my favorite thing about edwin and charles is that edwin just hands charles shit all the time, and charles is so ready to hold it like the ultimate wifeguy he is. and also that whenever edwin is threatened (eg, the night nurse during ep 4) he does not move an inch because charles is there to save him. now these might sound like two seperate things, but they are not

both of these things show that they are so in sync and have such a fundamental trust in one another, both in the mundane and the extreme. edwin KNOWS charles will hold the envelope opener, and edwin KNOWS charles will protect him from the night nurse. they have utter confidence in one another, and it is utterly deserved, and i just. really love that

Idk if anyone is a fan of Manifest but it was in a similar situtation as Dead Boy Detectives is: canceled on a cliffhanger and then picked back up. There's a fantastic, enlightening article on how the fans managed to make that happen:

So, Point 1 I'm trying to make: REWATCH THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW. Have it on all day, every day and when it gets to the Netflix Top-10 trending DO NOT STOP. Have it on in the background on a low volume, pop some headphones in if you don't want to hear it. Literally KEEP WATCHING. DO NOT CANCEL YOUR NETFLIX ACCOUNT.

Point 2: If you have a family member or friend who hasn't watched Dead Boy Detectives, ask them to. If they're not interested, here's what I suggest - ask them to let you sign into their account and watch it full through to help boost the viewership. Do it at night when they're sleeping or while they're at work and don't need their account. If Netflix sees an uptick in accounts who have never watched this show watching it, that will raise eyebrows.

They do not care about our feelings. They do not care about the integrity of artful storytelling or the importance of queer representation.

They care about views. We need to give them views. A tremendous turnaround in viewership post-cancellation will make them reconsider. That's how we save our show. It's just like Crystal Palace said - we need a unified front if we're going to face the mistress of doom (Netflix HQ) out there!!!

STREAM THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW and do not stop telling others to do the same! If you were on the fence about watching this show, this is your sign to watch it because we need you now more than ever! I promise you will love it, the show is so meaningful, fun, and special... plus we are an awesome, active fandom with talented writers and artists! Making this post so I can pin it, but also, just in case anyone hasn’t signed the petition yet (we’re over 9k!) or would like to help me spam Netflix’s title requests with Dead Boy Detectives season 2.

Destiel reincarnated????

Ok fellow Destiel shippers, how does this ship sound?

Character A: Not very outwardly emotional, much older than they look, doesn't really understand modern human culture, a lot of knowledge about the supernatural, many sassy moments. Deeply in love with best friend but afraid to confess it until the very last moment, partly due to them not fully understanding what love really is. Very gay, and very confused about sexuality

Character B: Extroverted and flirtatious towards women, but deeply in denial about being bi. Tragic backstory where their father was an asshole and made them feel like they had to be manly, and like they were never good enough. Loves 80s music and would rather hit a problem in the face than talk things out. Anger issues and a lot of insecurity, but a heart of gold. Also in love with their best friend but is not ready to address what kind of love they're feeling

Need more convincing?? One literally rescues the other from hell, except this time, we see it in all it's beautiful and romantic glory. Here's a difference though, the confession happens in the first season, and is met with assurances that their love is returned, even if they can't say for certain what kind of love it is.

And here's another difference, Character A has multiple suitors pursuing him and making him realise that he is, in fact, into men. And the gay panic is glorious.

Edwin Payne is Castiel, and Charles Rowland is Dean Winchester!!!!

Interested???? Watch Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix!!!! Trying to get the numbers up and this has the potential to heal the Destiel shaped hole in our hearts!!! Netflix cancelled it after one season, but if we get the viewing numbers up there's a chance it could still be picked up!!!

Supernatural went for 15 seasons!! We can get a season 2!!!

Let’s save Dead Boy Detectives

Here’s my strategy (yes it’s an annoying process but I’ll do anything):

Cancel your Netflix subscription and in the survey they provide under Other cite “Dead Boy Detectives Cancellation” and any other bullets you want

Stream the SHIT out of Dead Boy Detectives while your account is still active with VOLUME ON all the way to completion

BUY a Netflix gift card and create a throw away email - START A NEW ACCOUNT using both and stream the shit out of the show with volume on to completion ; this will count as the ever important NEW VIEWER

Borrow logins from friends and family and stream the shit out of dead boy detectives THEN create a new profile on the account and stream it AGAIN (no one seems able to confirm if a second stream on the same account but a different profile counts more than multiple viewings on one account so let’s try it)

Write to Netflix how disappointed you are with this decision and your plans to stop subscribing since you do not feel safe investing any time in their originals due to cancellations and long waits between seasons
