love-this one soft word falls so far short of what love can be-the aching, the fury, the force of my love for you, the wild brilliance and shimmering softness of caring

the spring nights we spent together, bare feet on warm asphalt, a taste of liquor and chocolate, the way we used to play kings

me washing you clean of the blood, feeding you, singing you to sleep

all the days we spent hating each other and the broken mirrors and the scars and the people we miss and how i killed you two years ago and you’re still there for me

the way your parents blame me for your loss, one could think we were two different people.
