For Those Of You Who Go To Church (even If Only Once Or Twice A Year) WHY DO YOU GO??

For those of you who go to church (even if only once or twice a year) WHY DO YOU GO??

Is it because you feel like you 'have to' because it is Christmas or Easter? Or perhaps that is how you were raised, or maybe because that is what people are 'supposed' to do on Sundays? Perhaps you are in business and being in a respected church is a great place to make business connections or a way of improving your standing or image in the community. Maybe you go because you enjoy all the many social functions and activities and feel like you have a place of belonging, or it is a great place for your children to have friends and do sports or other activities. Lastly it could be because you enjoy the prestige of being a deacon or serving on some service committee, or are continuing a family tradition of long-time membership.

Well there are a lot of reasons people attend church, and while some of these are not necessarily bad or ill intentioned, that is not what church is all about.

The reason why we go to church is to first WORSHIP GOD, and second to grow in our knowledge and relationship to Him. While all the activities, socializing, and community is good, the main focus must always be on HIM not US.

Sadly a large percentage of what most people focus on is what THEY want from God or from church, but God wants us instead to focus on what HE wants and to give Him GLORY. This whole notion of 'give him glory' sounds foreign to non-believers, but this is also sadly true among many church-going people!

Remember this — everytime you look up into a magnificent star-filled galaxy, see a majestic landscape, beautiful flowers, or feel your heart beating in your chest, remember who did all that! But not just remember, but give him thanks and praise.

THAT is what church is all about!

Re You Aware That Whatever You Say Or Think Will Not Only Effect Your Mood, But Also Your Health? Its

re you aware that whatever you say or think will not only effect your mood, but also your health? It’s true. This is why you must only say and think what God says about you. You were created by Him and Him alone and in His image and must remember that He says He loves you and will never leave you.

Worry will cause you to fret and bite your nails! Fear looks back at the past and holds you in bondage but Faith looks forward to the future no matter what it may seem like.

Worry is the devil’s way of using your imagination for things you do not want to happen, but my friend, it is a trap for fear to enter so when worry and that ole familiar fear come knocking on your door, turn your eyes upon Jesus as that old wonderful hymn says, “and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” Trust that He is watching you and guiding you through your situation until it is over.

Have you ever heard someone say, “I believe I am coming down with a cold?” Sure enough, they do come down with a cold! So my point is this - don’t believe and say the negative things the world says. Speak healing and wholeness over yourself and read the promises of what God says about you. If your mind tends to wander to places that make you sad, fearful, angry, or upset, cast it down.

My friend, you have the power of God in your entire being and your words carry great power. Speak only those things that will build you up, not tear you down. If you are sick, say out loud, "I am healed of the Lord. By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.” I did this exact same thing and Jesus healed me! You can have what you say when you learn to control your words, and let them be God’s words.

What Do You Want ADDED Most To Your Life?

What do you want ADDED most to your life?

Many might think that a brand new car, a better house, a fabulous wardrobe, or a luxurious vacation will satisfy and while all these would be an enjoyable 'happening' in that moment, once that moment passes...then what?

The problem with fun, exciting or expensive things or events is that as nice as they are, they only last for a limited period of time - and then there is an end to it. It might be a new love affair, partying, or doing something exciting - or even dangerous – or any number of other treks down a road seeking happiness, but once that moment of 'Happiness' concludes, where does that road take you?

Our search in life for satisfaction places all of us at a crossroad of CHOICES. Either we choose treks for HAPPINESS or a trek for TRUTH. Given that happiness is tied to the temporary immediateness of what is happening, what does the alternative of “Truth” mean or look like?

Today’s scripture points us to seek what is 'best' in this life, and that’s when we seek that which is above in God’s kingdom, that all that we (really) want (and need) will be added.

Jesus said “I am...the TRUTH” and when you Seek First the trek down the road of HIS TRUTH, it will not be a road that ends in a singular moment, but will last for all eternity.

Which TREK are you on?

While Todays Title May Be Confusing To Some, Here Is What It Means Plain And Simple.

While today’s title may be confusing to some, here is what it means — plain and simple.

We are all born physically into this world into our Mortal Bodies, but at some point the PHYSICAL body will die. This is the 'First Death'.

However, we are also SPIRITUAL beings and that are an Eternal Spirit (body) that can also die unless — as Jesus said in today’s scripture — that your SPIRIT must be Born Again. If not, your spirit will face the 'Second Death,' and thus the explanation of today’s message title.

We all are SPIRIT, that has a SOUL that lives (for now) inside of a BODY. We have no choice to avoid the 'First Death' but all can avoid the SECOND DEATH.

All you need to do is to decide to check the second box. How do you do that? Just go to: SECOND BIRTH

On The 1950s Game Show Truth Or Consequences, Contestants Were Asked A Question And Then Quickly Reply.

On the 1950’s game show “Truth or Consequences,” contestants were asked a question and then quickly reply. If they were wrong, there was a 'consequence' and in the comedy farce that was the hallmark of the show, if they mocked the host AND the question, there was an even bigger consequence to pay.

While life is not a game show, there are serious questions that we face on how we live and answer the questions of our lives daily by our thoughts, words, and deeds. However there are some that not only mock the questions but ridicule what is presented as 'truth' as outdated superstitious teachings that are not applicable to the times or their lives, and therefore do not believe that there are any consequences for their actions.

As that old TV program’s opening screen showed, 'Truth' was marked by a heavenly halo and 'Consequences' with a hellish trident — just as scripture tells us that we all shall “Reap What We Sow.” (see Galatians 6:8) If we sow good things in this life there is reward, but if we sow evil seeds and do what we think is right in OUR eyes, we will reap the OPPOSITE harvest.

Friend, as today’s verse implores us, Don’t mislead yourself into thinking that there really aren’t any consequences for not answering to truth, because there are. Life is a great journey but a serious one that requires how we answer the question of TRUTH, because the Bible says that Jesus Christ is THE TRUTH and He desires us out of His love for us not to have a Consequence! All you need to do is answer one question, and that is this...

Do you believe that Jesus is “The (only) WAY, The (only) TRUTH, and the (only way to eternal) LIFE?” (John 14:6) and as the verse concludes “No man cometh to the Father but by me.” (???)

There is a TRUTH and there is a CONSEQUENCE.

What is your answer?
