Because It's Still Sort Of The New Year And I've Not Blogged Nearly Enough To Give This Internet Corner
Because it's still sort of the new year and I've not blogged nearly enough to give this internet corner an identity yet, I thought I'd talk about my life at the moment.
I'm on Uni break from my Medical Science degree, which will hopefully become a Medicine post-grad in two years. I really enjoy Science and want to be a Doctor (at the moment, I'm looking at Pathology) but I kind of miss the diversity of High School with all of STEM plus the Humanities.
Because I'm super forgetful, I've recently started using Obsidian to try to organise my thoughts into a 'second brain' so that important things don't evaporate from my head as soon as I need them.
I'm self-teaching myself Python, which is fun. I'm currently trying to write a program that lets you create and use a character sheet for DnD5e.
I'm a little interested in learning how to use base2 counting in everyday life, and a lot interested in the Shavian writing system for English at the moment.

I'm a lifesaver and bartender but mostly unemployed.
I play hockey, and am thinking about moving back to defence after trying out striker last year.

This looks really cool. I used an image prompt with a similar vibe to practise my creative writing for the HSC.

Oh no, I have a girlfriend of 5 years... am I about to be engaged?

Itโs an old tradition that during a leap year women could propose to men. This was usually depicted as old or ugly women trapping men, but some art focused more on the role reversal and could be quite cute.
I have a soft spot in my heart for the last one because it plays on the idea of โundesirableโ people, a tall masculine woman and a shy effeminate man, finding each other but instead of mocking them depicts it as sweet that she could finally ask him because he was too shy and insecure to ask her.
I need to remember to reblog this when it actually is May the 4th.
happy birthday, the star war!
genuinely one of the saddest parts of this new era of the internet is how hard it is to rick roll someone now. with people's attention spans shortening so much, they wouldn't even get through the first few bait seconds before clicking off the video. like i saw a comment that ended with "btw i made all of this up" and the replies kept treating it so seriously because none of them finished the entire 4 sentence comment. and We're no strangers to love You know the rules and so do I (do I) A full commitment's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other guy I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
BASED, maybe sometime I should blog about how I would punish my players in a DnD oneshot for trying to poke holes in my (non-existant) worldbuilding. Short preview: I would use my improv skills to quickly think of a contrived reason why there was no plot hole and then I would make that reason incredibly cursed. I generally have a limited drawing ability but one of those players is a MADLAD and drew the cursed elves I created when I decided that the reason the NPC elves didn't like one of the players was because elves had a cultural thing against short people because they were tall (like LOTR elves)(also, don't question the logic behind short/tall discrimination. Yes, it's rediculous but it's also an in-joke and society sort of discriminates based on height with different genders only being allowed to be tall or short) BUT the elf in my party had 4ft something as their character height (slightly taller than Santa elves) so one thing led to another and now... Elves ears are half of their body height and they measure from the top of their ears, where they have a second pair of eyeballs attached like snails.
