Let’s say that you came home from work and you’re tired, hungry, and completely drained.

You didn’t even have time to say anything

The moment he takes in your disheveled state, he would immediately scoop you up in his arms, put you in your pajamas, make you your favorite food then lets you eat it on the couch with your favorite tv show on, then proceed to put your legs on his lap to massage your feet and ask how your day went.

Totally empathizes with you when you complain about how your boss was a total jerk.

Asks if you need him to “talk” with your boss real quick.

Obviously you say no.

Is definitely the type to make short jokes

Even if he isn’t that much taller than you

He’s excited to finally have someone shorter than him, leave him be!

While you’re trying to reach something off a high shelf or something, he would definitely be like, “Need help, my love?” While smirking and looking all smug.

Tries to reach for it but he’s too short

Ends up using his magic to get it

When he hands it to you all embarrassed cuz he couldn’t reach it himself, you just smirk in amusement and kiss him on the cheek, “Thanks, love.”

Doesn’t matter how long you guys have been together, he still blushes at the pet names.

Like, you’re definitely the perfect size for him for him to just scoop up and put you on his lap. Loves nuzzling his face at the back of your neck when he does.

Blushes and smiles like a lovesick fool each and every time.

Fiddles with your tail when you sit on his lap.

Loves being big spoon because it makes him feel like he can protect you cuz of how small you are.

Sometimes when he went to sleep early and you had to stay up late to finish some work, he’d get a nightmare and go to your office wearing his duck pajamas with a blanket around his shoulders while holding a pillow with his hair looking disheveled. He’d stand infront of the door and keep looking at you with cute puppy eyes, all big and glistening, filled with tears until you get off your desk and lead him back to the bedroom to cuddle his nightmares away.

Appreciates it every time.

Makes sure you know it through mumbles in between kisses he leaves on your hand when you spoon him.

Loves being spooned after nightmares

Just very grateful he has you in his life now. He just loves you so much.

Seems to be obsessed with you on an unhealthy level

But you love it and think it’s cute so you don’t care. Plus, he’d never hurt you.

Makes you jambalaya during the time he knows you would arrive home.

The only reason he hasn’t killed him yet is because you said no

He’d never disobey you

If you’re upset, he’d take you to his room, lay your head on his lap, rubs you head and horns, and sing for you

If that’s not enough, he’d lay his head on your lap instead and lets you play with his ears

It’s finally happening. Charlie was finally going to introduce her partner to her dad. She just hopes that he doesn’t hate (Name) as soon as he sees them.

“Calm down, Char! I’m sure it’ll go great- I mean, how bad could it be, right?” You tried to comfort Charlie. Not like you were any better. You were just as nervous, maybe even more. You were going to meet the king of hell for heaven’s sake!

“No- you’re right! There’s no way he won’t like you! You’re like- the nicest person I know! He’s bound to take a liking to you-,” Charlie says, pacing around the hotel lobby. Nobody was present at the moment, she told everyone that she was gonna have an important meeting with her dad and had Vaggie request that nobody be present in the lobby at that time.

Knock knock

He’s here! Already?! You just hope that everything goes well and he ends up liking you. Charlie would be pretty upset if he didn’t. You would too-

“Charlie! So good to see you again!”

Lucifer said as he basically crushed her in a bear hug with a grin.

“G-Good to see you too, dad!” Charlie wheezes out as she hugs him back.

He lets go as he walks into the lobby, “So what is this important thing you wanted to show me, Char Char?”

“Uhm- dad, I just wanted you to meet someone really important to me, so- Uhm,” She drags you over by the shoulders, “meet (Name)! My lover!” Says Charlie with a nervous smile.

“Pleasure to meet you, sir!” You extend your hand for a shake, Lucifer grabs your hand with narrowed eyes and a strained grin as his grip on your hand tightens to a painful degree. “Likewise.”

Awkward silence…

“Alright!” Says Charlie with a clap to clear the awkwardness, “Why don’t you two get to know each other while I go get us some drinks.”

