Kuczo From Emperor's New Groove Refutes the Bs Sheltered Excuse For Stolas

I know people use the sheltered excuse to cover for Stolas' crappy behavior but I see another character who I think refutes Stolas should be given leeway because he's sheltered is Kuczo from "Emperor's New Groove". The reason why I say this is because why he became such a selfish pos is that he was always sheltered and spoiled to think that way. However, one thing that the narrative doesn't do is shield him from being criticized for his selfishness and callousness. The main plot happens because of his shittiness and taking people for granted like his long time advisor (although that one did have justification because she was trying times to rule behind his back).
Throughout the story he's made to reflect on the fact that his actions affect others and that he can't keep acting the way he is or he will end up alone as a result. And even at one point in the story he even tells off his own narration to feel sorry for himself because at that point we saw that he brought everything on himself and is now paying for it. That is something Stolas would never do because he will frequently deny he's not anything but the complete victim and blame everything after everyone else when it's obvious he's to blame for his own misery.
That's the difference between Kuzco and Stolas as characters is accountability from the narrative. Kuzco's ignorance doesn't give him the excuse to be a pos and he has to learn be a better person or be stuck the way he is forever. Stolas on the other hand is babied and we are supposed to find his ignorance charming rather than obnoxious. And even when it's pointed out he doubles down and claims he's done nothing wrong which shows he is adverse to actually learning to better himself. And ironically Kuzco is just a year younger than Stolas' daughter who acts more mature than her dad. And youth doesn't stop him from being someone who needs his actions corrected.
And most of all entitlement both Kuczo (in the beginning) and Stolas are both entitled characters due to their ignorance. Kuczo for example is so entitled he thinks that there is nothing wrong with bulldozing a village to make a resort for himself while leaving many homeless and when turned into a llama he demands one of the villagers who he told what was going to happen to take him back. Meanwhile, Stolas thinks nothing of extorting someone for sex and then expects to have a relationship with that person since he called it off. However, one character manages to show how toxic this mentality is and how selfish they are for it. The other is treated as deserving of it and thus doesn't get admonish for not caring how others feel until he gets what he wants. And ironically even if Kuczo had moral lapses before truly changing, he comes off as more likable than Stolas.
It's interesting that an almost 25 year old Disney movie can get this character right but a supposedly adult animated show can't. It really shows what happens when let a creator pet blind the story and allow them to get away with more and more shit.
rb this post to give the person u rbed it from a pretty fall leaf :]

Escaping hell on earth is tiring, don't you agree?
Here's a wip of these two. I still can't get them out of my mind. I still need sleep, suffering through art block, and dying to make an animatic....
RWBY has concepts that in my opinion are either very subjective, such tone and conflict and how one reimagines the characters given their source material for inspiration and what story is told with these ideas or concepts.
Or “they are either this or that” and the case of the latter in my opinion is Adam and the White Fang and Jack and The Schnee Dust Company
You either go all in on Jacques being a scum-fuck and the SDC a monstrous megacorporation bordering on an imperialistic empire, like what @sytokun is doing with RWBY:Remnants or what I’m sure Celtic-Phoenix can tune up
and make Adam Taurus a Magneto/Megatron-Like character and White Fang like The Brotherhood of Mutants
Or
You make them underdog good factions, make Jack and Adam just kinda well-meaning asses who get better and use other characters and factions as foils to them.
The latter I'm personally going with due to my sickness of grimmdark and plenty of other people doing the former already
I want them to make out passionately and go on steampunky, pulpy, swashbuckling escapades

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, all clean and fair without, but within, full of dead man’s bones and all corruption!”-Matthew 23:27
They think it’s “hopepunk" because they say so.
Literary Intellectuals have become so arrogant in their judgement that they think they can just say things and make something true, untrue, or something else.

“The truth, is what I make it.”
RWBY Stan: You don't like the dark turn in RWBY V3 nor Pyrrha and Arkos being tragic among the other tragic things because your not ultimately hopeful while being aware of the horrors of reality like I am. You need to go outside and touch grass and go watch sitcoms instead.
Me:(lost two people in high school in the same year, one in a car accident) Or you can do that and not judge me and try to force me into a neat little box.

