Shinso X Reader: Scented Candles

Shinso x Reader: Scented Candles

Summary: While you were enjoying Shinso's company in your dorm room, the power cuts off. Inspired by the romantic lighting of your emergency candles, Shinso proposed the idea that the two of you should slow dance. He convinces you to sing for him while he holds you close in the aroma of your scented candles.

A/N: I'm so sorry for the wait recently, I am working on a request too at the moment even though life has been keeping me plenty busy.

Time was forgotten as the darkness beyond your curtains drawn closed over your dorm window had long settled in. The low humming of conversation on the tv on the wall opposing the end of your bed was the only sound you could hear besides your boyfriends slow breathing next to you.

The even rhythm of Hitoshi’s chest leaning against your slouched form showed that he was long drifting off to sleep. You didn’t blame him, however, as the trashy movie you had put on for steady background noise had almost bore you to sleep too. Not only that, but the training he was undertaking with Aizawa to fulfill his dream of joining the Hero Course was tiring him out. You were incredibly proud of his progress, but the last thing you wanted was for him to burn himself out.

You didn’t pay attention to the movie anymore, scrolling through your phone while you rother hand threated its fingers into Shinso’s lilac hair. His cheek rested on your shoulder, one arms resting over your midriff. The lamp by your beside emitted just enough light for your eyes to trace his features whenever his breath would slightly hinder.

Suddenly, the lamp shut off. The television’s light and the awful dialogue seized with a small click. Your body jolted upright at the abrupt silence that fell over your room.

Hitoshi’s eyes quickly opened at your sudden movement, straightening his back. You immediately felt bad, switching on the torch setting on your phone.

“Sorry, Toshi,” you turned the torch to the ceiling as to not accidentally shine it in his eyes.

“It’s fine, kitten,” Hitoshi’s voice rasped, his hands rubbing his eyes slowly.

“I think the power went out,” you stated the obvious, taking into account the sky outside was clear, “But there’s no storm outside.”

“Denki probably sneezed on a power socket, or something,” Hitoshi mused, squeezing you close so he could press a kiss onto your hairline. “Don’t stress.”

“I’m not stressed,” you poked him in the chest, “but we should probably light some candles, because I think my phone is about to die.”

Turning your phone over, you turned it on so that you could read the battery percentage. A small number 3 sat next to the small battery symbol in the corner, confirming your suspicion.

“Looks like we’re going back to sleep then, kitten,” Hitoshi smirked, sinking down into the duvet.

He adjusted one of your pillows so that it rested at a comfortable angle. His arms wrapped around your torso, dragging you down the bed. Your legs slipped further into the warm blankets as Hitoshi attempted to wrap you up in the duvet. Thrashing your arms around, you urged to wriggle back up to sit.

A few months ago, you would have stood a fighting chance to get your way whenever Hitoshi tried to use force to get you to cuddle. Mr Aizawa’s training had certainly enhanced his strength, making your playful wrestles feel like a sparing match.

“No!” You laughed, attempting to pry his fingers from your hips, “I don’t want to sleep yet! I want to light some candles!”

Hitoshi smirked, “Look at you… you’re struggling to stop me when I’m really tired… Have you been skipping training again?”

“I don’t skip training!” You stopped wriggling for a moment, turning to look into Hitoshi’s half-lidded eyes. “You’ve just been training harder than me, and I’m proud.”

“Don’t try to flatter me,” Hitoshi growled, “I’m still winning.”

He smirked, when you wriggled backwards out of his hold. His arm lifted off you, allowing for you to slide off your bed. You crossed the floor to a cabinet, unaware of Hitoshi’s adoring gaze falling after your figure.

Blindly rummaging through a draw, you found a small collection of scented candles, some you gifted to yourself, others from Hitoshi. Fumbling in the dark with the marches, you struct it, a small spark alighting the head. You quickly hovered the match over the candles’ wicks, lighting them all. A row of orange light bounced over the walls and ceiling as the torch from your phone turned off.

The amber glow relaxed you, your eyes drifting over to Hitoshi still lounging on your bed. His lilac eyes bore into you, an adoring smirk wrinkling the corner of his soft, kissable lips.

Slightly embarrassed by the lingering gaze, you turned your back towards him. Have expecting him to drift off to sleep once again, you began to rearrange your candles so they lined up perfectly across your cabinet. The mixed senses of pinewood, vanilla and lavender wafted into your nose in swirls with the smoke.