You look at Charlie with a pleading look to not leave you alone with her dad, because you know for a fact you would’ve been dead ten times over from the way he’s glaring at you if looks could kill.

Charlie gives you an apologetic smile as she quickily makes her way to the bar in the lobby.

“So,” He suddenly says, startling you, you turn to look at him. The way he’s looking at you tells you he’s displeased that you’re in a relationship with Charlie , “What are your intentions with my daughter?” Distrust clear in his voice.

Sweat drips down your temple. You take a deep breath, “I love her, sir. I want to try my best to make her happy like she does with me.” You say with a shaky smile.

His eyes narrow even further than before, “I’m not buying it. You’re a sinner! The only reason you’d be down here is if you did some really terrible things. Why would a terrible person like you want to be with Charlie. What is your plan exactly? Are you trying to exploit her kindness? Steal her money? Her life?”

He’s basically glaring now.

Your eyes widen as you immediately go to deny all the things he said, “What? N-No! I would never- I love Charlie! I wouldn’t ever do anything like that!”

“Bullshit!” Venom drips from his voice, he’s actually really starting to scare you now. Charlie, where are you?? “I want you as far away from my daughter as possible. Do you understand?”

“But sir-,”

“I said- Do you understand?” His eyes flash red as his horns slightly peak from under his skin.

“O-okay-,” you say dejectedly as you try to keep your tears at bay.

“Wonderful!” He goes back to normal as if he didn’t just basically threaten you, grin wide and everything, “I’m sure you’ll be gone by tomorrow morning, right?” He says with a threatening grin. “And Charlie better not hear a thing about this, clear?”

“Crystal.” You say as you look away to hide your tears.

After Charlie comes back with the drinks, you excuse yourself to the restroom to wash your face.

Charlie shoots you a worried glance. You flash her a small smile as you pass her.

“You didn’t say anything mean, did you dad?” Charlie shoots her dad a suspicious look.

“Pfft- What? No- I would never!” He lied as he took a sip of his drink, “They’re just the sweetest person ever! Good find Charlie!”

Her eyes sparkle as she heard what he said, “Right? They’re so nice to me too. They make me breakfast in bed practically everyday! Oh- and help with managing the hotel when I’m not here too! And their massages are the best! I love them so much!” Charlie continues going off on a tangent about all the nice things you’ve done and such.

As Lucifer listens to her talk, he starts to feel a bit guilty about how he treated you earlier but erases that thought from his head. He needs to keep his little apple pie safe. No matter the cost.

(Name) never returned to the lobby after that. Lucifer decided to excuse himself deciding that it’s gotten late and that he needs to attend to his “kingly” duties tomorrow. Charlie goes to the bedroom to find (Name) already asleep. So she goes to bed too with a smile on her face. In her mind, her dad and her partner liked each other. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

The next morning, Lucifer gets a call from Charlie. She’s sobbing, barely getting her breaths out as she tells him that you broke up with her.

“Why would they break up with me!” She sobs, “Was it because of me? Because I did something?-,”

“No Charlie! Definitely not your fault. Maybe they left for a good reason?” He says unsure of himself.

Charlie pauses on her end, “Did you do something, dad?”

“O-Of course not, sweetie!-,”

“Dad, please!”

“…” Lucifer is at a loss. He didn’t know Charlie would be this devastated. “I’ll go find them and talk to them for you, okay apple pie?” He settles.

Charlie sniffles, “Really?”

“Really! They’ll be back with you in no time! Not a problem at all! So just- stop crying, okay? Please?” If he needs to go find that sinner his daughter likes then so be it.

“Okay,” Charlie says, “ But please- don’t say mean things to them okay?”

“Of course, sweetie,”

They both hang up.

Lucifer messed up bad. He didn’t mean to make Charlie that upset. He needs to find that sinner, and convince them to go back to Charlie. He just hopes he didn’t scare them too much the last time they both talked. He needs to fix this.

