Headcanon that wukong is specifically gentle and kind towards kids and animals,

You can see him screaming at some random demon and then turn to comfort a little child, even in jttw whenever he spotted a kid scared that wasn't a demon in disguise he would just comfort the kid.

he's especially good with baby monkeys and horses, can handle both very well, and the animals and kids seems to love this monkey because they see a complete different person, they don't see this killing machine with no mercy, no they see a kind monkey whose just trying to help.

kids were especially the first ones who started claiming wukong as a hero,

Before wukong became a hero, the ones who got the spotlights were always his other brothers and Tripitaka since wukong didn't need fame, he was just there as a help for the real heroes.

When the others members of the journey to the west sadly passed, even more people along with kids started seeing monkey king as a hero, slowly earning his title as hero or legend.

They have nightmares from time to time about what happened and frankly all the near-death experiences that he's had, and if he wakes up frightened he always texts or calls you if you're up as well.

If you two are sharing a bed he probably sits there and plays with your hair a bit to soothe himself(if you give him the ok to wake you up then he will and then you can play with their hair as well!!)

He forgets special occasions sometimes but he always makes up for it as soon as he realizes!! But it's hard to be upset at them anyways

I'm tired so here's my Sleeping Headcanons for the monkey trio

MK almost always sleeps in a starfish position. They start out in a fetal position, probably with a pillow or stuffed animal in his arms, but by the time they wake up everything's all spread out. No proper pajamas, just old tshirts and shorts/sweatpants. He needs it to be quiet, they can't stand white noise or anything. Has LED lights that slowly transition between colors throughout the night. Pretty heavy sleeper, but a loud enough noise from anywhere nearby will easily wake them up.

SUN WUKONG never sleeps alone. Multiple monkeys pile themselves on or around him. No blankets, though—at most, his cape, but nothing beyond that. He likes ambient noise(wind, rain, whatever). Probably only wears pants to bed? And he refuses to even consider going to sleep until he’s checked the perimeters of the mountain to make sure there’s nothing out of place. His mattress is on the floor, with sheets on it and nothing else. If he’s anxious or something he sleeps in the trees with other monkeys. Sleeps pretty heavy, and doesn’t get up before noon unless he has to. MACAQUE has no sense of sleep schedule. He’s usually alone, though he hates it. He refuses to sleep with his back exposed OR with his back to the door. He sleeps in the clothes he wears during the day unless he’s staying at someone’s place. He probably falls asleep sitting, but wakes up snuggled into his cape and more on the bed than before. No noise for him, since he’s not only a really light sleeper, but also because his hearing is sensitive. Sleeps more during the day so he can scout things out at night, however it’s not uncommon for him to be awake for more than 24 hours at a time.

Could I request some Mk TLC? Mk x F!s/o who's soft spoken and caring, like she does everything in her power to be a safespace and help Mk de-stress and relax (EG. Mk:*desperately trying to reassure her that 'he's fine' despite being completely disheveled and look dead on his feet* / S/o:*Who's already made tea and mooncakes and now is gently pushing him into a chair* I'm sure you are sweetheart~ but take 5 for a moment ok <3 ) Sorry if this is wordy.

I prefer the wordy asks if I I’m honest! I get a better understanding of where you want the story to go and it makes my brain shut up about getting it wrong lmao. Anyways this is adorable and I love this idea

Tender Love and Care(one shot)(497 words)

MK(he/they)x Fem!Reader(she/her)

There wasn’t a lot that MK wouldn’t do for Y/N. She knew this extremely well, considering that he was the hero of the city. Despite wielding powers that she could only dream of, he thought that she was the one that was out of their league. It was a constant flustering battle as to how much the two would boost each other’s confidence. 

Lately she found herself alone more often. MK was never without some task to carry out. Delivering noodles, training with Monkey King, generally running errands…it took up a lot of their schedule. He always came home late, barely making it under their shared covers before passing out. When the morning came, he was gone before she even woke up. It was becoming too common and she could tell by how they sighed after shutting the door that it was getting to him. 

So, what’s a woman to do? 

Well, she convinced Mr. Tang to convince Pigsy to let MK have a few days off. She insisted on going with MK to see Monkey King so she could pull the sage aside and tell him that she was going to put her boyfriend on house arrest. Thank goodness he was on her side, saying that he’d noticed MK struggling a bit.

So that night, when MK got home, she was waiting for him. She had prepared some egg fried rice so he could consume something besides noodles before going to bed. They did appreciate the meal, but he was saying how he was just going to go to bed the whole time.

“Y/N, I’m fine. Look, if I was really exhausted, would I be able to do this?” They held still, with their arms out. She stood back, thinking he would try to do some monkey magic. But nothing happened.

