Honestly One Of The Most Painful And Most Beautiful Things Ive Experienced Has Been Growing Up To View
Honestly one of the most painful and most beautiful things I’ve experienced has been growing up to view my idolized creators/books/movies/tv shows with more criticism. Like it’s so so painful to have someone you used to look up to be so transphobic. It’s so painful to see a tv show that you used to love so much being so homophobic.
And to sit here and realize. They’ve always been like that. Just because we’re grown up enough now to actually see it and call it out doesn’t mean that they used to be any better.
But for us as consumers of that content, it shows so much growth for us to be able to look at these shows and books and movies and say “it’s okay for me to still enjoy this content. But this thing you did, you said, you believe, is really fucked up and I don’t support you anymore”
And then to take this content, these worlds and characters that we love so much, and make it our own, with headcanons and fanfictions, with fanart and aus. To take back the pain that was inflicted upon us and make it right for ourselves and for others.
And throughout our own headcanons, still continuing to call out popular creators (authors, directors, actors, musicians, artists) and to hold them accountable.
It’s been an incredible transition to witness and experience.

Ok but remember that black & indigenous voters gave you this election. The most surpressed voices showed up to be the loudest.
Be grateful and remember those communities as we fight for reforms down the line. We've got a fucking debt to pay.

Maybe Chris Pratt isn’t “overtly political” but what people need to realize is that politics and human rights are inextricably tied together. So when you say he isn’t political, you’re really saying that he doesn’t care enough to fight for the rights of marginalized communities.
Quick note: I don’t think we should be “canceling” any of these men because cancel culture is fucking toxic, but we still need to call them out on their bs. What really makes me upset is the fact that mcu cast members who are actually facing racism and sexism are attacked and mocked on a daily basis, and none of these white men with huge fanbases have said jack shit.
Mcu peter parker said that if you can do the things he can do and then the bad things happen, it’s your fault. I believe the same idea applies here. When you have these bases of people to influence and then they attack women and poc simply for existing, and you don’t stick up for them at all, that stuff is (in part) your fault.
It is absolutely okay to criticise Zoe Saldana for supporting Chris Pratt after what he did, but it is fucking appalling to use racial slurs against her because she’s supporting him. Just because a POC does something wrong or shitty does not give you the excuse to start throwing around racial slurs - nothing does. Fuck Chris Pratt, but fuck your racist asses too.

Hey guys! I’ve taken a break from art lately but I am back with this commission for @leopoldjamesfitzs, who asked for a FS forehead kiss, so I went wild and came up with some happily ever after breakfast fluff in Perthshire! As usual, I went overboard with the background, but I think it was worth it in the end! Hope everyone enjoys!