TF One Worldbuilding Bits That Make Me Lose My Mind
The constant "Transforming" of the very planet itself, and the Cybertronians' culture somewhat revolving around having to work with their topography constantly changing and moving.
The premise that the energon of Cybertron does not flow if the "true ruler" is not present.
"He who so findeth this Matrix of Leadership is rightwise king, born of Cybertron..." Optimus is literally King Arthur, and Alpha Trion is Merlin
What little we see of the "Organic" aspect of the planet- the "Deer," the grass, the moss, the evidence that not all of Cybertron is just shiny metal.
The evidence of the ruined buildings up on the surface, indicating that life up on the surface and solid, permanent structures were once possible and they're not doomed to live underground.
The fact that the buildings of Iacon seem almost like upside-down skyscrapers hanging from the ceiling, which indicates either they were built this way, like stalactites of a cave, or perhaps were topside at one time and then the planet folded the entire city into its underground to hide it from danger.
Roads and tracks that form in front of the transports and fade out behind them rather than being present all the time so the air is open for flight-capable bots, which seem to be in abundance.
The height difference between the cog-less bots and those with cogs- it's like Sentinel trapped them in prepubescence and wouldn't let them get their high-school growth spurts.
The Art-Deco inspired designs of Iacon
It bugs me how many chicks and dudes in Hunter duty in Remnant show off their midriffs. I get that RWBY is supposed to have sexy characters, as many anime characters and superheroes, but I feel like there's a point where I'm like "Okay, common man."
Like, that's where your vital organs are fam. There's a reason why you lie on your stomach during a bear attack.
Also Emerald sweetheart, I know you like to be sexy(probably for Mercury lol) but not only is showing off your tummy dangerous when in company of man-eating monsters, but your flaunting it in the frigid north.
There's plenty of fashionable winter jackets that can show off your curves without showing off some skin.
The Steps of being a RWBY Stan
Engaging with a dissident of RWBY wanting your words to come out of their mouths
Gloss over or outright ignore the dissidents thoughts and feelings and the reasons for their satisfaction and dissatisfaction
Reduce their arguments to whatever component makes them sound stupid, especially feelings, and label their arguments accordingly without elaborating
Tell dissidents to consume alternative you approve of, even if it doesn't have what they're looking for
Imply these people are not entitled to anything nor allowed to have a personal anything, and expect them to surrender every aspect of their autonomy to you, the "experts”
If they take matters into their own hands with either fanfiction or original works that recycles ideas and concepts, passive aggressively or patronizingly imply they're ultimately nothing and contribute nothing and these dissidents have no good reason for what makes them happy
Tell others to "curate" their consumption of media and interaction online, but never practice what you preach yourself, because you supposedly know better and need to correct and educate everyone

Thanks to @zimgrizz I can’t help but feel Alice and P are just passionate lovers in private
Sure Alice is more low key compared her affectionate steampunk cyborg boyfriend in public, but as Alice and P/Carlo or who I call “Pietro” gain a better understanding of love, P absolutely starts leaving hickeys on Alice’s neck
And of course Lorenzini has to be a dick and teases about it when he notices said hickeys on Alice’s neck

Listen to me.
Happy endings are not bad.
Wanting characters to be ultimately happy is not the same ignoring conflict.
Writing good conflict WITH a satisfying and believable resolution takes time and talent.
You are a good writer even if you only write happy endings.
Grimdark sad endings do not have more depth than happy endings.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is probably a grimdark writer with a disproportionate sense of their own ability and depth.
Let your characters be happy, and don’t let anyone tell you that you are subpar for wanting that.
Tragedy was meant to humble us and have compassion for the unfortunate
Not make us feel like holier-than-thou martyrs and prophets while putting down everyone else as peon reprobates
Liking tragic things doesn’t magically make you morally and intellectually superior to others, nor do you get to shove everyone who disagree with you into approved alternatives because you think that’s the end-all-be-all.
If you gotta get nasty, passive aggressive, and condescending to those who didn’t like it and judge, shame, and gaslight them, that says more about you as a person than it does about those who disagree with you.
And it makes people skeptical of your reasoning for liking tragedy.
I which I could stop caring what other people think and be confident in my opinion and just take the chip off my shoulder
But I fear I’m just gotta get trampled, kicked, beaten and spat on again
It feels like it’s better to be a pile of broken glass that broke from fragility than toughen up because it feels like you’re toughening up into a punching bag for everyone to abuse
RWBY Redesign Critique Ask.
https://www.tumblr.com/divinecomedyproductions/734986950335938561/it-is-with-great-pleasure-i-get-to-show-you-all something to review on my redesigns which I commissioned a friend to do for my reimagined AU, he’s a great artist so if any criticism comes I feel it should be towards me since I gave him the direction