Fingers dancing around the small of your waist took you by surprise, Hitoshi’s hands clasping together across your stomach. Hot air tickled the back of your neck.

“The atmosphere is suddenly a lot more romantic, would you say so, kitten?”

Hitoshi’s silky voice and accusation made you blush, spinning around in his arms to face him. The way his half-lidded eyes trailed your face while resting his hands on your hips caused your stomach to do backflips. There was something about being this close to him that had this effect on you, no matter how long you had been together.

“It is, yeah,” you sighed, adjusting your hands that you had swung around his neck.

“Perfect for slow dancing,” Hitoshi rubbed his nose across yours softly.

You laughed at him, “Since when were you into dancing?”

“I’m not, but wouldn’t it be fun to try?”

You pursed your lips, fully aware of the way he had manipulated your movements so you were now slowly swaying to an unknown rhythm.

        “We don’t have any music.”

        “Sing for me.”

        “No, it’s embarrassing.”

“Please, kitty? Your voice is beautiful.”

“You only heard me that one time you accidentally walked in on me showering.”

        “And you sounded lovely.”

“Bathroom acoustics are always so much better, though.”

“Baby, please? You’d sound beautiful wherever you are.”

At this point he was basically begging. You almost felt bad for having to deny him for so long, especially when his lip slightly pouted out at his last sentence.

“Fine… but you owe me another scented candle,” you bargained, smiling as he laughed before scoffing at you.

        “You’re so weird.”

Rolling your eyes, you didn’t protest, mentally hyping yourself up for your small performance. Clearing your throat, you avoided Hitoshi’s eyes as you fell into the first note.

“Put your head on my shoulder Hold me in your arms, baby Squeeze me oh-so-tight Show me that you love me too

Put your lips next to mine, dear Won't you kiss me once, baby? Just a kiss goodnight, maybe  You and I will fall in love”

Hitoshi led your bodies in an uncoordinated waltz, giggling whenever he dipped you. His sudden movements would leave you shocked, having to replenish your voice in order to continue the song.

Even with the cracks in your voice or when you forgot the lyric and had to repeat the line, the way you held each other if the sweet perfumes of your scented candles couldn’t be more perfect.

Levi x Reader: “What If’s” And “But’s”

Summary: You had arrived early from a journey outside the walls to your boyfriend. Instead of returning after bringing the report back to Erwin, you stayed with Levi for a lovely day out together. However, your day of tea and soft touches began to stress you out.

Rating: SFW

Genre: Fluff, fluff, more fluff

A/N: I wrote this a while ago... and as you can tell comfort fluff/angst is a major theme of this blog

Levi X Reader: What Ifs And Buts

The silkiness of the sheets over your body kept the hard found warmth in. Laying on your side, you rested your hand on the pillow by your head that sunk into the cushioned surface. Your knotty hair was loosely pulled back into a fishtail braid, the loose strands falling helplessly around your tired eyes. A warm body was flushed against your back; a strong arm lazily draped across your middle. Your other hand held his, soft fingers grazing gently over his calloused knuckles.

The lit candle on the bedside provided too much light causing slight discomfort, so you wiggled under the strength of the arm. You rolled over to face Levi’s tired steel eyes. His raven hair, usually in a centre part, was in a mess. However, it still seemed to frame his handsome face perfectly. His strong arm still stayed wrapped around your torso as you brought your hand slowly to rest on his injured leg.

He winced slightly at contact and groaned out, “What are you doing, brat?”

Feeling guilty, you relieved a bit of pressure on his leg and began to run your fingers up and down the sore muscles.

“Sorry,” you whispered, “Does it really hurt that much still? Maybe I should look at it again.”

“I’m fine,” Levi groaned, digging his face into the crevice of your neck.

You let a soft smile take over your face at his soft side he only shows to you. His bored words translated to kindness.

Pressing a soft kiss to his hairline, you mumbled into his hair; “I know you may think so, but I’ll do anything to make sure you’re okay, Levi.”

Levi slowly shut his gunmetal orbs, pulling you closer to him. His breath down your chest tickled as you slowly closed your tired e/c eyes. As soon as you let darkness flood your vision, you wrapped an arm around the sleepy figure in front of you. Levi was always so tired. You had never shared a bed with him, this being the first time. This felt like the best way to finish off the day you spent just with each other. A smile tugged at your lips when the promise ring around your finger came to mind.

