Might i add that chernobyl was using an outdated system, with fewer safety precautions, and they were pushing the reactor hard, and they tried to cover it up first, not clean it up and alert people, all of which made things worse.

Pretty small, can be made very very safe with lots of failsafe containment and everything, underground which protects against tampering, refueling only happens every ~30 years as opposed to 1.5-2 years, and they operate at lower temperatures which also makes them safer.
