Everybody Has Been Wondering Why Cinderella's Glass Slipper Didn't Disappear At Midnight. Myself I Wondered

Everybody has been wondering why Cinderella's glass slipper didn't disappear at midnight. Myself I wondered about this. But it isn't a mystery. There's a solution and I feel so dumb for not seeing this because it is right in the text.

We are so used to the Disney imagery of the fairy godmother conjuring up the slippers. But that's not what happens in Perrault's text.

I was reading an analysis of the fairytale by Constance Cagnat-Deboeuf, a very thorough thing, and she pointed out why the slippers do not disappear. It is right there in the text, but one might miss it due to how we are used to modern turns of phrase and outside images. That's the trick with Perrault's stories, you have to read them carefully not to miss anything.

Right after the fairy godmother turns Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown, it is said that she gives Cinderella the glass slippers. She gives them to her. It isn't something transformed like the carriage or the gown. And the fairy doesn't just invoke them magically on Cinderella's feet. The fairy just hands her the beautiful pair of shoes. As Constance Cagnat explains, it is just a gift from a godmother to a goddaughter. And that's why it doesn't disappear after midnight.

I feel so dumb for not seeing this, because again, it's right in the text, at the turn of a coma. Well it's a good lesson about reading too fast.

AU Where Coriolanus Forces Lucy Gray To Return To The Capitol And At A Party, Makes Her Wear This Dress.

I saw this dress on Instagram, and my brain immediately thought of Lucy Gray Baird in it. Honestly, Sugar daddy Coriolanus Snow would love to choose for her songbird the best silk, velvet, satin and brocade dresses the Capitol could offer.

How do you think Erik would react to seeing Hogan's Heroes? Would you laugh with Charles at seeing how the Nazis are ridiculed or would you instead be annoyed that a prison camp was portrayed as if it were some kind of very harsh boarding school?

Thanks for answering my question. Since I saw your art, the idea of a Sheikah-looking Princess Zelda invaded my mind, the reason is that after Link, the Sheikah are the closest guardians to the royal family so it always seemed curious to me that there were no romance and children, unlike the sword hero who is too implicit. I feel like it's a wasted opportunity that Lintendo never thought about this hypothetical princess. Because the concept of a girl who, because of her appearance, breaks cycles of tradition in the eyes of the royal family of Hyrule is very interesting. Reading about Sheik's suffering over her hair made me think that my Zelda would not be treated well for the sin of being the first incarnation of the non-blonde winged goddess. I think that while her parents (king/queen and Sheikah warrior) had a wonderful childhood as a princess but as soon as they both died and the mark of the triforce of wisdom appeared, things quickly went to hell. Her relatives, Hyrulans obsessed with tradition, did not accept that she was the new reincarnation of Hylian because she was not blonde like the previous reincarnations. As darkness invaded the kingdom and the people prayed for the arrival of their goddess, the royal family would try to use blonde dye and lightening eye drops on Zelda but Grandma Impa with her katana (Think Mizu from Blue eye samurai) would prevent her. those rare substances were close to his precious granddaughter. The situation would escalate to the point that the royal family would decide to announce that another blonde, blue-eyed princess was Hylian and would force Zelda to pass off her divine powers as the powers of that other princess to maintain the deception. That would be the last straw for Impa, and she would proceed to escape with her granddaughter in a scene worthy of Mission: Impossible. Taking with them, holy relics: The Harp of the Goddess, the Bow of Light, the Sheikah Tablet and the Ocarina of Time.

Impa would train her granddaughter in the Sheikah martial arts, until she came of age to claim her throne, while Zelda witnesses how the unity that her parents tried to bring back was broken by her relatives. her.

I hope to know more about your Hilda, seeing her so sad and hiding behind a veil, made me so sad and tender. I hope she doesn't suffer so much for being different, but I fear that she will be forced to hide her Sheikah heritage from her or abused in such a way that she herself chooses to hide from her, she deserves the world.

Hi! Nice to meet you. I adore your story and drawings, but seeing the story of Sheik and everything he went through for being a non-blonde boy who received the blessing of one of the goddesses and the triforce of wisdom, made me wonder what would happen if there was a female Zelda reincarnation of Hylia but looking more Sheikah than Hylian (you know silver hair instead of blonde and eyes that can be red or a mixture of purple instead of blue), suppose it's because her mother is Sheikah and Impa is her grandmother? How would the royal family treat her?Sorry to bother you with that but my brain couldn't help but wonder.

Hi! Nice To Meet You. I Adore Your Story And Drawings, But Seeing The Story Of Sheik And Everything He

SORRY. IT TOOK SO LONG FOR ME TO ANSWER THIS IS THINK TUMBLR IS GLITCHED?? It’s tweaking. Like genuinely tweaking. Anyways.

It’s funny because this is kinda lowkey the lore I have for Hilda in Shadow Over Hyrule. Kinda. A little. She’s the illegitimate child of the Hylian Queen after a fling with a Sheikah guy. But I had an excuse to show a character and GODDAMMIT IM GONNA SHOW HER because I think she deserves the world.<3

anyways. To answer your question my friend. I think that the entire prospect changes when you put Impa in the position of grandma because holy shit. So much stuff that happened to sheik would NOT happen to this hypothetical princess. The Queen wouldn’t even try to pull any bleach shit. Because Impa would be IN THERE DUDE. she would not put up with ANYTHING. It’d be OVER. More under the cut

Overall though I think it would change a lot. The reason that Sheik’s hair was bleached is because their hair was black, which, you know, the Royal family has weird connotations with “darkness”. Kinda like zeldatubers. It’s almost like none of the events of Twilight Princess ever happened. “Light is nothing without darkness, they are two sides of the same coin and when isolated everything becomes one-dimensional.” “So dark evil. I understand.” If they had grey hair, I don’t think they would react the same. The red eyes though? Probably a different story. Idk. Anyways sorry for yapping but I love hypotheticals!!