However, a not so happy thought intruded. You couldn’t help but shake the feeling that something horrible was happening out in Wall Rose. Abandoning the others just to come back to Levi felt so selfish now that you were under the comfort of a roof and snuggled in a warm double bed. Someone had to deliver Hange’s message, right?

But what if Sasha, Connie and Jean had gotten into trouble?

What if Eren couldn’t turn into a titan when they needed him the most?

What if something happened to Hange and Commander Erwin?

A million “what if”s filled your head, making your heart pound increasingly fast. You couldn’t take the weight of these horrible thoughts as you shot up in the bed and stared at the wall blankly.

Shifting beside you turned your attention to Levi rolling over. He flung his forearm over to rest on his closed eyelids. You sighed in relief at the thought of not waking him, even with the sharpness of your movements. He must be so tired, You thought to yourself with a small smile.

“What’s wrong, Y/N?” Levi grumbled quietly.

Your eyes shot open further. You were wrong. You had woken him.

“Uh, nothing.” You shifted to lean against the bed board. “I just thought I was taking up too much blanket.”

To this, Levi removed his arm from his eyes and opened the beautiful spheres. He side-eyed you, making you avert your gaze. Pushing himself up, he tried his hardest to not hurt his injured leg. You couldn’t help but notice his awkward movements. To give yourself something to draw your attention away from him, you brought your knees up to rest your chin on them in attempt to create a ball of warmth. Once Levi was leaning against the bed board also, he gently took your chin in his thumb and index finger to face you towards him.

“Cut the crap, princess,” his voice still held the same amount of sass and monotone as ever, “The blanket is mainly on my half. There is something on your mind and don’t try to lie to me.”

You quickly flickered your eyes over every bit of his stern but soft face. Easily swayed, you let your legs slide down the mattress and your head hit the bed board.

“Okay, fine. I was just having a bit of a moment worrying over every possible bad thing that could happen to the others. I regret leaving them. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed our little day together so much but what if they needed me? What if I should have returned just so they know nothing happened to me? What if they’re worried about me right now?”

You ended up throwing your arms around in exclamation as our breathing picked up once again. Sensing you were about to have another round of questions spilling from your mouth in seconds, Levi immediately caught your wrists and brought them down.

He slipped his calloused hands in your own and hushed you, “Stop with the “what if”s. You’re just freaking yourself out. Nothing is wrong, okay? Brat, you are just being stupid.”

You shook you head urgently, “But-”

“No “but”s either,” Levi cut you off, “You need to think of something else and just go to sleep. I’m not letting you back out there without me. If anything is happening, at least it’s not happening to you. Go back to sleep.”

You nodded, Levi sliding down the bed and dragging you down with him. Avoiding his injury, you carefully lay across his chest. Head tucked into the crevice of his neck, you let the soothing rhythm of his heartbeat lull you back to back to sleep. Levi’s arms held you securely as he drew small circles into your exposed skin. With a kiss to your forehead, he finally fell asleep too.

Hello there! It’s so nice to see a blog still open to requests & can portray Levi so accurately!! I was wondering if I could request a one-shot with Levi Ackerman? Hurt comfort genre? Vague idea but Levi can see reader has been down, quietly makes them a cup of tea, sits down with them and just talks quietly? I don’t know about what. But it’s obviously he really cares about them? And they just really needed someone to sit with them in that moment? They needed a grounding point? You don’t have to

A/N: Hi!! Thank you so much for requesting and thinking I portrayed him accurately 🥺 You’re so so sweet 💕 Writing this was no problem at all!! I am still new to this so don’t be shy to give me any feedback!

Slight trigger for suicidal thoughts

image

Recently, the daunting reality you lived in had finally caught up to your dreams of saving humanity. The idea was all well and good, you knew that, but was it possible? Each mission you spent exploring and “conquering” put you in the danger of being eaten, smashed against a tree, squished, squashed, ripped in half, decapitated— The list goes on and on and on and on and on…

Titans were out there and they were real. You were the first line of defence. You were the hope for humanity. You were the ones risking your lives and no one even knew your name except for when it gets craved onto a gravestone.

You could die any time you stepped out of the walls.

