Big Brain Time

I've decided to go on a quest for G1 Lagoona's fashion packs, starting with her Scream Uniform.

Problem is, it's old, so people are selling it for stupid prices. The most worthwhile way I was able to get my hands on this one was to buy it in parts...but another problem arises. No one is selling her bikini top by itself. That's the only part I was missing. (Well, and the earrings, but I plan to use it on Dead Tired Lagoona, who doesn't have earring holes anyway.)

Luckily, I was able to devise a solution using another part of my collection.

I have the Original Ghouls Collection Lagoona, which is essentially a lower-quality basic/first-wave Lagoona. She has the same scale pattern on her hoodie, anyway. I cut out a section from the back of OG's hoodie, shaped it to look like a bikini top, and stitched some ribbons to it for structure and support. For the finishing touch, I took a couple of Crayola markers and colored over the fabric/ribbons to make them match the artwork.

I'm pretty proud of the final product! Here's Skull Shores Lagoona modeling it. :)

Anyway, I found Maul Session at a good price, so I'm set now! I have School's Out Lagoona trying it on right now.

It's a very '80s-tastic look--weird, but fun. The shoes were difficult to get on, but I like them. I've always admired strappy designs like these ones. The drink is cute, as is the bag. As for the glasses, well... I love them. They are beauty. They are grace. 👁👄👁

"As someone who is aroace and autistic it really kind of upsets me when people in the Rise fandom say I can't headcanon Donnie as aroace because it's stereotyping, ableist, or counter-canon. None of those things are true? It's not "stereotyping" because I'm literally just projecting onto this turtle, leave me alone. I don't bother all the bisexual-Donnie headcanoners just because I disagree with them! But I see so many posts hating on the aroace Donnie headcanon and it honestly hurts.

It's not ableist because Autistic people can be Aromantic and Asexual. I'm literally right here. I'd only consider it ableist if your only reason for an aroace headcanon was "they're autistic and can't feel emotions normally." But that's not what the majority of aroace-Donnie headcanoners are doing?? To me, my autism informs my aroace identity, they're intertwined, but they don't cause each other.

Lastly, it's not "counter-canon" because all the scenes of Donnie acting "romantically interested" in another character (the scenes people mention being the ones with Atomic Lass and Cherry Bomb) are just??? your amatonormativity interpreting that as romantic??? I look up to characters too, like Donnie does with Atomic Lass!! That doesn't make me less aroace. I have a type too, in friends and favourite fictional characters, in people I like and hang out with!! That doesn't make me less aroace. Those scenes are up to your interpretation and you are 100% allowed to interpret them as romantic but don't try to use them as "proof" when they're not.

Sorry for the incredibly long rant, I just wanted to put it out there. The Rise fandom really irks me on this specific thing.

So, New Zealand is currently holding a vote for Bird of the Century, and local TV show host/madman John Oliver has launched a HUGE campaign to have the Pūteketeke elected as the winner. There are now billboards encouraging people to vote for the Pūteketeke all over the world, from India to France. He and his team even set up a little webpage for the occasion.

Being the easily-amused person I am, I of course went with the funny British man and put the Pūteketeke down as my number one choice. However, even if you don't want this particular bird to win, it's still worth it to look at the rest of the competitors. There's plenty to learn about New Zealand's native wildlife, and you might just find your perfect Bird of the Century champion if you browse around enough.

Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. NZDT on November 12th (about 26 hours from now as of typing), so if you want to participate, do it now!