You moved back to the little apartment you had. It wasn’t much, but at least it was a roof over your head. As you head out to try find a new job, Lucifer pops outta nowhere making you take several steps back.

“Hey there! Mind having a talk with lil old me?” He says with an expecting grin.

You were scared for your life. You already did as he asked so why was he here?!

You shakily smile as you answer him, “Of course, sir.”

His grin widens as he opens a portal to a cafe of sorts. He leads you inside to a private booth. He motions at the seat infront of him, gesturing you to take a seat. He calls the waiter over, orders you both drinks then you settle in silence as the waiter leaves.

He clears his throat, startling the crap out of you. “So,” he says awkwardly, “How are you today?” He asks as he tries to start small talk.

“Fine,” You reply.

He winces at your dry response.

“So uhh- Charlie sounded pretty upset this morning when she called me,” He says as he fiddles with his fingers.

You were too scared to say anything really. You already knew Charlie was going to be upset, but it’s not like you had much choice in the matter.

He was gauging your reaction to his words. You seem to be just as upset as Charlie sounded on the phone with him earlier. You look like you are close to tears.

He sighed as he finally got his thoughts together, “I’m sorry.” He says looking at his lap, seeming completely ashamed of his actions.

Your head snapped up fast enough to give you whiplash from hearing him apologize. Apologize? He’s apologizing? To you?? The King of Hell is apologizing to a lowly sinner like you?!

“I shouldn’t have done what I had. I should’ve gotten to know you better before judging you immediately.” He finally looks up from his lap to look at you to find you sat then completely frozen with a shocked look on your face.

“You love her, don’t you?” He asks you with a hopeful expression. He smiles in relief when you nod with a soft ‘yes’. His smile softens when he sees how tense you are, you look like you’re ready to bolt at a moments notice. He grimaces on the inside. He shouldn’t have been that harsh. He judged you too early. “How about we try to get to know each other for a bit. You are going to be my child in law sooner or later, aren’t you?” He takes a sip of his drink with a grin.

Your eyes glisten with tears of relief. Lucifer panics a bit at the sight of your tears before you explain that it’s just tears of happiness. He calms down at your explanation. The fact that you’re crying tears of joy over knowing that you could still be with Charlie made Lucifer change his mind about you. You might just be what Charlie needs. He hopes that Charlie can forgive him for what he did.

Negative thoughts aside! He needs to get to know his daughter’s partner better! Properly this time.

“A Night Without You”

Summary: Kaeya wakes up in the middle of the night after a nightmare without you for the first time in years.

Nightmares weren't new to Kaeya. He was used to dealing with them by himself ever since that particular night. Waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, feeling his heart beating in his throat, his stomach churning with nausea, with panic welling in his chest.

He normally would nurse a glass of cold water into the early hours of the morning to try to calm himself, his mind spiraling, never at ease, not being able to bring himself to go back to sleep. Barely functioning during the day from what little sleep he did get, which wasn't much at all.

But ever since you came into his life, broke down the walls he worked so hard to build around his heart, loved and cared for him with all your being, he realized that the nightmares didn't bother him as much as they did before. Every single time he would get startled out of his sleep in the middle of the night, you would always cradle his face in your palms, dry his tears, stroke his hair with his head on your chest, and whisper sweet nothings into his ear until his heart calmed enough for him to fall back into the deep clutches of slumber.

Kaeya sighed for the nth time that evening as he made his way home. Feeling exhausted from all the extra paperwork Jean forced upon him that afternoon. He couldn't wait to get back home, and fall into your arms as you told him all about your day, the annoying people you had to deal with on an almost daily basis from the adventurers guild, or the pretty calla lilies you would randomly bring back with you because you said they reminded you of him.