“Are you trying to get your staff or something?” Y/N asked.

“I’m trying to do a cartwheel. Am I not doing it?”

“No…”

“Oh.”

She got them into the bathroom and took a quality shower, and after, he relaxed a bit more as she helped them dry his hair. The whole time she was doing so, they kept almost falling asleep.

“That was nice, but we gotta sleep so I can go to work tomorrow…” They yawned.

“You don’t have work tomorrow. Or training. It’s just gonna be us.”

He turned around so fast that his neck cracked. But she stared them down, explaining that there was no way he’d be able to keep up with anything if he was tired. He pouted, still wanting to protest, but the way she looked at him with such genuine worry and determination to make them feel okay made that line of thought dissolve. 

The pair made their way to the bedroom and got comfortable under the covers, with his head nestled in the crook of her neck and one of your hands running through his hair. 

“Thank you, Y/N…” 

“Anything for you, MK.”

this has been on my mind all night, SO here the deal. Mei has been dating the reader for a while now but the thing is since Mei is a dragon descendant, why not make the reader be a phoenix. With wings and I read somewhere that phoenix are always seen together with a dragon in many myth. I just think that would be romantic af. It can be a scenario or oneshot if you want.

You and Mei weren't the type of couple to get into fights. With each other, I mean. With demons that try to rob your awesome dragon girlfriend of her sick sword? Absolutely!

"You really wanna take the back alleys to get back from the movies tonight? You're nuts." You walked alongside Mei, holding one of her hands and swinging it as you moved along. She laughed, putting her phone in her pocket.

"We'll be fine! And hey, if anything goes wrong, we've got Old Reliable!"

"You named the sword?"

"I mean...I could name my sword! Anyways, what street are we on now?"

She looked around, presumably for landmarks. The area you two were in now was dank, and reeked of cigarette smoke and trash. Truthfully, you had no idea why she wouldn't just get her motorcycle.

"We aren't lost, right?"

"Of course not. Once I know where we are, it'll be smooth sailing," she paused, looking behind her. "Did you hear that?"

You listened for a minute. There it was--whispering, along with muffled footsteps. You looked her in the eyes.

"What should we do?" you whispered at her, not trying to attract any attention.

"SHOW YOURSELVES, COWARDS! WE AREN'T AFRAID OF YOU!" She yelled. Your eyes darted around the space, trying to see movement even though it was dark.

"Not afraid, huh? We can deal with that." a gruff voice approached. behind it came the sound of heavy boots. The figures stepped into what little light there was and revealed themselves. One of them, shorter than the other, had horns that curled around its head similar to a ram. It was wearing a leather jacket with spikes on it. The taller one, a woman, had dark eyes and a knife in her hands. You held onto the sleeve of Mei's jacket in a panic.

"We're not looking for trouble." You said, trying to urge your girlfriend to agree. However, she stood her ground.

"But if trouble comes looking for us..." she brandished her blade. The demons looked at each other, then at the sword.

"Listen, princess, just hand over that sword of yours, and no one gets hurt." the woman got into a defensive stance, with the other demon following suit. If Mei was going to fight, you might as well back her up. You dropped the glamour that made you look human to reveal your scarlet and orange feathers that lined your arms, face, and legs. Burning hot with the fire in your veins.

"Uh...did we prepare for that part?"

"maybe not."

But they ran at you two anyways, and while the woman tried to bring a knife to a sword fight, you took to trying to punch the other one as hard as you could. It blocked your blows surprisingly well, however its aim in trying to hit you was far from good. It tried to grab your arms, however recoiled with a yelp when it felt how hot you were. Taking advantage of this moment, you pressed both your arms to its side. It doubled over in pain, and you then knocked it out with your fists.

In the meantime, Mei was fighting and winning against the woman and her knife. In the light, you could see that there was something on the knife, some kind of liquid. It was almost glow in the dark.

"Mei! There's something on the knife!" You ran at the woman from the side. tackling her, she tried to cut you.

"What is it?!" Mei asked, pulling you toward her as the woman nearly sliced your arm.

"I don't know, but I think we should get out of here!" You stumbled to start running while the woman was still down. Mei followed behind you, and there was a chase as you weaved through the maze of the city. Finally, you came to a dead end. Turning around, you set yourself aflame and leapt in front of your girlfriend to catch the woman.

This demon woman wasn't exactly weak. She struggled in your grip immensely until Mei unleashed her dragon as she helped you to fling her off into the sky. You both watched her disappear and caught your breaths.

"That was the most exciting movie date we've ever been on!" she cheered, hugging you and giving you a kiss on the cheek. You blushed, returning to your human form. Thank goodness you two were fireproof.

"That's one way to put it."
