ok but legitimately i think the reason why kids aren’t taking internet safety seriously is because the people who are telling us not to put our personal information out seem so out of touch. no one acknowledges the possibility of meeting very real teenaged friends online, they always say that everyone you meet is a 40 year old white man in disguise. because they aren’t acknowledging things we know are true, it becomes a lot easier to dismiss the rest of what they’re saying as well. internet safety lessons absolutely must keep up with the times and acknowledge the internet’s capacity for good if you want kids to take to heart warnings about its capacity for bad.

Any reference to women/womanhood that solely revolves around having a uterus or "womb" is TERF shit.

Any sentence where the OP says they support people being "trans identified" with quotes around ""transwomen"" or ""transmen"" is TERF shit.

I'm seeing a lot of you baby Tumblr gays out there not knowing what these specific TERF dogwhistles look like.

"Wombxxn" is an incredibly dumb way of spelling "woman" that treats the word "man" like a slur and also reduces women to their ability to give birth.

"Trans identified" is their way of saying "this person calls themselves trans, but I don't believe they are."

Saying "People should be allowed to identify however they wish, but we still need to protect women/children" IS TERF SHIT.

Learn to identify this garbage, because not all TERFs are going to spell out their intolerance for you. Some of them are going to try and seem reasonable and polite and normal, and it's fucking dangerous to our community.

Also unpack any internalized transphobia and your transmedicalism, because both those things will have you quickly siding with TERFs and bigots.

And as for the argument of “other people have gone through worse”? UTTER BULLSHIT other people, hell, people around you could’ve gone through “worse” truama and that does not mean your truama is immediately invalid. You’re allowed to have your own thoughts and feelings without them being proportioned next to someone else’s.

My grandfather would pick me up from school, ask me how my day was, and if I expressed even the slightest bit of being unsatisfied with my day, he would say “oh well you know who never gets good school days? Starving children in Africa 😀”

Do you see how idiotic that sounds? Yeah, that’s what you’re doing to yourself every day when you invalidate your trauma. (Not calling you idiotic btw, just trying to prove a point. You’re not stupid, you’re being manipulated.)

Btw this also goes for the ppl with any mental illness (but particularly depression) that don’t have any trauma so they have nothing to “blame” it on and feel invalid. You’re depressed bc the world around you sucks. You don’t need trauma to see that.

Honestly though, the amount of times I’ve been told this and comments similar to these is just…..

My dad was like “you need to stop skipping meals!!” As if the reason I do that isn’t because he’s constantly made fun of my weight since I was 3 years old. (That’s not an exaggeration btw)

I still vividly remember when I was 3, sitting at my grandparents dining room table with them and my parents and my dad started on a 20 minute rant about how I was overweight and needed to start doing exercises. I WAS THREE.

Children remember every little comment. Don’t be a dick.