——
Sorry I took a bit long to respond and critique! I’ll talk about the redesigns in chronological order of team RWBY. You mention this as being part of an AU of sorts but I’ll just critique it as just outfits for the girls’ character.
——

Ruby Rose.
I hope you guys know when I critique designs I do my best to not sound rude. I’m only harsh/very constructive towards the artists and directors who get PAID to design characters as they’re making money off this by plastering said designs onto merchandise. A character designer who works for a show’s company is gonna have higher expectations compared to a commission piece that’s out of fun and joy- So please don’t be upset if I say something that sounds mean.
With that out of the way, Ruby’s look is cute but simple. She’s the safest design of the four. Ruby wearing silver earrings is again cute but this does remind me too much of her Volume 2 look. I obviously can’t judge since last I redesigned Ruby she was just a culmination of her Atlas and Vale look but more slate color. I’m guessing Ruby was the hardest to redesign for this one.
Her look isn’t bad but overall just a safe design.

Weiss Schnee.
Shea is giving me magical school girl vibes I don’t know why- Revolutionary Girl Utena!!!
Okay jokes aside I absolutely love how modest Weiss looks, I can’t totally see her wearing this if she ever attended Atlas instead of Beacon as her huntress attire. She has the perfect amount of red and black in where the placement of it should be, but as for the blue, maybe replace it with just white? As the blue, red, white, in this look does sometimes remind me of AMERICA FLAG!!!!!!!!!!
But if it did just get replaced with white than blue it wouldn’t look too much like her Volume 2 outfit. So don’t worry.

Blake Belladonna.
Oh my god…. YES! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Okay right off the bat, color placement is perfect, she’s got primary black with a good chunks of white and purple, plus the cute gold buttons to balance her eyes. I love it! Colored to perfection! She isn’t a black blob, she can look east to see where her limbs are if ever in combat.
With her hair back into a ponytail it doesn’t mess up her colors much anywhere like her original look almost did. I love the return of the bow now helping her show her ears than hide them, as it now pulls her hair back. I love her aesthetic as it still screams ‘a Blake outfit’ as sometimes people find it tricky to design for Blake. I always think that Blake just needs to have no sleeves in order for her outfit to work, but here is an exception. She’s my favorite of the four.

Yang Xiao Long.
Oooooh!! Okay it’s a tie cause I bias-
Yang actually looks like someone you can hang out with on a motorcycle! I love her aesthetic but what I love more is that she isn’t wearing ugly browns but instead black, making the yellows pop out so much more! Trust me if Yang just wore black instead of brown in the actual show, she’ll have a good outfit or two already in the show canon than just her Volume 2 design.
Though I think it’s too much yellow… I know you can have some purple somewhere to balance her eyes out. As for the yellow on her jacket sleeves it can just be black instead. A fourth color is definitely needed for this than just yellow, black and gold. But overall it’s so minor I’m willing to ignore it.
But I can’t really ignore the hat, it’s gonna turn into a crisp since I think hats would be in the way of Yang’s semblance, best to just ditch that part.
——
In summary, these outfits are fun. I can tell your friend really had fun designing the girls and had an actual vision to what aesthetic the girls should have. I’m still gonna encourage you play around with Ruby the most because Weiss, Blake, and Yang are absolutely stunning that just radiates their personalities and vibes well. I know they can do the same with Ruby.
