A small illustration for a text assignment at school.
I'm starting university!
This week I had my first classes, and it feels like my kind of place. Everything I study has to do with creating art, so this blog will occasionally have some school work posted to it along with free-time stuff.
The doodlerbird is of excitement!!
This thing popped into my head and I decided to draw it, for no reason other than to use a mechanical pencil and practice volume... and because I like gore and monsters. Mostly that.
I wanted to draw a lizard with a knife, and somehow it turned into a burglary situation. The little gecko one needs funds, and the big (kind of a komodo dragon but certainly not) one is really freaking scared of anything small that can move.
Some random shapes for practice. I really liked making this, it’s fun to draw whatever sometimes.
Digital drawing has gotten a lot more fun, so I’m gonna keep practicing and putting it up here.
I’m both happy and nervous to actually post this. These three are a group that I thought up when boredom hit, and they grew on me until it felt like they needed to be drawn. They’re fighting some inhuman threat.. that I might also draw.
Our last assignment for the school year was to look at a pile of random clothes for a while, and then make a character out of them. Mine turned into a dude in a jeans jacket and sweatpants who walks dogs and takes online classes. And is named Kurt for no real reason.
Some aliens and the ship they work on, from ink practice a while back.
This is a fish made out of masking tape, and most of a week. The volume inside is tape rolled into small tubes and stuck together, sort of like cells in a beehive wall. Then layers of those walls were combined to make up the base shape. I would have taken progress photos to show it but got too invested in the making. It’s 32 centimeters long.
Two brave rolls of tape were sacrificed.
It’s pollen season and some people I know informed me that flowers and plants suck right now. I’m not allergic and can’t really understand how it feels to be bullied by nature in such a way. Still it inspired the making of a pollen-y fish monster... because I like sturgeons.
Practiced pens and made some characters! That lizard is supposed to be sized at about 27 cm. And the warrior well.. they’re small. Thought the comparatively huge environment would make them both a bit tougher. I imagine humans would be scary, but easy to avoid. Snakes on the other hand..nah they just don’t deal with snakes.
Don’t know exactly how that spear works, but I think of it as being flexible and sharp the way the fin of a fish might. Maybe made from a super good sapling and it’s leaf or something.
Made some progress in conquering my fear of soft colours. Especially pink/purple. The snake provided motivational support.
I wanted to experiment with some new masking fluid. A three headed skeletal space monster also happened to be chilling in my sketchbook, so it got to medium-hop and become part of this here thing. It looks happy about that and I’m not complaining either.
A painting that I’m very very proud of. Doing this was scary because landscapes are tricky and oil paint even more so to me. It’s made from imagination without real life references.
Releasing my real name feels too daunting so it’s covered up by my logo.
A thing that was made for practicing with blue and red pencils. It was supposed to just be a sketch but got a bit out of control. Don’t know what it is but it was fun to make.
Some recent school nude drawings. I’m pretty happy with these.
This bird is called Treron Vernans, or the pink necked green pigeon. Name really does not do it justice, rainbow pigeon fits much better.
I love these birds, they look like dyed plaster castings.
A thing I felt like making for no particular reason. Pretty quick, but a lot of fun.
A slime girl I guess but ink instead?? (I love ink as a substance, but in reality it just gets everywhere ugh)
You are very welcome. They are also responsible for a metric ton of my pens going missing over the years. But those ghosts are more jerks than violent.
i have a bruise on my shoulder but i hadn’t done anything to it?
Explanation: sneaky violent ghosts

I wanted to play with some new ink pens and get back into my old color pencils. So a Bird of Paradise inspired harpy was born.. hatched? Wichever, I like it and it’s the most colourful thing I’ve made in a long while.
