that dolly decently taught alex how to sew... but that is such a cute idea I think both are probably possible..

I love the idea of the stitches being like horrible but she keeps them that way cause it reminds her that alex did it and it's apart of her now.... idk does that make sense at all

anyway but it's a really cute idea I'm taking this and putting it in my pocket.. maybe I'll draw it later
