OUAT Supremacy!
Rachel Zeglar: I’m gonna be the first Snow White who is not going to be a damsel in distress dreaming about true love and instead she’ll learn to become a fighter and a great leader for her kingdom! No one’s ever done an independent Snow White before!
Me:

It's kinda more than jus that, the White Fang is corrupt, but its not that easy to spot due to its branches in the North, West, and East which are doing a pretty good job, West taking more pacifist role because that alone is enough to sway the west,
The North they are taking a more physical route fighting corrupt higher ups and the anti-Faunus militia The Kriegsratten Korps(They allude to the Rats in The Nutcracker plus allusions to Nazis) except the SDC which isn't the bad guys in this one(they're more like a once great relatively big but local company but not doing so well now), that actually goes to Watts and his Conglomerate, Gigawatts Robotics(But I'm gonna ramble right off topic for that)
The South, well Vacou really doesn't have that problem so the WF just oversees its progress
But the main branch in the East reeks of corruption by the demagogue Sumire Kuroko, Blake and Adam's abusive sensei(and Adam's 'surrogate mother') and my Canon!Adam substitute who's using the situations in the other parts of the world to distract the other branches as she plans to corrupt the WF from the inside-out so she can use it for selfish political power and has even more twisted intentions for her pupils to live out her sick fantasy, let's just say she herself was an ex-lover of Blake's late father Ghira when they were young...
Blake and Adam are aware and seek to kick her out, but Adam doesn't want outside help while Blake does, and it strains their relationship they start arguing with each other, thus she takes off, and later it takes team RWBY fighting Adam to prove him they can.
I'm using Toa Tahu from Bionicle as a basis as he was known to have his heart in the right place, but was hot-headed, headstrong, and kinda a jerk to those outside his tribe such as his fellow Toa until his encounter with the Rahkshi and recovering knocked some sense into him.
And when Adam joins the good guys, I was actually thinking about shipping him with Yang, his stoic no-nonsense and occasionally hammy personality complementing Yang's flirtatious "Party-Girl" attitude and Blake and Adam both being "Beast" figures, one feminine and one masculine, and Sun and Yang being "Beauty" figures, also being respectively masculine and feminine, and the couples could play off each other pretty well.
That and the White Fang and Adam over the story become so much more, I'm using "The Chronicles of Narnia" as a basis, which I'm listening to and near the end of Prince Caspian
Been working on my reimagined AU and its quite unorthodox and I'm not sure you would like it, but I think it would just make more sense of make Blake and Adam more like brother and sister and make him an initial antagonist turned ally just looking at the story, world, and characters in retrospect and what they could have been.
Oh absolutely. I don’t mind Tauradonna but I prefer a platonic relationship between the two that emphasizes the broken mentor/student dynamic.
Adam becoming a terrifying enemy and then reforming to become an ally - all the while pushing those around him to confront their internal biases - is my bread and butter. Keeping him involved in the story and taking him seriously opens the door to flesh out the WF plot and Blake herself.
From what you’ve described, it doesn’t sound unorthodox at all for an AU, but no doubt there are worldbuilding and other aspects you left out :)
I often wonder about what Edmund, Eustace, and Lucy talked about for the rest of the summer.
I imagine they're all hanging out peacefully, reading or something, and then all of the sudden Edmund's like "Hey Eustace. Do you remember that time you tried to sue King Caspian of Narnia in British court of law first thing after being fished out of the ocean?"
And Eustace gets all embarrassed and grumbles to himself, so Lucy takes pity on him and volunteers "You know, the first time Edmund went into Narnia he literally took candy from a stranger"
And Eustace now demands that they explain everything because he believes them now, and I just think it would have been really good bonding time for them
The more you try to be like something else, the more likely you won’t
I just read an article that was a list of anime’s fans of ATLA should watch, and y’all… RW//BY was on it lmao
Exact quote:
“RW//BY isn’t a traditional anime as it’s produced in the United States of America instead of in Japan. It does, however, use a lot of the elements fantasy anime is known for, including a trek across the known world, just like in Avatar. The teams in RWBY are born out of school assignments instead of necessity, but like Avatar, the group of teenagers is tasked with stopping someone who wants to use their power to ruin the world. Taking inspiration from fairy tales, the audience will find a lot of things familiar about the story, but with new twists on characters and happy endings. The series deals with grief, the burden of responsibility, and fear in a lot of the same ways Avatar does.”
Not even getting into everything false about this, but the bit about it deals with heavy themes the same way… that in itself is so inaccurate, I’m in tears lol
If anything, we should be asking *Filthy Frank Voice*
“But-wha…Why do you give a shit?”
Also these are the same guys who say “They’re fiction, their no real, chill my man, it’s not that deep”
Then how the fuck is it delusion then? Especially when it’s an AU and the most of us aren’t trying to claim to be canon?
Also isn’t fanfiction originally the original way people viewed storytelling in the old days or something?
It’s all about controlling other people with these fandoms, it’s the fact they want to control or at the very least suppress what you think, feel, and create…
your ship isn't canon.
And what if I keep living in blissful delusion? What then?