It would have been interesting if instead of just Charles sucking, they ripped apart the entire main cast;

-Raven is often right about her criticisms of her brother, yes, but she's also unnecessarily antagonistic towards him, rarely giving him affection or respect, which is one of the reasons Charles is so hungry for these two. Also Raven is incredibly hypocritical towards her "Mutant and Proud" self, especially towards her brother.

-Hank, who is fighting his beastly side, is afraid of becoming a threat, is still fighting his enabling tendencies, especially with Raven and Charles, because he's afraid of being abandoned by them. He still can't accept himself because he's afraid of himself, and he won't talk about his problems with Raven because he's afraid of being abandoned by her, again.

-Erik, well something that failed in the movie was to explain how he obtained Genosha, in the comics the island nation used mutants as slave labor, going so far as to have breeding programs, of course the X-Men including Magneto came to the rescue, but then Mags turned off the planet's magnetic fields like in X-Men '97 and demanded the United Nations to give her the island as a nation of mutants, when all the nations of the world did it out of fear, Mags expelled the entire human population. Of course the mutants of Genosha were free and the mutants of the rest of the world had a home where they were not persecuted, but Erik's methods are horrible. They could show the effects of that, a human refugee crisis from Genosha, general panic and an anti-mutant sentiment, that explains why the X-Men accept more and more dangerous missions and Charles is so obsessed with the PR campaign. Erik, instead of being terrified by Jean's powers, wants to use them to protect Genosha, only to see how destructive they are when his son Pietro is almost killed. Then in the middle of his hunt for the Dark Phoenix, he is forced to contemplate how his actions help mutants in the short term but in the long run put them in greater danger or as always hurt innocent people.

-Charles, he is too overprotective with Jean and Scott (He is also his surrogate son), he fears abandonment, he craves love, respect and admiration, and that is partly guiding him; basically he has not overcome his problems he only hides them better until he explodes and gives a speech for the reason that you stink to everyone where he points out that while he has defects, Erik and Raven have many more.

Erik: *paralyzes charles, drops a stadium on him, and tried to kill his sister*

Charles: I forgive you :)

Raven: *constantly ungrateful for charles, invalidates everything he has done for mutants, always argues with him, leaves him bleeding on a beach to go with Erik*

Charles: It's ok none of that was your fault. I forgive you :)

Charles: *constantly offers support and help to all mutants, including the brotherhood. Pushed past his depression and drug addiction to help Raven, spent his time, money, and energy to take care and watch over the children. Saves the world more then once*

Mutants: *Idiolizes a woman for not being evil and killing someone*

Charles: *makes one mistake*

Literally everyone: HOW DARE YOU? You are a villain! You are disgusting you shouldn't be around the children you are harmful! I'm going to erase your legacy from the school you made from YOUR house! You have done NOTHING for mutants

Me: wtf

I have mixed feelings about Simón Newton, on the one hand he is an abuser of women with a gambling addiction, but on the other hand he is basically mentally raped by his ex so that he is complicit in the theft of a painting at his work, allied with criminals willing to torture him . I honestly believe that Elizabeth's revenge is disproportionate retribution, Simon hurt her very seriously, and he deserved to pay for his abuse of her, but why didn't he report it to the authorities? I think it was largely because he would have to confess that he had had an affair with his patient, breaking with his ethics. So Elizabeth chooses not to face the consequences of her decision to fuck her patient, if she decided to report Simon's abuse to the police. Instead, he violates her ethics even more by using hypnosis to erase Simon's memories of her. This doesn't sound too bad. Who wouldn't have the power to erase our existence from the mind of an abusive ex-boyfriend? But later it was revealed that she also ordered him to steal a painting and deliver it to her. At the scene of the robbery, we saw many people fleeing, several ended up falling to the ground and being stepped on by the other people who were trying to escape, they were probably injured at best. While Simon is suffering a mental breakdown thanks to Frank's brainwashing + beating, he mistakes a simple motorist for her ex-girlfriend, killing her. That poor woman about whom we know nothing, she was just lucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and tried to help a stranger she accidentally ran over, has just paid with her life for a love affair between two perfect strangers. We do not know if Simon was capable of committing murder before the brainwashing, he showed a clear inclination towards violence in his romantic relationship with Elizabeth and in his fantasies of murdering Frank and his gang. But he went from hitting his girlfriend and gambling, to having a body count of 4 or 5. Throughout the final scene he seemed to be in the middle of a mental breakdown, and when he is killed by Elizabeth, he doesn't seem to be in touch with reality. Did Simon really deserve to die or did he desperately need psychiatric help after being hypnotized and going through so much stress? Is Elizabeth just a mere victim who empowers herself by taking revenge on her abuser or an unethical therapist who, after her affair with her patient turned abusive, would seek not only escape but also revenge but not wanting to face any consequences for it? his bad decisions until the end? At the end of the movie Elizabeth gives Frank the choice of forgetting her or remembering her, it sounds good but it shows that she hasn't learned the lesson of not getting into people's heads because you can worsen her mental state, and hurt other innocent people.