Finally arriving in front of his door step, fumbling around with his keys for a bit before he eventually unlocked his door. Kaeya sighed as he entered his home. Closing the door and leaning his back on it as he closed his eyes, and took a deep breath at coming home at last. Opening his eyes, he looked around for any sign of you, but then he remembered, you weren't going to be home tonight because of something that came up with the guild. Right, they're not home, he thought as he kicked off his boots before stepping in, looking at the clock in his living room before sighing again at how late it was, 10:36, the clock read. He was walking towards his bedroom before he glanced at the kitchen for a bit, even though he hadn't had lunch that afternoon, he didn't have an appetite. The thought of food alone was making him nauseous.

He glanced away and continued his way to his bedroom, changing into a more comfortable set of clothes, he took off his eye patch as he made his way to bed. He remembered how you would always gently caress his eye before he would sleep, finding the golden hue of his eye to be the most dazzling shade of gold you've ever seen. Realizing how he was missing you greatly, he clutched your pillow to his chest, shoving his face in it to find comfort in your scent during your absence. This is fine, he thought to himself. I've slept alone before they came along, he closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. How hard can it be, he exhaled the air in his lungs as his eye lids came to a close, your scent lulling him into a deep sleep.

It wasn't until a few hours later that he started to stir in his sleep, hands twitching, breath hitching, sweat layered his forehead, brows furrowed as tears started falling down his cheeks. He jolted out of his sleep with a sob, quickly sitting up as he clutched the part of his shirt where his heart is. Tears were running down his cheeks, eyes wide in a panic as he clawed at his shirt, too tight, he thought with panic coursing through him, too hot, can't breathe! He couldn't find you, you weren't asleep next to him, you weren't present to comfort him, you just weren't there.

Did you leave him? Did you get tired of him and decided to leave without saying goodbye? He couldn't think, he could barely breathe, gasping for air while curling in on himself, he felt like he was going to throw up, not quite possible considering there's nothing in his stomach, he hadn't had dinner, or lunch for that matter. He started to sob, calling out your name as he tried to get his breathing in control, now tightly gripping your pillow to his chest, maybe your scent would calm him down as he sobbed into your pillow.

A few minutes passed as he calmed down a bit, breathing now slightly stable. He recalled his dream, you left. You didn't think he was good enough. Calling him a liar, and a waste of time before packing your bags and leaving, never looking back.

He could barely think about anything, that scene playing on repeat in his head. He wasn't sure if you really left or not. Couldn't tell dream from reality.

As he was questioning basically everything in his life, he spots something in the peripheral of his vision. It was your plushie, the one you would usually cuddle when he wasn't there with you. You left it on the nightstand, claiming that it will watch over him in your place until you got back from your trip. That's right, he released the pillow he was so tightly holding on to in favor of grabbing your blue cat plush. They're just away for a bit, he thought. He remembered when he first saw you with it, you said you'd bought it because it reminded you of him, you even bought a little eyepatch for it to match his. He smiled as he remembered how happy you were when you showed it to him. He remembered how you always greeted him with a smile whenever you caught sight of him during your commissions. He remembered how you'd always hug him tightly and kiss his cheek in greeting every time you'd come across him during the day. He remembered how you would always make sure he had the most warm delicious dinner whenever you made it home before him.

He closed his eyes and remembered every little thing you did for him out of love, without expecting anything in return, like it's second nature for you to just perform acts of service just because. It's just the way you showed your love, doing everything in your power to just make his life even if a little bit easier.

He's so grateful for all you've done for him. Carefully embracing the cat plushie close to his chest, he found solace in the fact that even in your absence, you cared enough about him to make sure that he had something of yours to keep him company.

It never occurred to him before, but after reminiscing about all the time he had with you, he found that he had never loved anyone in his life as much as he loved you. You were the best thing that happened to him. He didn't know what he'd do if you decided to leave. So for now, he would treasure every little moment, whether big or small.

Lying back down, he closed his eyes, hugging the plush, and fell back to sleep to the thought of you. He slept peacefully for the rest of the night. He might be a knight, but you're his princess in dazzling armor.