Why did you want to be a hero? For the praise? For the nobility? For the feeling of finally being safe?

Putting the benefits beside the stakes made you think nothing was worth it.

You didn’t think it was necessary when we were all going to die anyways.

           Humanity wasn’t worth saving.

The only thing that made it sort of worth fighting for was your captain. Levi Ackerman. He intrigued you, but it wasn’t like you needed to save him when he could look after himself perfectly fine. Those around him… not so much. Not that you blamed him, but your captain had lost so many people he cared about but he still fought.

           But why?

           How?

How could he find the strength to keep going?

           What was his grounding point?

You really wanted to ask him, but you were scared that the question would be insensitive. Or, he’d “tch” at you and walk away with a roll of his eyes.

The fleeting thoughts you had had turned into days of spacing out, and one day it just became too much to handle.

Your face remained downcast as you sat at the dining hall. You hadn’t bothered to grab anything to eat, your appetite failing you. Claiming you weren’t hungry, you would have preferred to go to your room and sleep – or at least try. However, Hanji had insisted you had to be social for the night after a whole day of training. Your aching muscles from said training should have been a good enough excuse.

Obviously, you couldn’t escape how hard no matter how hard you could have tried. Hanji was incredibly supportive, kind, intelligent, but she was a little bit too excitable after spending a whole day in a lab instead of expelling her energy. Not that she could ever run out of it, anyway.

In times like this, you wished she could spare you some of that energy.

But there you sat, silently staring into space as you zoned out of whatever conversation Hanji was engaged in with Mike. The other cadets and Survey Corp soldiers chattered much louder than Hanji, if that was possible, and the voices echoed in your ears. Ringing replaced them, flashes of blood appeared across your vision and everything went black.

You were still conscious, but nothing computed or was comprehended. Your fuzzy brain detached from reality, searching for the light.

           Where was it?

           You desperately wanted to go.

But you became dissatisfied when you were pulled back into reality.

“Hey, brat,” Levi’s voice broke through the darkness, your head snapping towards him on a diagonal across the table. “You look like you’re going to be sick. Throw up somewhere else.”

Expression unwavering, you took it as your opportunity to escape, “Yeah, good idea.”

“Hm.” Levi picked up his teacup in his peculiar way and took a sip.

Legs shaking, you stood up, the chair screeching on the ground and caused your skin to crawl. Ignoring Hange’s shouts of questioning, you edged to the door of the dining hall. You turned in the direction of your dorm, missing the slight crease that appeared between Levi’s thin eyebrows as he watched after you.

Keeping your eyes forward, you stumbled through the hall. You took the familiar turns towards your dorm, the incessant ringing in your ears finally starting to ease as the noise of the cadets faded.

Shakily, you swung the door open when you reached the dorm. Shutting it quickly behind you, you flopped onto your bed. Face down on the pillow, you shook as tiny sobs racked from your throat. A few salty tears seeped into your pillowcase. Letting your mind finally take over, you quickly cried yourself to sleep.

You were awoken abruptly the next morning by someone knocking twice on your door. Sitting up slowly, you noticed that the sun only just peaked through the trees beyond the window above your bed.

“Come in,” you wheezed, thinking it would be Hanji.

However, your heart stopped when Levi opened the door just enough for him to slip into your room accompanied by a tray. Desperately finger-combing your dishevelled hair and rubbing your eyes, you addressed him.

“I’m sorry, Captain. I’m late for training or cleaning, right? I’ll get going right now—”

You went to swing your legs off your bed, but Levi cut you off by huffing.

“Tch, no, brat—” he shut the door behind him with his foot— “Did you seriously sleep with your boots on? You look terrible, too. Did you not shower either?”

Dumbfounded, you stuttered to reply to him, “I—I didn’t get the chance to do either of those things… I kind of fell asleep before I could.”

“And you slept on an empty stomach?”

           “Yes, I but—”

           “Tch, I brought you this.”

Levi presented the tray to you. A cup of steaming tea sat next to a plate with freshly prepared oatmeal right next to it. Your stomach immediately growled at the sight, causing you to reach out towards it.

“Thank you, Captain,” you took the tray from Levi’s hands.

He folded his arms and rolled his eyes, “No need for that title; we’re behind closed doors.”

           “Oh…”

His statement made you slightly flustered as you spooned some oatmeal and placed it in your mouth. Your insides warmed up with the comforting food. As you continued to eat, you felt slightly awkward as Levi stood watching.

