I think one of the most important things we can do, as we move beyond the initial surge of “ace dis/course”, is begin documenting our community history and circulating that information.

We are a community that’s been damaged, and we will need time and work to heal. A lot of folks came into the community during years of intense strife, fear, and growing shame.

Now, the community is beginning to pick itself back up again. We’re poking our heads out of the closet, and looking around to see if the dust has settled.

In the wake of all that’s happened, it’s more important than ever to talk about where we’ve come from as we decide where to go.

We come from a deep sense of community, from supporting and uplifting one another, and from a place of establishing traditions and finding meaning and connection in our experiences. Let’s talk about that, revive what we can, and move forward from a place of hope for our future and love for our past.

just to be clear, the fact that music was nominated for a golden globe is absolutely disgusting. every single (adult) involved in that gross, ableist movie should be sickened by themselves.

for those of you who don't know, music (2021) is a movie being directed by sia about a nonverable autistic girl. not only does it not include any actually autistic people in the movie itself but it also only took advice from autism speaks which is looked at as a hate group by the majority of the autistic community. leaked scenes have also shown the movie glorifying prone restraints which are incredibly dangerous and have resulted in major injuries and even death to disabled people as recently as last year.

autistic people just like me have been incredibly outspoken about how harmful this movie is but the allistic have been mostly silent. we are already seeing reviews calling this movie 'inspiring' and important' and it's absolutely horrific! we need your help calling this out. please stand with us and call out this disgusting display of disrespect to autistic folks.

Unus Annus. One year. 

UA truly made this year so much better. It was fun having something to look forward to everyday and every video made me laugh. It wasn’t about the content, it was about the memories we made along the way. And I’ll always be grateful for them.

tldr: the Internet Archive/WayBack Machine is super important in term of archived content, billions of stuff are on there, and with the current event happening in the world like stated above,without this tool, it will be hard to properly document what took place. It will be easy for certain people to rewrite history. Dont let them.

I thought it fitting to start the Doodlerbird blog with some doodled birds. They were practice for drawing faster, and it feels like making them helped me relax into it more. Also expect much more phone camera action.

New profile picture! I’ve had the old one for over a year, and felt like I could do better now. It’s all water themed because I love lakes and oceans, and to swim in general.