Was he going to say something?

You flickered your eyes up to meet his shiny grey orbs, catching a glint of confliction in his eyes.

Was it that he didn’t know what to say?

You were about to comment, but Levi finally spoke up again. His words stopped your heart from embarrassment.

“You’re sad,” Levi stared firmly into your eyes, “I saw you were uncomfortable in the hall and gave you an excuse to leave. I was going to follow but I saw how tired you seemed and thought you just needed to sleep. But I know it’s more than that, right?”

Jaw dropping slightly, you struggled to reply, “I… don’t know what you mean…”

You could feel your emotions bubbling up again, a lump forming in your throat that you desperately tried to swallow with a mouthful of tea.

Levi’s next move almost seemed out of character for him. He stooped down to his knees, looking up at you from a different angle. If you weren’t feeling so conflicted with emotions and anxieties, you would have made a comment about how he should be scared of dirtying his white pants on the dusty floor.

“You’re lying, woman,” Levi’s words were still firm despite his more vulnerable position, as if he was trying to say that you were above him, “The normal you wouldn’t give me such a lame answer. Now would you tell me what’s wrong so you can just be you again.”

His words took you by pleasant surprise, but the many mixed emotions you had been feeling came out all at once in the worst way. You failed to keep that lump in your throat down, a sob breaking up your rapid breathing. Tears flooded from your e/c eyes, your hands rushing to shield them from Levi’s wavering gaze. Your sudden mood swing caused him to panic slightly.

“Hey, stop that,” he hushed you, unsure of what else to say, “Tell me. Get it out.”

Unsure what to do, Levi got off his knees and took a seat next to you on the bed. The mattress sank, causing you to shift towards him. You bumped into him, immediately shrinking back.

“I’m sorry, Levi, I—I just don’t know what to do anymore,” your words broke up your sobs unevenly.

“Don’t apologise,” Levi hesitantly took the tray from your lap, placing it on the floor.

You cried hysterically with Levi next to you, unsure of what he should do to comfort you. In your heart, you wished that he would wrap his arms around you and tell you the best thing for you to hear in the moment. In your head, you were almost unsure if he could do it.

“Damn…” Levi mumbled, “I wish I was better at this sort of thing. What do you want me to do, Y/N?”

“I need you to be with me, Levi,” you cried out to him, “I want you to be with me so we can protect each other. This world is so— no, so messed up and I don’t think it’s worth saving. How do you stay so calm and don’t break down all the time? How do you do it? Levi, I just want you to be my grounding point—”

Your words were cut short by the wind getting knocked from your lungs. Strong but inexperienced arms squeezed you, obviously not knowing the comfortable pressure for hugs. The tears that had once gushed from your eyes had seized, letting only one slip down your cheek and onto Levi’s Survey Corp jacket. The jacket that showed that he witnessed death every day.

“I bottle it up,” Levi spoke softly, “but don’t ever do that, Y/N. You let it out when you need to and cry. Crying feels so damn good whenever you feel this way.”

All you could do is nod, slowly snaking your arms around his form. His heartbeat against your chest beat just as fast as yours did; they were in sink. Levi knew what to say to you, no matter how good he thought he was at comfort. You could tell from his words that he spoke from experience, and you trusted him.

He didn’t push you to say any more than what you had already said, taking the time to bring you back to the present. The warmth of his body against yours and the strangely comforting thought that he still didn’t know what he was doing soothed you. Even though he wasn’t confident in his abilities, how he continued to hold you proved to you how much you truly cared to give it a try.

Slowly, he pulled you out of your intruding images, memories, and emotions. The unfamiliar radiance of relief and love filled you, swelling your heart and causing you to pull back to look at Levi.

His brilliant grey eyes flickered with a silver you never noticed until you were this close. No words were exchanged between each other, only his thumb that rubbed over your cheek to rub the tear tracks off your skin.

“Thank you, Levi,” you whispered, digging your face into the collar of his jacket. You could almost feel the way he rolled his eyes and smiled.

“A bath would also do you good, you’re filthy.”

You laughed into his neck, confidence and comfort along you to say the four words you have wanted to say for a while now.

           “I love you, Levi.”

However, nothing could have prepared you for when he said it back.

           “I… I love you too.”
